Anne Arundel County Police say witnesses told them patel struck his wife multiple times with an object before fleeing the Dunkin Donuts. Its a shop that both of them apparently worked at. Patel is now wanted on several charges, including first degree murder. If you know anything or have seen him, please call police. Weve got breaking news. Florida senator marco rubio says he is running for president. The Associated Press says the republican just told his top donors during a Conference Call ahead of a political rally tonight in miami. Back in 2009, a metro train slammed into another train stopped on the tracks near the fort totten station. Nine people were killed and many more were injured. After that accident, metro stopped using their Automated System and began to control their trains manually. Since the accident a number of things have been done a number of safety improvements have been made and metro is now at the point where they can return to that Automated System and they did that this morning. A computer will now control the trains speed them up slow them down and stop them. This is only happening on the red line with the longer eightcar trains and they began this morning. Sixcar trains the still need a Software Upgrade and theyll be put on the Automated System at a later date. Metro says going back to the Automated System is more efficient and makes for faster rides, smoother erer rides. You might not see the grab byness or jerkiness under the manual system. For example, there were 11,364 complaints in this report for the year of 2014. Thats more than 1,600 more than the year before. Now, flight delays were an issue as well with airlines including southwest, united, and delta all keeping you waiting more often than the year before. The names are being withheld details are limited but this is what we know. It happened this morning. Youre looking at some aerial coverage from chopper 4 here of the scene and what was left in the 700 block of cougar court. This is when a neighbor of the two eightyearolds started their vehicle to warm it up they say the kids who were waiting for a school bus saw it decided to jump in and take it for a ride. Well, shortly after putting the car into gear it went downhill and crashed here into that tree. A lot of damage to the front end of that vehicle. As for two eightyearolds, they both were hurt. I mentioned theyre both in the hospital. We know that one of the children broke their leg. At this point, police dont think that there was criminal intent. Police tracked down nya parlor to Silver Spring after her quadriplegic son was abandoned in a philadelphia park. Police say after she left her son in the park she came to Silver Spring to visit her boyfriend. The man was found lying in the leaves covered with a blanket next to a wheelchair and bible. Parlors boyfriend turned her into police. The boyfriend had no knowledge what happened. He was under the impression she needed a break and came down there. It as a very disturbing case. Reporter parlor was hospitalized after being arrested. She was in the hospital to receive treatment for an unknown reason. Shes facing several charges, including kidnapping and assault. Maryland lawmakers have until midnight to pass a budget. Governor larry hogan proposed a budget compromise on saturday but its unclear whether the legislature is willing and able to pass some of the initiatives that the governor says are important. The house of delegates is scheduled to vote on three of those measures. They include expanding charter schools, ending statemandated storm water fees and providing tax relief on military pensions. Montgomery county Police Brought the couples children to Child Protective Services yesterday. Now the family tells us theyre fighting back. I thought i was going to be taken away from my parents. Reporter 10yearold raffi meitiv recounts his greatest fear after he and his sixyearold sister were picked up by police as they walked home alone from the Silver Spring park sunday evening. They were eventually taken to child protective raffi says he waited hours to see his parents. They kept saying you can see them in a little bit. You can see them in a little bit. Finally 10 30, 10 45 finally i can see them. Reporter a scary experience for a tenyearold but not the familys First Encounter with police and the Child Protective Services. The gang dropped down an elevator shaft from the second floor basement pried open the shutter doors, drilled through nearly seven feet of reinforced concrete and raided the vault. The scene still remains chaotic down there. The floor is strewn with discarted safety deposit boxes and numerous power tools.
