Reporter it was only about an hour after she dropped him off at a babysitters house that she and her husband got chilling phone call to come right away. The Orange County Sheriffs Office is investigating, reporting the gun that killed cole was not a service revolver, but the deputy wasnt at home at the time of the tragic incident. As the investigation continues, coles parents have a warning for anyone who drops their child off at a home daycare. Police call it a robbery gone wrong, but there are a lot of conspiracy theories in this still unsolved case. Pat collins has been trying to separate fact from fiction on this. He worked for the Democratic National committee. In the dark hours of the morning last july 10th, he was shot and killed as he was walking to his home in the blooming dale section of washington. Police believe it was a robbery gone bad. Now private detective rod wheeler has told fox news theres evidence on richs computer that indicates some degree of an email exchange between rich and wikileaks. It was wikileaks that exposed embarrassing dnc emails during the president ial campaign. Fox news is reporting that within 96 hours of richs murder, the fbi was aware of thousands of emails between seth rich and wikileaks. But an fbi spokesperson told me today, the bureau did not examine richs computer. He said the fbi didnt have richs computer. A lobbyist who has posted 105,000 reward in the seth rich murder case. He admitted he was drunk behind the wheel when he crashed into another vehicle in oxon hill in 2014, killing one of his passengers and four people in the other vehicle, including two children. But on friday, he did not show up for sentencing. The Prince Georges County States Attorneys Office is trying to figure out why was not being monitored on gps. We took a look back at the transcripts from the plea hearing and theres mention of monitoring pending sentencing and the judge said hell remain on monitoring pending the disposition. If youve ever been to ocean city, chances are youve seen or sat on one of the hundreds of benches that line the boardwalk there. A lot of families bought these benches and dedicated them to lost loved ones. But now some families are being told to pay more than a thousand dollars or lose their Memorial Bench. News4s Darcy Spencer spoke to one Prince Georges County couple trying to figure out what to do. This is where we got stacys bench. Reporter gayle took this video of the bench she bought and dedicated to her 17yearold daughter stacy, who was murdered back in 2005. The Memorial Bench is on the stacy actually told her family she wanted one of these benches before she died. I said, these are Memorial Benches for when people die. She goes, i want you to buy me one of these. I said 80 years down the road, when you die, four family will buy you one. Five days later, she was murdered. Reporter her family looked into it, and it wasnt cheap. 1,370. I thought that might be a little steep, but then i thought, this is forever. Reporter stacys parents and friends visit that bench every year and it gives them a sense of peace. Because she didnt want to be buried, this bench takes on special meaning. We dont have a grave site for her, so we talk to stacy there. Reporter they and other families were surprised when they received a letter from the town of ocean city, asking for more money. The letter explains a new policy, assigning benches a tenyear life span and 1161 restoration fee. Some of the benches are cracked and damaged and need to be repaired or replaced. I just think thats the wrong way to do business. Because youre retro actively going back in time and saying, we made this policy and, okay, this is ten years old, that bench is ten years old, send them a bill. The letter spells out three options, pay the fee, donate the bench to the town, or come and take your bench. In a letter to the seatons from 2005, theres no mention of maintenance or future payments. In a phone interview with news4, town spokesperson said the benches didnt hold up as long as theyd hoped in the ocean air. The money is needed for maintenance, repair, and in some cases, replacement. Quote, this is a tough decision, we understand people are upset. I know theyre looking at it strictly from a business point of view of running a city. But theres that. Its an emotional thing.
