You notice Howard County Montgomery County parts of Loudoun County and everybody off to the west including our friends down to the Northern Neck with wind chills potentially near that negative 10 number early tomorrow morning. Now, right now were still seeing those winds gusting upwards of 30 to 40 Miles Per Hour. Well continue to see those. Look at the current wind chill. 7 in d. C. 1 in gaithersburg 4 below in hagerstown and near zero towards winchester. Theyre only going to go down as we move on through the night tonight. Look at this wind advisory in effect for Loudoun County Prince William county and everybody to the east including most of the state of maryland also back to the shenandoah valley. Theres breaking news out of california tonight. 22 marines have been hospitalized after being exposed to fireretardant gas during a training exercise. It happened at the Marine Corps Air Ground Center at Twentynine Palms outside of los angeles. The fire extinguisher system went off accidentally in an assault vehicle. Prosecutors say 152 women were found on a hidden video taken by a local rabbi who has been accused of voyeurism. Sources tell news 4 police have identified 152 women who were secreted recorded with a camera here dating back as far as 2009. 88 women were recorded in the past three years. 64 more than three years ago. Police arrested the prominent rabbi last october. Hes charged with voyeurism, thats a misdemeanor, for allegedly taping six nude women. Last night his alleged victims discussed a possible pleawith prosecutors. Tonight sources tell us prosecutors will not settle for probation. They want rabbi freundel to do jail time. Well hear from a woman who was allegedly recorded by the rabbi. She was at last nights meeting with prosecutors. Im just im very shocked. Im shocked, and its just an amazing amount of victims. Reporter now, rabbi freundel has pleaded not guilty. His next Court Appearance is next thursday. Live in georgetown im shomari stone, news 4. New at 11 00, firefighters in warrenton, virginia are looking for the cause of this fire that started around 7 00 tonight at an auction and Storage Facility for antiques. We found twitter users posting pictures and videos of the fire. Were told the firefighters were able to quickly get the flames under control but freezing temperatures caused water to freeze on the road. Nobody was injured. Some students in Prince Georges County will be going to different schools next year. Tonight the school board voted to close Thomas Claggett Elementary School and to turn kenmoor elementary into an Early Childhood center just two of against closing the schools. The closing and transitions will begin at the end of this school year. As part of that same vote the board also approved moving some sixth grade classes from Elementary Schools to middle schools. Studies have shown sixth graders perform better when in a middle school setting. The shift affects only about 200 students right now but eventually the board wants to move every middle school in the county to a sixth through eighth grade model. A woman accused of murdering a Virginia Tech student has entered whats called an alford plea. Jessica ewing admits they have enough evidence to convict her and the case will go straight to sentencing. She was charged with strangling a woman to death last year. Tresta was from virginia. Ewing is facing 25 years to life in prison. One of the suspects in a brazen robbery in chantilly is in custody tonight. Hes one of two men who tried to rob an armored car. There was a shootout and one of the suspects was hit four times. The men got away but Police Caught up to them several miles away. The suspect who was shot is in critical condition. Police are asking for help in identifying what they call a person of interest in the murder of a d. C. Lawyer in a hotel in thomas circle. David messerschmidt was found stabbed to death at the Donovan Hotel on tuesday. The best clue they have so far is Surveillance Video of a person wandering around the hotel on monday night. Sources tell news 4 police are looking into the possibility that messerschmitt was set up. Tonight we take a look at the mental condition of a fairfax inmate who died in police custody. The case is now under review. Some believe Natasha Mckenna should not have been in jail. 37yearold Natasha Mckenny of alexandria had suffered from Mental Illness for many years but managed with the support of her family. She became arrested after she became disruptive when she tried to return a rental car. She ran when police arrived. When they caught up with her at a nearby home depot, they say she fought and punched the officers. They decided to send her to a Psychiatric Hospital unit in alexandria. Mckenna was served with a felony warrant, taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where she remained until a team of deputies performed what they call a cell extraction when she refused to come out of her isolation cell. Thats when the taser was used multiple times and mckenna stopped breathing. I cant speak to the specifics of the case in this individual. Reporter peter early is an author and advocate for the mentally ill. I think based on the family pictures bruising on the arm, two black eyes a missing finger i mean this was a violent exchange. R sources tell news 4 that the first officers who responded to the jail for a report that an inmate was unconscious and not breathing were turned away told their assistance was not needed. Those sources say it was not until four or five days later when mckenna died that detectives were able to begin their investigation. Jackie bensen news 4. Local veterans are reacting to a new tax legislation backed by marylands governor larry hogan. It would eliminate the state income taxes that veterans pay on their military pensions. Governor hogan announced that plan today during a gathering at an American Legion post in greenbelt, maryland. The governor said the tax would be phased in over four years and he urged the veterans there to help him lobby for it. New at 11 00, the fbi says its opening an inquiry into the killings of three university of North Carolina students. Dozens gathered in Dupont Circle tonight to show solidarity with the unc community and to call for a hate crime investigation. Police say the students all muslim were killed in an argument over a parking spot but friends are concerned that religion could be a motive. And it was fate that helped save a local pastor on the brink of death. Two men are in jail tonight after investigators say they literally took the bait offered by a local Police Department. Chris lawrence is live at the newsdesk with more. It involves cell phones but it started with a big problem in chevy chase village, people breaking into cars at night. So the police put a bait car on the street. Looks like any other except its outfitted with hidden cameras and microphones to Start Recording when someone tampers with the car. This morning a man took the bait and video youre seeing was streamed live to the Police Department where a dispatcher got a clean, closeup look at the thief. Village Police Officers headed to the scene along with Montgomery Countys k9 units. The suspects were hiding in a yard but ran off in different directions. Officers did have to chase them down but they got them. They were easy to identify because of a still image to the bait car. Send that image to the officers smartphones, so as theyre looking for someone that has run away when somebody says this wasnt me they go how about this . Maybe this is you. When they found these two men they also found items from about four other cars that they believe had been broken into in the area. In the newsroom im chris lawrence. Tonight can faith heal . Thats what some areter a pastor made a miraculous recovery. I try not to go back there a lot simply because i thought i was asleep for a night. And here it was three to four weeks later. When michael freeman, pastor of spirit of Faith Christian center awoke in his hospital bed, he says he had no idea he almost died. And you kind of wake up and they tell you youre in a different month. Reporter but what he thought was a common cold turned out to be an aggressive pneumonia that was attacking his lungs. Doctors said there was nothing more they could do for him, but his wife delorous didnt give up. I was never frightened. I was never worried. I was never concerned. Reporter at the suggestion of a Family Member they reached out to Medstar Washington Hospital Center wre this have a program called ecmo short for extracorp reeal membrane oxygenation. Its a machine thats typically used for patients whose hearts wont pump. But some hospitals use it for patients like pastor freeman whose lungs arent working. This cardiac surgeon runs the program. In a situation like this what the pump does is replaces the function of the lungs. Reporter ecmo works by withdrawing the patients blood, pumping oxygen into it then returning it to the body. In pastor freemans case it can give the lungs time to heal. Once we decide to institute Something Like ecmo we know the risk of that patient dying is around 50 . I didnt cry, i didnt feel like crying didnt want to cry. I said i dont have time to cry. Im in a fight. Im going to fight for life. Reporter pastor freeman stayed on the ecmo machine for three weeks and just when doctors were beginning to give up his lunns started to heal. He was going to live. Dr. Molina says one remarkable thing about this case. Even though the pastor was close to death, his family never doubted his survival. I personally truly believe that they must have an impact on him in the final outcome. He is where he is today because of the combination of care that was my faith and with the doctors. Reporter this is pastor freeman the day he came back to his church surrounded by a cheering congregation overcome with emotion. Though his lungs are still healing, he says this experience has made him feel more alive than ever. Im Getting Better every day. Thats my confession. Any day above ground is a good day, and i feel great to be alive. They were glad to see him back. Dr. Molina tells us that most hospitals in this region dont have an ecmo program. Thats because its very complicated and requires a lot of training and experience to use. Good for him. So how low are we now doug . Right now were between zero and minus five. Thats the wind chill. Were going to continue to see extreme cold any time of the year. By noon were up around 10. Thats it. Tomorrows definitely a day to eat that lunch indoors. The newspaper reports that he collapsed in his office and died at a New York Hospital today. Carr wrote about Business Culture and government. He spent some time here in d. C.
