Gay and lesbians in the state still cant get married until the case is resolved. Virginia now has 21 days to decide if it wants to appeal the case. The states attorney general has already said he wont defend the ban. He just spoke at a press conference. Today is yet another victory for the principle of equality that is so central to the American Experience and i am proud that the commonwealth of virginia is leading on one of the most important civil rights issues of our day. He believes it will be decided by the supreme court. A federal Circuit Court made a similar ruling in oklahoma. The governor there said she will appeal. Right now in richmond jury selection is underway in the corruption trial of former Virginia GovernorBob Mcdonnell and his wife. Lawyers are going through a jury pool of 150 people. Before today the potential jurors had to fill out questionnaires. They are accused of taking more than 150,000 in gifts and loans from a wealthy businessman. Prosecutors say they did so in exchange for promoting his dietary supplement company. A Good Samaritan being credited with stopping a guy from being snatched from a guy pretending to be a Police Officer. A 12yearold girl was walking with her 8yearold brother when a man approached them. Witnesses say michael long was trying to separate the girl from the brother. Police say he would have taken the girl if a Good Samaritan wouldnt have stepped in. As much as i would like to talk about how we made a quick arrest the story in my mind is the courageous and heroic Good Samaritan who stepped in here and really prevented what could have been a horrible tragedy. Prince georges county bureau chief speaks with that Good Samaritan. An uber driver has been suspended. The alleged attack happened earlier this month. Police say the driver picked the woman up at a club and then assaulted her near rhode island avenue and 14th street northwest. Sergeant azari and his wife and 9yearold daughter were taking a walk on the beach when a Small Plane Crash landed near them. Her mother was so distraught he had to be hospitalized. A matter of minutes between the time that the power was alerted, the Sheriffs Office was alerted and then police department, everybody was enroute to respond. Its not clear whether sergeant iziari and daughter were hit by the plane or by debris. The pilot and his passenger were not injured. Philadelphia Police Questioning about a carjacking that left three children dead.
