Breaking news in Prince Georges County. Weve been telling you about that discrimination complaint filed against the Police Department. Tracee wilkins is learning a lot more about whats inside that complaint. Shes live at police headquarters. Reporter for about a week communication with the Prince Georges CountyPolice Department about photos that we obtained that are included in that u. S. Doj complaint. These photos show what some officers claim to be racially insensitive pictures. Today we contacted the department and let them know that we were doing a story where we would include those pictures. And just a little while ago the Police Department released those pictures to all media. And they are now saying theres going to be a 4 30 press conference where they address these photos. The u. S. Department of justice is reviewing a case filed by some Prince Georges County alleging discrimination within the Police Department. Yesterday representatives with the dojs Community Service division met with officer filed the complaint. There is still no word on whether the doj will officially investigate the filing, now reportedly including up to 90 officers. Some of the report alleges racial insensitivity within the departments ranks. There are a number of pictures included as examples of these alleged offenses. This picture of a training dummy wearing an afro wig with a black mans face taped it is one example. Prince georges county spokesmen say they were not the only officers with access to this facility. These license plates seem to read go ef yourself obama. The plates were recalled after a citizen complained. In reviewing the records of the Motor Vehicle administration, it has come to our attention that personalized plate gfyobma has been issued in error. After our inquiries the mva went onto say records indicate that the personalized plate was not returned. Therefore mva will send a pickup detail to retrieve the plates. A spokesperson told me that that officer who had those plates, the private citizen, has also pointed out the fact that maryland did give the officer those plates. The mva is saying this is largely an Automated System and every once in a while an offensive plate will slip through the system. There are four big developments today from the trump administration. Why planners a kbaecompany wants to buil gas pipeline beneath the potomac. But environmental groups fear a negative impact on the environment. They want to build it in hancock, maryland, near the West Virginia and pennsylvania border. It could affect Drinking Water in that area and in d. C. As well. Residents in this area have voiced concerns about a proposal to put an underground natural gas pipeline right beneath where were standing, cutting through underneath the Potomac River and into West Virginia. Proponents of the pipeline say its needed to provide natural gas to people in West Virginia. It will come all the way from pennsylvania. The people here in maryland say its not going to serve them but theyre going to take all the risks and they dont want it. Theyre fearful that a rupture in the pipeline could harm their Drinking Water. Many of the homes in this area get their water from wells. Theres further concern that because people down river in d. C. Get their water from the potomac, a problem up here could affect the Drinking Water for millions of people. Proponents of this pipeline say theres nothing to worry about. We do a lot of studies ahead of time. We want to be a Good Neighbor here for a very long time. Reporter were a long way before the pipeline breaks ground. It has to get federal and approval from the National Park service. Residents say theyre going to fight this every step of the way. This currently is the jet stream across the united states, big ridge of High Pressure to the west, big trough of low pressure to the east. That brings the cold air across the east. This is what i was expecting for most of the season of winter. What have we seen . Well, the jet stream has been completely different,o thats why portland and seattle have had incredible snowy winters. Thats why areas like tahoe have seen feet of snow, ten feet. That jet stream coming through the pacific does not tap into any of the colder air towards canada. That cold air is locked up to the north bringing the jet stream to our north and north of chicago, boston, new york, all experiencing extremely warm winters. January, extremely warm month. The 12th warmest january ever. February also starting extremely warm with the exception of today and tomorrow. How much snow have we seen . Just 1. 4 inches of snow. We need that jet stream to change if were going to get more snow. Its possible, but not probable. Looking at it right now, my snowfall totals may end up on the low side. Even as we look to the next too, we really have kind of historically until february 18th to get potentially a big storm around here. We go past february 18th on this tenday.
