Take a closer look at the culvert which provides an important connection between east and west beach drive and you get a different perspective. From the road, you cant see what lies beneath. What lies beneath is serious stuff. Look up. You can see how much has been washed out over time. Ddot did some inspections last month. They came down here and have blue markings all over the culvert. They are all new problem spots they have found. Things that have to be missed. Ddot is in the final stages of finding a contractor to come in and rehab the structure. The road is actually leaning. Ddot does say the road up is safe. The cracks are growing wider. Its not that its unsafe, but its a precautionary measure, removing the weight of the traffic from the areas where the cracking is growing to the more secure part of the culvert.
