Trump administration to drop its order banning. Doesnt matter who you are or where you come from. Reporter protesters encouraged by a seattle federal judges ruling late friday which puts the travel ban on hold for now. I find that a temporary restraining order is in the public interest. The laws a powerful thing. It has the ability to hold everybody accountable to it. And that includes the president of the united states. Reporter President Donald Trump not impressed. In a video recorded before the court ruling he defended his executive order. The executive order establishes a process to develop new vetting and mechanisms to ensure those coming into america love and support our people. That they have good intention. Reporter trump 1, 2, 3 e tweeting saturday morning he believes the ruling is ridiculous and it will be overturned. But until that happens about visas revoked next week and people from the seven banned countries are now free to come to the u. S. , all federal agencies are complying with the court order. If they do come, however, it will be at their own peril, with constant legal maneuvering going on, their status could change at any moment. Chris pallone, nbc news. Our news 4 coverage continues live at Dulles National airport with whats going on there, dar si. Reporter erika, its a much different situation here at Dulles International airport compared to last weekend when we had all those protests and press conferences. I want to show you whats happening right here behind me. You can see people are standing here holding up welcome home signs. Also offering Legal Assistance to those who may have been detained. Now, this is the scene here at the International Arrival area at dulles. We spoke to people arriving from abroad today and they reported that they havent had any issues coming into the lets hear now from a man who just arrived from pakistan and a woman who was waiting for her mom to arrive. I dont think that its a good thing. People living here in the country and going back own country fur tour and visit and loved ones are here. I think its not a good thing. I dont think its fair that, you know, youre just pointing the finger at certain people just because, you know, they look a certain way. To me thats just, you know, against the constitution. Reporter now, youre looking at a photograph of a George Mason University senior who basically got caught up in the travel ban thats been in effect here for a week. And shes from libya. We understand that shes on a plane possibly arriving here at dulles any minute now. Were going to bring you the latest on that coming up at 11 00. Back to you. Darcy want to bring in our chief correspondent nbcs pete williams. The department of Homeland Security says it will abide to temporarily suspend the order. If this is temporary, how long can this last . Dont know how long its going to last. The order is as though it never existed. Anyone who has a visa from those countries are able to board planes from overseas. And anyone who arrives with visas from those countries are allowed to enter the country into the u. S. Assuming theres nothing in secondary inspection that would cause a problem. But thats normal. So thats the situation right now. All those visas are being honored. However, the justice department, the Trump Administration is scrambling to try to get to the ninth Circuit Court of appeals out on the west coast and put a stop to the judges order. Thats going to be filed later today. If that court agrees, then presumabt start enforcing the travel restriction again. If the court doesnt, then the government would undoubtedly go to the u. S. Supreme court and try to get a stay there. So the president almost immediately speaking out about this, about the ruling and about the judge himself. We talked a little bit about what the recourse is then for the white house, but is there anything in history that we can compare this to . Well, in a sense one thing to compare it to is president obamas attempt to change the immigration rules to allow adults to stay here if their children were citizens. That was put a stop to by a federal court. That went all the way to the Supreme Court. Who knows what the course of this is going to be. This is the very early stage of the litigation. So what the judge in seattle has done here is said, you know, lets just freeze everything while we later in the coming weeks decide whether this order is constitutional or legal. For now lets put a stop to it. Normally when someone tries to get a stay to an order like that, it isnt successful. Well see what hap governments request. Let me ask you one last question, in his ruling the judge spoke repeatedly about a tripart government, so i think a lot of people are scratching their heads right now wondering, so ultimately, who has the last say here . Where does this fall . Well, to a large extent right now its in the ball the ball is in the courts. Theyll decide whether the president can enforce this order. But congress in essence has the last word because they could change the law. Unless the courts say that this executive order is unconstitutional. In that case theres no recourse. All right. Nbcs pete williams. We thank you so very much for your time. Thanks again for joining us. You bet. As we mentioned President Trump immediately speaking out about the ruling and about the judge. So who exactly is judge james robart . You can open our nbc washington app to learn more about him. Lets change gears now. Falls church is expected to vote on a bond referendum for possible construction of a new school in november. And now, your storm team 4 forecast. Well, a little like winter out there today, temperatures 30s to low 40s. That was it, but a beautiful sunset as those clouds start to roll in. That sun went down just about 45 minutes ago and its continuing to decrease in sunlight. At least our sunsets getting a little later, thank goodness, as we continue through this winter. That actually feels more like wednesday. Now, tonight we are going to have increasing cloud cover. And then tomorrow were going to have some clouds, but i believe were going to have a few peeks of sunshine here and there. And by the time we get into next week, tomorrow well start our warmup trend, but by wednesday, again, we could have record breaking warmth around here. Not today. Nowhere near that. Now we drop to 37. 39 at quantico. 33 at dulles. Little frigid in the shenandoah valley. If youre headed out tonight, again, its getting chilly, but increasing cloud cover will help stop our temperatures from dropping too far too fast. Only because were kind of insulated with those clouds compared to last night when we had clear skies. We were in the teens and 20s early this morning. Temperatures around 50. Now, i cant rule out a few sprinkles, mainly north of d. C. We got a system passing to the north. So we took rain chances completely out. If you want to exercise, it is going to be warm and dry. Have you noticed youve been reaching for the chap tick, skin little on the dry side, dew points are down. Grab the moisturizer. Youll need it not only tonight but tomorrow. Well be doing a little better next week for your skin. Super bowl parties, no travel issues whatsoever.
