They pointed out there were 1200 text and emails sent between maureen mcdonal and williams between april of 2011 and february of 2013, some of those coming late at night. Thats exactly what Maryland State Police say one of their own cadets did this morning. As you mentioned, it started a deadly Chain Reaction crash. Chopper 4 flying over the aftermath near the route 50 exit about 8 30 this morning. It happened when a young Maryland State Police cadet made a u turn from the emergency crossover from the inner loop to the fast lane of the outer loop. He stepped on the gas and lost control of the ford expedition. He was accelerating when the investigation indicates he sideswiped a 2000 lincoln driven by a Prince Georges County woman. That lincoln lost control and crashed into the jersey wall on the shoulder. Reporter the driver of the lincoln, 59yearold Karen Holt Williams of temple hills was taken to Prince Georges Hospital and pronounced dead. A third vehicle was involved, but they were not hurt. Was he authorized to make that turn from the inner loop to the outer loop . As a cadet, he does not have police authority. Itis something the investigators will be looking at.
