That same storm system, take a look, you can see it very well defined here. The storm system bringing in the rain around the kansas city area. But look from chicago all the way down towards new orleans. Numerous tornado watches here. Its already being blamed for at least one death and a lot of damage. Lightning from the storm sparked this Oil Well Fire in texas. Thousands of homes and businesses without power, but in arkansas, one person lost his life. Four others were injured in what looks like a tornado that touched down there. And that system is coming our way. Is it going to be this violent . Not even close. Theyve got numerous tornado warnings in the middle part of the country. Tornadoes on the ground right now. But thats not going to be what we have here. Do we have a tornado threat . Yes, its higher than normal. But thats not the saying a whole lot for our area. Im not anticipating that in our area. Right now, what are we seeing . The clouds, the fog, a little bit in the waive of some drizzle. But the rain has stopped for the most part. The current temperature, 68 degrees with a dew point of 63 degrees. Any time our dew point and actual temperature are close to one another like they are now, thats where we get fog, and chances for rain. Also a cool number, 63 in gaithersburg. Half mile visibility. So give yourself some time up around Montgomery County, howard county, frederick and carol county, rain there. 70 in fredericksburg. 66 to the west in winchester. No rain right now on the radar. Once again, cant rule out an isolated drizzle patch or so. But most of us should remain on the dried sighdry side. The roads remain wet but well be okay. Look at the tornado watches from chicago all the these yellow boxes, tornado watches, the length of the mississippi towards new orleans. And every one of these red boxes, those are tornado warnings. Numerous tornadoes and one currently on the ground towards portions of tennessee. That whole line is moving our way. But it is moving very, very slowly. Normally a line like that would get here and just in 24 hours. So it would be tomorrow. But take a look at future weather taking us through the night tonight in through early tomorrow. Some clouds, a little bit of fog and a little breeze popping up. Shower activity, well off towards the west. West of the blue ridge, i think much thats going to be the case even during the afternoon tomorrow. A few clouds, some shower activity out to the west. But most of us dry on our tuesday. Most of us on the warm side. I think we get off tuesday on a very good note. Watch what happens wednesday. That storm system taking so long, even wednesday morning, 8 00 a. M. , the showers really start to come in. And then in the afternoon. Thats when we get the rain and thats when we have a chance for not only the rain, but some stronger storms to come through. Possibly severe. But right now im looking at about 40mileanhour wind. Thats not severe level winds. The rain could be a big factor. We could see 1 to 2 inches and it does look like it could be here most of the afternoon wednesday. So our severe storm potential, tornado threat on the low side. Not that there is no risk. Its on the low side, something to watch. High winds, something were definitely watching and heavy rain we think is going to be the biggest impact from this during the day on wednesday. So wednesday right now all eyes on wednesday. Tomorrow, a little bit of a break from this. We get warm. Temperatures in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees. And i think we will see some sunshine during the day tomorrow after the clouds early. If we do break out in the sun, we could see a couple more areas around that 80degree mark. Then on wednesday, thats when it all comes down for us. 75 degrees, very stormy. 70 on thursday with a good chance of just some shower activity, kind of a cool gloomy day on thursday. And then much nicer for the weekend. Friday, saturday, sunday, all looking great. We will see another front move through. So surday about 10 degrees warmer than our sunday. Reporter since january, 25 Montgomery County school buses have been equipped with the cameras to catch drivers who pass the buses when the stop sign arm is extended and the flashing lights are on. Weve got a lot of violations. Other jurisdictions who put the cameras on the buses, you know, they have got a low number. Reporter in a briefing for the Montgomery County council today, the chief compared the bus camera infractions for the past year from four maryland counties. So far this year, Montgomery County has issued 733 tickets. Weekend, 112. Frederick county, four and in prince georges, just one ticket. Manger said two factors cause the high number of tickets in Montgomery County. There is a lot of impatient drivers out there. Reporter and theres a lot of drivers out there that are unsure about the law. Reporter that confusion plays out on roads like river road, where theres two lanes in each direction, and a raised median strip in between. On this road, you would not have to stop if youre traveling in the opposite direction of a school bus. But just a mile down this very same road, you would have to stop in both directions, because here theres no median strip. Paint does not protect. That is, if all there is a painted line down the middle of the road of a fourlane highway, you cannot pass either direction. Reporter the fine for getting caught by the cameras is 125 bucks. But that could soon change. We would like to go up to 250. I have since sent a letter to our chief judge asking for that ability.
