Jason pugh joins us live with reaction to a different q a than weve ever heard with the nats star before. Jason, take it away. Carol, thats right. The q a that zimmerman had, the press conference in the dougout here at spaceco stadium it lasted about 30 minutes. He was very open with the media, answering all the questions the best way, as open as he could. And we all know zimmerman has had a busy offseason this year. Not in a good way. He was linked in the report by the al jazeera tv network. Linked to performanceenhancing drugs and the nationals stuck by zimmerman throughout this entire process. Since day one. The first baseman has a lawsuit against al jazeera for that report. Hes been out of the nationals lineup the last few seasons due to injury. But zimmerman made it very clear toy that he has never used p. E. D. S. Ive never done any of that. Ive never even thought about doing any of that. Its, its a tough spot. You do everything the right way. You work, you think. Something like this will never happen. And then for some reason, it does. Now zimmerman also made it very clear throughout that press conference, that his close friends, his family, the people in this organization, that truly know him, he feels that they believe and they know that hes innocent of these accusations. Hes just wants to get the message out and the lawsuit is for the fans. Hopefully his name can be cleared. Thats what hes hoping comes of all of this. The full team did report position players. The whole thursday. Today it was pitchers and catchers and the tomorrow the same thing. I know im in vera, florida, the sun has gone down, but if it makes you guys feel bet anywhere studio. Dy leave my sunglasses and my flipflops back in my apartment in d. C. So not all is well. What a rookie. In sunshine. Youre breaking our hearts. Jason, oh, my goodness. I want to ask you, i know you have a scheduled meeting with dusty baker. Whats he have to say about zim . He said it was an interesting story. Baker, when he got to the stadium here today, zimmerman arrived at the same time and those two walked from the parking lot and baker said he just followed him into his office, which hardly ever happens with the player. He said zim apologized to him. Apologized to his teammates for putting, making them go through this or having them go through this. But you could tell he was very emotional throughout the day. Questions, but he did answer the questions best he could. You have to give him credit for that. Jason pugh, live in florida. And well hear a lot of baseball reports coming up after this one. Thank you so much. The redskins have until march 9th to decide what to do with robert griffin. All offseason its been assumed theyll release him. The Team President making headlines, when during a radio interview he acknowledges rg3s fate, becoming the first Team Official to do so. Ive seen robert get an opportunity with another team. I think he, weve heard from some teams that are, that are interested. And i think hes going to have a choice of a couple of teams. That will let him excel in the future. Hes been a good teammate. And a good guy. I know some people on the outside always like to be critical. But his teammates like him, his coaches like him and he, he does have some speci wish him well. Kind of stop holding out hope if you think hes coming back. I bet you terry jones likes him, too. Nightly news coming up next.
