Offic officer goodson faces several charges. If convicted he could face toum 30 years in prison. Goodson is also charged with manslaughter, assault, reckless endangerment, and misconduct in office. Prosecutors say goodson was responsible for the safety of his passenger but that he failed to seat belt freddie gray in the wagon or seek medical help for him. Gu the defense says goodson acted as any reasonable officer would. Goodson waived his right to a jury trial earlier this week deciding instead to have judge Barry Williams decide the verdict. Just weeks ago, williams acquitted fellow Police Officer edward nero. In december, officer William Porter was tried in court but there was a hung jury leading to a mistrial. Three others in the area were also wounded. And a Police Officer on bike patrol was hit by a car as he responded to this shooting yesterday. Now, everybody is going to be okay. It was about 12 40 last night or 12 40 this morning when police were called to the scene to check on the welfare of a person. When they got here, they found an adult male who was pronounced dead on the scene. Tay ear not saying how that person was killed only that the body had trauma. Sources tell news4 that the victim actually is a resident of this neighborhood but not of this particular house. And police have not release ld any information about names of the victim or who lives in this house. They did tow a car away from the scene earlier today, and some distraught relatives of the victim appeared here briefly while the investigation was going on. Happening today, the former Wootton High School student charged in a double fatal crash will be sentenced. Samuel ellis is facing more than 30 years in prison for the deaths of two of his friend, alex murk and kelvin lee. Prosecutors say he was speeding and driving drunk when he lost control and crashed his car after a house party in june of 2015. And todays students of Clarksburg High School returned to classes with heavy hearts. Three of their classmates died in a terrible crash on burnt hill road in damascus on tuesday night. Parents say the friend were coming home from a pregraduation party. Montgomery county police say alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash. The driver, 17yearold jacob dennis, was going too fast down a country slammed into a tree. He and his passengers all died. Good kids. Brandnew driver. Make a mistake. Have tragic consequences. Last month the Senate Committee unanimously approved the bill, boosting tsa funding by more than 200 million. Some of the money will be used to hire additional officers for airport checkpoints. Metro is considering bus service that would connect National Harbor and alexandria. The route would operate from the huntington and king street metrostations to the austin hill park and ride. Then he came outside, his weapon was raised, the officers gave him verbal commands, he did not comply with them and an officer wound up firing a round at him. But a new dc auditors report sharply criticizes the board of elections for having too many errors on the voting rolls, including 33 dead people found in a small random check.
