Well tell you what will happen to archies final moments. Stay with us, well be right back. Were following a developing story in the middle east. The Israeli Military says it shot down a drone along its southern coastline. They say its the first time they have seen a drone coming from gaza militants. There have been back and forth rocket attacks between gaza and israel. Palestinians say that more than 170 people have been killed. Israeli forces are expected to launch quick ground strikes across the border to take out militants and destroy their rocket sites in gaza. Thousands of people in gaza left their homes after a warning from israel. The u. S. Embassy evacuated 150 americans from gaza. Israeli forces warned people by leaflets, voice messages and texts to leave their homes or risk being injured and or killed. Bowe bergdahl could return to life in the military as soon as today. Today the va faces questions about a new problem on capitol hill. The agency has already been under fire for falsifying wait times at dozens of hospitals across the country. Today the House Veterans Affairs committee will question how the agency is processing claims for wounded veterans. Lawmakers are concerned the va took several sloppy and improper steps to try to expedite the claims process. It turns out more veterans call Virginia Home than anywhere else in the country. Nationwide there are over 21 million military veterans. According to a survey by wallet hub, one in every ten people in virginia served in the armed forces. Alaska came in number two on that list. The job market in our area is credited with keeping vets and military retirees in this region. Well, time is running out for congress to reach a deal with what to do with the thousands of women and children who are flooding the border. The president is asking for 3. 7 billion to address what hes calling a humanitarian crisis. Lawmakers are bitterly divided on the issue. Some say they wont authorize billions for illegal immigrants, while others say the u. S. Must do something to help. Pressure is on for a compromise before congress breaks for the summer. And for more on when or if congress will take up this measure, we are joined by nbc news political reporter carrie dan. Good morning, carrie. Good morning. Last week Homeland Security jay johnson warned that doing nothing is not an option. But is it an option . Is it a possibility . I wwell, it seems like congr is going to act on something before the end of the month. Both sides say this is a crisis, we need to deal with it. What were looking at now is exactly what that measure is going to be. Republicans said last week that 3. 7 billion request is simply too much. That much money is not required. A big Sticking Point here, in 2008 the Bush Administration passed a law making it when children from Central America come to the United States unlawfully, they go through a longer process before being returned to their home country than a same child from mexico. Congress, especially republicans in congress, say we really want to change that law so its easier to process kids and deport them back to their home country. A lot of democrats are saying thats not humane. This law was put into effect because it helped with child trafficking. We dont want to change this and put kids into dangerous situations again. So thats why it was established in the beginning in the Bush Administration, to stop trafficking of children . Right. And, for example, if youre from canada or mexico, those requirements dont have to go into place. For Central America they do. Republicans are saying, look, we need to process this faster. Even some democrats have hinted, look, were okay, this could be a bargaining chip to change this law. The Obama Administration wants a little more flexibility here. Who is standing in the way of something being done . Right now theyre debating exactly how theyre going to address this law. There could be a legislative change. It could be just a little bit of a change in the way doj and the department of Homeland Security deal with these kids. Right now its a Sticking Point that both sides are warring over. Weve been hearing a lot from rick perry on those border problems but hes also been talking lately about iraq. Whats up with rick perry . Rick perry wrote an oped in the Washington Post last week taking rand paul to task, another one of the republicans looking at a 2016 bid by the way, and said, look, rand paul is wrong on foreign policy. Hes too interventionist, hes not taking the threat of islamic extremism seriously. Now, rand paul shot back in another oped today saying that rick perry is reaching back to the past, hinting that these are george w. Bush policies. Things that the American People really dont really want to engage in these foreign wars. Rand paul saying im on the side of the American People. So do you think these are the two possibilities for a republican nomination . Theyre certainly jockeying for position right now. Rick perry is trying to stake out some room and hes been in the headlines on the immigration issue. Now hes in the headlines on foreign policy. Rand paul is striking right back. Everyone is looking for something to sink their teeth in ahead of the nominations for 2016. Exactly. Good to see you. Well see you tomorrow. Thank you. Dr. Claudia and her patient, rashma, join us with more on this disorder and the treatment options. Welcome to both of you. Good to see you again. Wonderful to be here. Lets start with you, rashma. Which of those symptoms that i just described were you suffering from . Well, i had headaches which affected my concentration at work. I had ringing in my ears which affected the clarity of what i heard and i also had tightness and stiffness in my neck. So what did you first do, try taking some overthecounter remedies . I would take advil seek help from my medical providers to rule out any Serious Problems such as cancer. As a physical therapist i knew there was a strong musk low skeletal component. So knowing the doctor and her focus with that, i wanted her to help me find the cause of the symptoms and not just address the symptoms and i wanted to do it without using medication or a minimally invasive technique. You have some experience with this because you as a professional are what . What do you do . Im a physical therapist. So physical therapist, you had an idea this might have been something in the jaw area. Tell us what is tmd . Tmd or tmj, most of us have heard of tmj but most people dont know what it is. It is a temporomandibular disorder. It involves the teeth position as well as the muscle response. Theres a joint in there. Most of us figure there has to be because we open and close. As you open and close, its right over here, you can feel it. And most patients, the disorder itself is described oftentimes by pain or discomfort in the jaw area, the face area of course, the neck, the shoulders and particularly the ear. And most most cases involve the muscle component as the more prominent concern. What causes it . Does it just get out of alignment in this particular joint or Something Else . Thats a wonderful question. Its a complex issue, of course. It involves the skeletal deficiencies if you will of the entire facial coordinants. It involves joint position and the muscle response particularly as through the developmental phases. But is it something youre born with or something that can develop. If youre in an accident i expect that could throw things off. Theres a genetic composition that you start with and theres a medium which allows us to compensate for deficiency that say we just inherit. So how did you check rashma to see if she had this problem with tmd or tmj. We took a look to make sure the skeletal position is on. We did diagnostic casts and this is, for instance, her models. Can you hold that up so we can see it. You make a model of her teeth. Of her teeth but also its really exactly transferred, you know, based on her facial skeletal. So thats very, very important data to transfer onto the laboratory. Based on that, you know, we incorporate and fabricate an appliance that she can wear which takes into consideration the structural deficiency but also relaxes the muscles. You say an alliance. Were seeing a picture of the alliance. Its something that you wear all day, all night . You can wear this appliance as much or as little as you choose. The more you wear it, the more effect it has. Did it make a difference for you . It made a big difference. I only wear my appliance at night. But on a scale n 0 to 10, i had about 8 out of 10 pain. During treatment over the course of about four months, the intensity decreased to about 2 out of 10 and the frequency decreased as well where i would have these headaches every day or the ringing in my ear every day and now its less than a couple of times a month. So thats wonderful. So it worked, which is great. Doctor, you figured it out. I guess a lot of people suffer from this. More ben than men, i understand. Of course the Research Indicates as high as 80 of metropolitan residents do present with these symptoms. So if youre clenching or grinding or having pain in the head, pain in the neck, go see your dentist. Thanks for joining us. Thank you for having us. Our time now 11 50.
