Hes an uber driver assaulted last weekend when he tried to get some people to stop drinking beer in his uber car. He says one of the guys tried to get the keys out of the ignition and then after that came the attack. I tried to stop him with my hand. Then from the other hand he threw the bottle at me on my head, and after that he started punching me. I tried to save myself by going down. My head was a little bit down after that. Reporter Police Arrested three men in connection with the 26yearold Justin Norconk charged with Malicious Wounding and assault by mob. 25yearold lance ingram charged with assault by mob. And 26yearold jeffery rowe charged with destruction of property. We take this very seriously. Number one, they shouldnt have been consuming alcohol in the car, so he was in the right to ask them to refrain from doing so, but then to violently attack them is absolutely inappropriate. A disturbing child Pornography Case at a prince georges Elementary School has one lawmaker pushing for change. Anthony muse will introduce a bill that will allow employers access to juvenile sex offenses if the person being considered for a job would berk children. Deonte carraway is facing child pornography charges. He had a clean record as an adult, but there were offenses as a juvenile that were protected. Muse says the change would have raised eyebrows and red flags during a background check. By way of all the necessary information, senator muse is the husband of our colleague pat lawson muse. A developing story now involving the attack on a woman near the metro station. We learned the attack happened on a metrobus and the bus driver came to the rescue. Four people tried to take a womans purse about 3 30 this afternoon. The woman was 61 years old, slightly impaired, but she fought back. Then the driver chased the robbers into the metro station. Police took four teenagers into custody. The woman who was attacked is injured but were told those injuries are not serious. Today for their alleged role in a violent attack on metro. Theyre accused of beating a man at the gallery place stop on the red line. They were arrested four stops away at the woodley park station. Mark segraves has details you will see only on news4. Reporter the Six Wilson High School students charged in the january 28th attack at the gallery place metro station have all been allowed to return to school, but a judge has ordered that they cannot use metrorail, a condition some of their attorneys said was overly burdensome and causing them to be late for classes. The judge declined the request to lift the restriction saying, this condition is difficult for everyone, im sorry, but there is probable cause. It was just after 8 00 in the morning at the gallery place station. According to police about 20 to 30 students were on the platform when at least one teen punched a 35yearold ma teens joined in. Its troubling again when you see this type of wolf pack mentality. Reporter five males and one female between the ages of 16 and 17 were charged with aggravated assault, conspiracy, and assault on a Police Officer as well as other charges. Today all six teenagers stood before the judge with their family members in court and asked for a trial. There was no mention in court of any plea deal discussions. D. C. Public schools have declined to comment on the students status or why parents at wilson high were not notified that the students were allowed to return to classes. The school is citing prifs si laws. I reject this notion that wild bands of roving students are attacking people on the metro. Mark, we always hear what happens with adults when theyre charged with crimes, but its very rare that we hear what happens with juveniles. Whats that about . I had to go to the presiding judge of family court, sign a waiver, and agree news4 would not release any identifiable information about the students for their families. This is what a lot of people are thinking its a growing problem and to put some numbers on this, in fiscal year 2014, there were 42 cases of juvenilings for the most serious offenses. This is murder, sexual assault, armed robberies. In fiscal year twit2015, it was and in this year there are 23 cases with the most serious charges. I mean, i come home at night, im afraid because im a woman, and its not easy because you have two kids, and i dont have no man in the house. Im happened. Police say that captain paul shelton rear ended another driver on i295 in southeast just before 10 00 last night. Nobody was hurt but captain shelton was charged with driving under the influence. His Police Powers have been suspended. Captain shelton is a 29year veteran of the force. Investigators are sifting through the debris trying to figure out what sparked this fire at a federal facility in maryland. Flames were shooting out of the building when firefighters arrived this morning. It started inside a boiler building at the beltsville Agricultural Research center. The roof collapsed during the fire, but fire crews were not inside at the time. A mother who lives in go to jail in the death of her toddler. 3yearold jiaire lee was found dead in a swing at a park in laplata last may. Today his mother, Romechia Simms entered an alford plea to involuntary manslaughter. What it means is she did not admit guilt but did acknowledge there was enough evidence to convict her. The toddler died of dehydration and hypothermia after simms left him in that swing for two days. Simms suffers from schizophrenia. As part of her sentence she has to take her medication and continue seeing a psychiatrist. Nearly half of the birds rescued during an oil spill on the Potomac River are back in the wild tonight. 21 geese were released along the river in alexandria this afternoon. They hopped out of cardboard bocks and looked around curiously. Others waddled away from the water and started hun food in the grass. Were told theyre all healthy and ready to return to the area. She says she does not see el chapo as a torturing and murderous drug lord. He is el chapos third wife. They have twin girls together. The last thing he told her in prison, she said, was dont worry, everything will be all right. El chapo is being held at the same prison from which he escaped seven months ago. The cell phone privacy fight between the fbi and apple is escalating. Tonight prosecutors say apple helped federal agents at least 70 times in the past 7 years when they extracted from iphones. Then suddenly last year apple refused to break into the phone of a suspected meth dealer in new york. Well, that set up apples current position against helping the government in the case of the San Bernardino shooters. The fbi wants the company to hack the cell phone of syed farouq. They are buying and selling, and thats what criminals know and its part of the reason that theyre using these apps to prey on people. Police are saying you need to use them safely. If something doesnt feel right, trust your gut. Reporter 22yearold Tyrone Strickland jr. And 36yearold andray speller robbed two teenagers at gunpoint. They say they used the buy and sell app offer up to do it. We have seen an increase in suspects utilizing these applications to set up the victims, to lure them out of areas where they may typically be familiar with. Reporter in this case Police Say Two claimed to be selling a dirt bike. Two teens from Anne Arundel County met the suspects on abel avenue where they were robbed. Police recovered this handgun from one of the suspects loaded with an extended magazine. Its certainly frightening, that amount of firepower is certainly of a concern to us. Reporter Prince Georges County police are working on seven similar cases where criminals are targeting wouldbe buyers on apps like offer up and craigslist. Theyre luring them out of an area to where theyd like the robbery and they are robbing the victim with the expectation they will have funds with them because they are looking to purchase an item. Reporter Police Caught the two suspects by conducting their own sting. Theyre asking app users to practice good judgment. Someone who is looking to sell you something for that is not stolen, that its not some type of illegal issue should not have an issue with meeting new a public place such as a shopping center. Reporter police say you as the buyer should make the location. It should be during the daytime, bring someone with you. They also say a good place to go could be your local Police Department during the day time.
