What they found, the group that went on the med ter rare yan diet, one remission, which is a big deal. The group that just got the social therapy so to speak, only 8 of those people got better. Now the problem is this was not a perfect study because many of the patients in each arm of the study were on antidepressants. You cant completely isolate it and attribute it to the dietary changes but in study does provide more evidence to back up what weve seen. Diet makes a difference. Theres a definite connection between what you eat and not just your physical health but Mental Health. You eat garbage, youre going to feel like garbage. The reason behind this particular diet helping is because of three things. Number one, when youre eating this way youre increasing omega 3 fatty acids and balancing the bio exactly. And decreasing sugar, which is pro inflammatory and we know for many people with depression, its in part a prm inflamation. Youre talking all three of those things and youre seeing the benefits from a Mental Health perspective. For someone who is depressed, its challenging to take on this diet that might seem restrictive at first . It is. But i would say to people, look, you feel bad, youre not feeling well and so why not try this. Yes, its not going to be easy, like going to the gym and exercising is not easy. But we need to be able to do these things in my opinion before turning to the more traditional treatments, things like psychotherapy or medication, particularly medication. Now, i would say for somebody who is really depressed, they are feeling suicidal and cant get out of bed and function, i would not say change your diet and go to the gym. Those are people who are going to need a much more intensive level of intervention. For the average person not feeling well emotionally, you absolutely should look at your diet. If you change that, you have a much better likelihood of that was my next question. This is not something you replace with proper treatment and medical care but this is a First Step Towards finding a wholistic approach to feeling better about life and yourself . Absolutely.
