We have Live Team Coverage on the metro safety concerns and the latest on the School Shooting suspect Police Identified in the last half hour. We begin with problems on metro. Two fiery situations shut down the station. Cameras caught the fire ball on the platform and they are installing new parts underground. Jackie bensen is live with what same station but the first scary one that caused the shutdown. On the platt form, shiny insulators were lined up ready to replace a lot of old, crumbling ones. These two there was an evacuation after some type of debris came in contact with the third rail. It created a smoky fire and burning smell. It happened as metro was already putting a plan in to place to close the station because of this video. Surveillance cameras captured the sparks and fire at 7 15 this morning. We will replace all of those porcelain insulators at this station so we can reopen tomorrow. Thats what we are doing tonight. Cap closed for now for the trains to make the turn around. Thats why it is closed. Orange, blue and Silver Line Service was suspended from Lenfant Plaza to eastern market. Platforms grew massively crowded. Metro employees were stationed outside to direct riders. These two visitors from chicago were shaking their head. This is our countries capital and didnt think this would be an issue. Now we have to take a taxi. Were told the station will be open in time for the system reopening tomorrow we saw photos of crowded platforms including this one in rosslyn. The trains were packed. I think thats just it. It is unbelievable. You never think when you are getting on a metro train you would have to deal with Something Like that. By the way, if you look close enough, the sparks arent just in one section of the track. They are actually in the tunnel, as well. That means there were a couple of sections at Federal Center southwest that had a major night about the metro safety announcement tomorrow. What do you expect to hear, and what do riders need to hear from the gm . This couldnt be worse timing, a worse setup for what the general manager will tell the entire region tomorrow. The deadly violence broke out at High Point High School in beltsville, maryland. Shomari stone spoke to students who witnessed the shooting and is joining us from the scene. Reporter many tell me they were terrified. They took shelter inside the school, concerned about what was going on. Meanwhile, right now, Prince Georges County police are searching for the suspect. Everyone was just crying, we didnt know what to do. Police say 44yearold gladys drove in this black suv to pick up her daughters after school 4 40 this evening. Her estranged husband ulalio in front of the school. Another man saw what was going on and got involved. As he approached themale, who was accosting the woman, the male produced a handgun. Reporter and opened fire. He shot the man in the shoulder and police say he turned to the woman and shot her several times. She died at the scene. It was chaotic after that. With her mothers permission, this student says she saw the shooting. She had just walked outside with the victims daughter when the shots rang out. She walked outside and the gunshots were heard. We had to pull her back inside. Reporter you are saying her mother was killed . Yes. Reporter the worried parents waited outside for their kids while the school was on lockdown. Scary. You dont know what is going on. You are hearing from other parents, make sure nothing is wrong with your kid. It happened here. It is very hard. Part of the order says in 1976 a child told paterno he was molested by sandusky. The order mentions assistant coaches witnessing sexual contact between sandusky and children in 1988 and 1987. The claims were made in an ongoing insurance case which penn state is trying to be reimbursed for 60 million it paid in civil claims per and thing to sandusky.
