Already tracking damaging winds in part of the areas, getting reports of trees down in parro parr parts of gerrit and loudoun. These are very powerful and potentially dangerous winds moving into the area. Were talking about gusts in hagerstown. These strong winds pushing into washington within the hour. So heres the latest. The orange is thunderstorm warnings, not for storm but for wind. Kind of a lot of confusion on social media right now. Nonetheless, as this line of rain moves through, this is marking the leading very strong winds. Again, already getting reports of trees down across the area. This will continue to be the trend not just overnight tonight but throughout the day tomorrow. So heres the arrival for damaging winds. Bethesda at 11 10, annapolis, 1130. The counting in orange are under a very serious highwind warning running until 6 00 p. M. Tomorrow evening for wind gusts around 60 miles an hour. Not only wind damage, but well be tracking some spotty Power Outages and wait until you see how cold its going to feel tomorrow morning with these winds. We are tracking breaking news out of northern california. Water overflowing at one of the nations biggest dams. Emergency officials saying the oroville dam could fail at any moment. Everyone at a nearby town of 16,000 people have been asked to leave. The water began flowing over the emergency spillway yesterday after heavy rain damaged the main spillway. It is, in fact, the first time in th that has happened. The dam supplies water for agriculture in the Central Valley and to residents and businesses in southern california. D. C. Police are looking for a young boy. Miguel escobar. Hes 14 years old, and hes been missing since wednesday. Escobar was last seen on hole brook terrace in northeast. Reporter just after 9 00 passengers landed from austin from sfo explaining when they boarded their flight, the pilot had some unusual announcements. The pilot is late. The captain is late and she shows up dressed like a civilian and asked us to take a vote to see whether we should have her change into her uniform or fly as is. Pam oneill says passengers werent sure what was happening. She started off by saying she had not voted for either trump or clinton because theyre a bunch of liars. Reporter passengers say she mentioned a divorce and some other issues and at that point some of them didnt feel comfortable enough to fly. After that hand, half the plane probably deplaned. Then yeuned acted accordingly. Reporter a Youtube Video was posted and taken down of a woman believed to be the pilot in a baseball cap talking to passengers. We contacted the woman who shot the video but she publicized, echoing other passengers concerns for the pilot oh well bel. I feel very bad for her and the situation shes under. Reporter united offer a statement. We hold our employees to the highest standards and have replaced this pilot with a new one to operate the flight, which is scheduled to depart shortly. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience. Some of the passengers talked with the pilot as she left the plane crying. She apologized to them and one even hugged her and said that it seemed like she was having a nervous breakdown. Nearly three months after a boating accident on potomac river, crews have recovered the body of a missing fisherman. The boat sank in st. Marys county, but today roger grissomes body washed ashore 63 miles away on the virginia shoreline. That according to maryland police. Grissome was on a boat with three other fishermen when it sank in november. Only one man survived. A localrc save one of the last pieces of a long gone community in bethesda. Crow hill along river road was settled by former slaves just after the civil war. The Macedonia Baptist Church is the last piece of history there of that community. Winds this strong produce some wind damage as were already seeing, some Power Outages, actually seeing our lights flicker here in the studio. As this line is moving through, i suspect thats the reason. Also windchills tomorrow in the 20s and 30s. As we look to the rest of the work week, its mainly dry but chilly, and then next weekend its a long weekend. President s day, and its actually looking really nice. But we have to get back to the winds. So this evening they were breezy. As we move into the overnight hours, extremely windy, feeling like temperatures are in the 20s and 30s.
