There are new concerns tonight about the terrorist group known as isis. The fbi has issued a warning about the terror group, trying to use western recruits to target current and former members of the military. Nbc news chief pentagon correspondent Jim Miklaszewski joins us now live. Jim, thanks. And first of all, why are Service Members now being told to watch what they post online . First, i think, jim, its important to stress, this is not based on any immediate or specific threat against any u. S. Military personnel here in the United States or anywhere around the world. But because isis has been so aggressive in trying to recruit terrorists, self radicalized terrorists in other countries to go after targets here in the u. S. , the fbi and Homeland Security thought it was important to put out this warning to u. S. Military personnel and their families, just to be careful, be cautious, be walk aware of a potential threat when they post things online, facebook, twitter, that could give away a persons identity, location, family members, in an effort to keep them safe. Was this inspired in any way, jim, by what happened in canada to the Service Member there recently . Absolutely. In fact, in october when those two canadian soldiers were killed by two separate selfradicalized jihadists there in ottawa, the pentagon immediately put out a reminder to all u. S. Military personnel, much like the one from the fbi and Homeland Security, hey, use some common sense here, and what they call operational security. Dont let potential enemies know who you are and what youre doing. Finally, jim, does the advisory go in any way beyond the recommendation in terms of what to do online or what not to do . At this point, no. Of i mean, officials here acknowledge that its impossible to control every soldier, every sailors activity on social media, particularly their families. Theyre just putting out the best guidance possible in an attempt to keep them safe from any terrorist attack. All right. Thanks, jim. Jim miklaszewski, pentagon correspondent for nbc nightly news, which will go deeper into the isis warning coming up tonight at 7 00, right here on nbc 4. But i think sleet, and i think we could even see around the d. C. Metro area, but the Winter Weather advisory, west virginia, shenandoaha valley west of the blue ridge will see the Winter Weather advisory and you have the best chance of seeing some of that mixed rain down to the south, snow, sleet, light icing, maybe less than an inch, but were not expecting much in the way of some problems around the area. I do think roads should be okay. Should remain above freezing. 40 degrees tomorrow. Most of you in the 30s. 57 on wednesday. So we go back up. Wednesday afternoon looks nice. Then 50 on thursday. And then it gets unsettled again. Friday, saturday and sunday, highs only in the 40s. And were dealing with showers. These will be rain showers through the weekend. Guys . Thanks, doug. Dianna is at the park and you look at the final box scores, who would think this guy had almost 400 yards in total offense . Unbelievable. Four straight losses. Playoffs gone for the redskins. And no wins in november. So not a good day here at redskins park. So i had to ask head coach jay gruden, what is the most disappointing part of this season . Hes going to have his answer coming up, along with chris cooley. Sports is next. This is the xfinity sports desk, brought to you by kb infinity, your home for the most live sports. Save us somebody save us please, somebody save my skins thats sad. Thats that is so sad. Dianna, listen, i heard what you said in your tease about what you asked gruden about, whats the most disappointing. And i thought the best answer was the one that doreen had, which was, where do you want me to begin . How much time have you got . I know. Thats what it feels like here at redskins park, especially right now at this point in the season with only four games left. But coach has this attitude now. These guys have to play the best four games of the season right now, because theyre playing for their jobs, theyre playing for next season. Yes, he didnt say that. But he knows that the future begins right now for this Redskins Team. But hes pretty disappointed where theyre at. You can see it. We can all see it now. Too many blown assignments. And, you know, i feel like we are putting in the time and work. Monday through saturday. And were doing a fine job of that. Its just unfortunately not translating on the field for whatever reason. And we have to find out why. And weve got to challenge our guys last four games. Weve got to make this the most important four games of their careers. Welcome into the cooley report. Chris cooley, is colt mccoy the best quarterback on the Redskins Team now for the remainder of the year . Hes a starter so yeah, hes the best. I think hes been effective. Three touchdown passes, 113 quarterback rating and yes, a slow start. The guy hasnt played for four weeks. I think he allows this offense to develop the best. Defense. Who is key out there . Swiss cheese. They had ghost man defenders out there. This guy is playing ghost defender in that third of the field. So its not really a catch. Kobi flaner was invisible. Terrible defense. Missed cues. They have to learn to communicate and understand route concepts and what they see. Understand what offense is trying to do to you. Watch film, understand, and dont just take guesses. Last four games of the year jay gruden says are most important for these guys, individually for their own careers. You remember being a player. Do you really care about these games . Is it worth being injured . They better care, if they want to be a part of this team. This is where jay is really going to learn about his players, who will put in the time, continue to work, who wants to be a great nfl football player, not just a pro who hangs out in the locker room, not just a guy on the team. Youve got to study and work. My notebook would be meticulous. This is the learning process to say, are you part of the roster turnover or are you part of the problem . And hopefully some redskins are taking their own notes off cooley there, because thats some good advice as they wrapup the season here with the next four games. Lets talk some wizards. They are back at the Verizon Center tonight to face the heat. But for the fourth game in a row, theyre going to be without their big guy, nene. Tipoff tonight on Comcast Sports net at 7 00. Lets go down a level and talk some college hoops. University of maryland basketball. Today ap came out with their top 25. Theyre checking in at number 21. Its their first top 25 ranking under head coach mark turgeon. They havent been in the polls since march of 2010. The terps are 70 on the season coming up a big upset over then 13th ranked iowa state. Last week big test. Maryland welcomes in seventh ranked virginia. Baseball. Nelson cruz no long a baltimore oriole, now with the mariners, agreed to a fouryear, 57 million deal. Cruz was an allstar, led the major leagues with 40 home runs after signing a oneyear deal with baltimore. But the outfielder turned down a oneyear qualifying offer from the birds, meaning the mariners will have to pick the os give the os a draft pick. Big day for nelson cruz and sad day for the os. He certainly had a great year for them last year. Guys, back to you. Thanks, dianna. Thats our broadcast for now. Nbc nightly news is up next.
