Were getting a more detailed picture of the copilot of the flight who a prosecutor blamed this morning for intentionally crashing the plane. 27yearold Andreas Lubitz had been a copilot for just 18 months but he obtained a gliders pilots license as a teenager and joined lufthansa in 2008 to begin training to become a commercial pilot. He seemed to be enjoying his job when he visited the club last fall. Investigators are looking at everything from possible family issues to financial trouble, possible motives for the crash. As of now, nothing stands out as a clear reason for lubitz to take down that plane. At the live desk Scott Mcfarlane. Right now investigators are poring through every dae death tail of the copilots life to find a motive. And for reasons they have not explained they are focusing on the personal rather than political. The crash raises new questions about airline safety. So did the safeguards put in place to protect the crew contribute to the disaster . One person is dead and several others injured after powerful storms and tornados tore through state last night. Jay gray reports from moore, oklahoma, where residents are forced to pick up the pieces once again just two years after a tornado wreaked havoc across their town. Reporter the damage is severe and widespread. Tornado on the ground. Reporter after a string of tornadoes unleashed their fury across the oklahoma plains. Get it on video. Reporter at least one of those twisters following an alltoofamiliar path through the city of moore. This is basically deja vu all over again. Fortunately for us this was not a major occurrence like the last one was. Reporter the last one was a massive f5 tornado that killed 24 injured dozens and left this community in ruins. This time while the damage is intense, everyone in moore survived and a day later many are seeing signs of hope and recovery here. Weve been down this road before. We know what to do. Reporter the most Severe Damage came as a powerful twister ripped through the tulsa suburb of sand springs. Didnt just hit the ground and moved. It was jumping around. Reporter shattering this community of mobile homes, killing one of the residents inside. A few miles away, though somehow there were no serious injuries when this gymnastic studio collapsed with 60 to 70 people inside. It is a miracle. God was watching over aim high academy and every single one of the kids in this building last night. Reporter now thousands are moving back into the areas hardest hit. People are survivors here. Were very resilient and were going to continue to be. Reporter a resilience and strength again, being pushed to its limits here. A 3yearold child is dead in virginia after a train hit the car driven by the father. This happened along a rural Mountain Road near elliston in Montgomery County between roanoke and blacksburg. The father and two other children are being treated for serious injuries. The crossing was marked with signs but has no lights no crossing gate. They risked their own lives and personal safety to help communities and businesses. At least one person is dead this afternoon after semi truck collided with an overpass on a texas interstate. The rig was too high to clear part of that overpass and as you see hit a beam causing parts of the overpass to collapse onto moving traffic. Dartmouth students are accused of physically branding new members as an oldtime rampk rancher might have branded cattle leaving a lasting mark or scar on the skin. They did that part part of our initiation for our fraternity but it wasnt a real brand but you were blindfolded and they had a piece of dry ice and they put it on your leg, then they had a branding iron and a piece of meat so you smelled your flesh burning.
