investigating a shooting in prince george's county that ended with a victim in the district. the victim drove himself to the police station in southeast d.c. that's where rescue workers found him and took him to the hospital. police do not know what the motive may be or who might be behind the shooting. today the lululemon store will reopen for the first time since one employee was found dead and another charged with her murder. police found jayna murray dead inside the store in march. melissa mollet is live with how the store will honor her memory. >> reporter: good morning to you. this reopening is a rebirth of sorts for the lululemon store here in bethesda. the theme for this bethesda store is now love. you can see it in script up there next to the lululemon logo. the front of the store looking very, very different from the way it's looked over the past couple of months. once a shrine stacked with flowers and notes, balloons and candles. the paper has now been pulled from the windows as we get a glimpse inside this renovated store. the reopening comes more than three months after 30-year-old murray was killed inside. her coworker, 28-year-old brittany norwood, has been charged in the murder, and norwood originally told police she and murray were assaulted by two men who then tied her up and killed murray. police arrted her within one week of the murder. since jayna's death, windows here, of course, have been papered over, and vigils have been held in her name. we spoke with a bethesda resident just a little while ago. she says she's sure jayna would want the store to reopen. >> >> absolutely. i know her parents would want it to reopen too. i think it's a great shine and a great memorial. i think it's the best thing that ever happened. i really do. >> reporter: lots of people agreeing they believe the store should be reopened in jayna's honor. her family is expected to be here for today's reopening and ceremony inside the store. also on saturday, tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m., a large group of people expected to show up here in bethesda, actually just across the street from the lululemon store here to hold a yoga class at 9:00 a.m. in jayna's honor. live in the news room, melissa mollet, news 4. back to you. officials lifted a tsunami warning after a massive earthquake hit off the south western coast of alaska. the massive quake went off triggering a tsunami warning. there have been no reports of any injuries or damage. this morning we're learning more about the evidence against the man who triggered last week's security scare near the pentagon and is now charged with last year's shootings at military installations in northern virginia. prosecutors say they found bomb making materials in yonathan melaku's backpack and a list of potential bomb components in his home as well as a video that prosecutors say he recorded showing himself firing shots outside the marine corps museum. that was one of four targets struck last fall. prosecutors say they may file more charges against him. >> more problems for arlington national cemetery and now another investigation. army investigators want to know why 69 boxes of burial records were found in a commercial storage facility. the information came out during a congressional hearing yesterday. last year an army inspector general report found widespread problems with how arlington is managed. they found at least 200 discrepancies between burial maps and grave sites. today house republicans want to cut off all military action for drone attacks and air strikes. they say there was no congressional authorization to continue beyond 90 days. a separate u.s. resolution would allow u.s. participation in libya for another year. president obama told lawmakers that missions in libya did not need authorization from congress because operations were just assisting nato. a soldier from illinois will receive one of the military's most prestigious awards, the purple heart. the ceremony will take place at walter reed where the soldier is recovering from surgery in afghanistan. it will be one of the last purple heart ceremonies ever held at the hospital. it's scheduled to close later this year. 6:06 is the time. some analysts say the wizards are the big winners from draft night last night. the new additions to the team. the controversial arrests at a public meeting in d.c. why contract extension. riggleman has been managing on a series of one-year contracts since taking the job in 2009, and he's one of the lowest paid managers in baseball. riggleman says he deserves better. 54% favor ability rating. she is set to formally kick off her campaign on monday. meanwhile, support for former house speaker newt gingrich is heading in the wrong direction. his ratings dropped to 43% after his campaign staff quit, and reports came out of his lavish jewelry account with tiffany's. as new york's legislature takes up same-sex marriage today, president obama stopped just short of offering his full support at a fund-raiser for gay donors last month. >> i believe that discrimination because of somebody's sexual orientation or gender identity ran counter to who we are as a people. and it's a violation of the basic tenets on which this nation was founded. >> right now same-sex marriage is legal in five states plus d.c. if new york's legislature approves it, it would become the largest state to do so. the critical discussions about raising the u.s. debt ceiling are at a standstill. republican leaders got up and walked out on the debt talks. now vice president joe biden says it is up to the president and top congressional leaders to decide how to proceed. democrats want to reduce long-term deficits by cutting spending and increasing tax revenue. republicans say tax hikes will not be part of negotiations. the treasury department warns, if the ceiling is not raised by august, the u.s. risks falling into default. you can't arrest me for reporting. >> take a look at this video. journalists pete tucker and jim epstein were arrested on thursday when they tried to record a meeting of the taxicab commission of the the crowd in the room noticed the commotion and reacted loudly. the two were later released and not charged. tucker says he will continue to cover the commission. >> definitely. i mean, this is my -- this is what i've been covering, and this is the house computer. she said she meant to type chlorophyll while researching why her dogs were lethargic after eating plants in the backyard. and they testified the stain in the vehicle was there when they bought it, not from a decomposing body. casey anthony is accused of kill her 2-year-old daughter caylee. the defense claims the daughter drowned in the backyard swimming pool. the feud between mark zuckerberg creator of facebook and the winklevoss twins is not over yet. they filed suit to undue a settlement deal. they claim it was based on a wrongful estimate of how much facebook is worth. it was thought the suit ended because the winklevosses are not appealing to the supreme court. they are harvard classmates of zuckerberg and claim he stole their idea. what couriers is revealing this all see prices at the pump drop sateadily over the net few days. several countries, including the u.s., releasing petroleum from the oil reserves. tracee, good morning to you. >> reporter: this could mean that gas will be a lot cheaper at the pumps the next month or so. that's the sad part. you're going to have to wait at least a month for it to happen. the international atomic energy agency is going to relief 500,000 barrels of oil. normally we reserve this oil for emergencies, but they're hoping but putting all this oil into the market, it will settle some of the gas prices charged by the libyan crisis. it still could be at least a month before we see these prices change here at the pump. customers we talked to say better late than never. >> any way we can save some money, i'm willing. i've been paying gas prices -- i remember when this was $1.50. now gas costs more than milk. >> reporter: do you mind that it's being taken from our emergency reserve? >> probably not a good idea, to be honest. gas prices are really high. it's hurting a lot of people. so i don't know. >> reporter: do you think you'll drive more this summer if gas is cheaper? >> probably. >> i just want prices to go down. i'm spending $700 a month in gas to get to work. whatever makes prices go down, i'm happy. >> reporter: in may, it was $3.95 for a gallon of regular. right now $3.65 is the average. so 50 cents cheaper sounds good. a year ago it was a dollar cheaper than it is now. tracy wee wilkins live in capit heights. back to you in the studio. >> we just got numbers from aaa. gas prices dropped a penny overnight to $3.92 in the district. at $3.49, virginia drivers are paying two cents less today. in west virginia, the average went down a penny to $3.64. anyone hopping on an amtrak train is doing so with fingers crossed. the company is trying to figure out what's behind the power problems that are causing disruptions along the heavily traveled northeast corridor. during last night's rush, amtrak had to hold up some trains for 90 minutes. it's been a recurring problem all week. the power issues are between philadelphia and new york. this morning the husband of a falls church, virginia council member is charged with sexual battery. michael gardner is accused of abusing three young girls all under the age of 13. the girls say he had inappropriate physical contact with him at his home last week. his wife is robin gardner, a council member and former city mayor. michael gardner appeared in court yesterday and was granted a $50,000 bond. a convicted killer's attorney says he will appeal a fairfax county judge's decision to sentence his client to death. mark lawlor was sentenced yesterday. a judge convicted him in february of killing genevieve orange with a hammer in her apartment and sexually assaulting her three years ago. his lawyer says he should not have been convicted of capital murder because he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time and was not aware of what he was doing. lawlor is the second man in fairfax county to be sentenced to death in the last ten years. this morning authorities say they've done all they can to protect sewer and water surface from the flooding souris river in south dakota. water is expected to rise to its highest point this weekend. the city's mayor says dikes have been raised as much as possible, and he's confident the water plan is protected. meanwhile officials expanded the evacuation zone, which now includes more than 10,000 people. >> last time it was let's pray the levees hold. this time it's doesn't matter whether they hold. it's going to go over it. >> floodwaters are expected to reach levels not seen since 1881. death of osama bin laden is generating new leads and more questions for pakistan's intelligence agency. "the new york times" reports that the cell phone of osama bin laden's trusted courier contained contacts to a militant group that's described as a longtime asset of pakistan's intelligence agency. [ male announcer ] the inspiration for its shape was an archer drawing his bow. ♪ could that have also inspired its 556 horsepower supercharged engine? ♪ the all-new cadillac cts-v coupe. we don't just make luxury cars, we make cadillacs. 6:46 is your time. today the lululemon store where employee jayna murray was murdered. it has been closed since march. another coworker is charged with her death. news 4's melissa mollet is live with how the store will honor her memory. >> reporter: good morning. i just spoke with lululemon corporate officials. they're telling us they're not going to have an official ceremony inside the store, but the store has been dedicated in jayna's memory with love emblazoned across the store, and things are very, very different inside the store. we just spoke with a contractor who completed these renovations over the past couple months. he says the only thing that's the same inside the lululemon store is the placement of the bathrooms and the placement of the fitting rooms. they're still waiting at this hour on a 7:00 a.m. inspection by the fire marshal so they can reopen by 10:00. this reopening comes nearly three months after 30-year-old jayna murray was murdered by her coworker brittany norwood. norwood ornlly told police she and murray were assaulted by two men and tied her up and then killed murray. norwood was arrested within one week of this murder. one resident says she knows in her heart that jayna would want the store to reopen. >> i think she would want it to be reopened. i really do. just for her memory. >> reporter: now, jayna's family is expected to be out here for today's reopening. also saturday a large crowd expected out here. lululemon hosting a community yoga class just across the street from where we're standing right now at bethesda row. everyone is welcome to attend this event at 9:00 a.m. it will be in jayna's honor. melissa mollet, news 4, back to you. mobster james "whitey" bulger will soon be heading back to boston. bulger and his longtime girlfriend catherine greig appeared in a los angeles courtroom yesterday a day after they were arrested in santa monica. the pair had been on the run for 16 years. bulger was remanded to massachusetts to face federal charges. meanwhile, there is speculation this morning that bulger may be behind another notorious crime spree. several websites are wondering whether he might also be the geezer bandit, the nickname given to an elderly man linked to more than a dozen robberies in california over the past six years. that is just speculation at this point. metro fares will not be going up in the immediate future. the metro board of directors just approved a $2.5 billion budget for the upcoming fiscal year. it does not include fare hikes or cuts to service. it does clut a 50 cent increase of bus to rail and rail to bus transfers on specific routes. the bus also includes a new metro bus route between buzz art point and gallery place and additional service on the route between boston and bancroft. montgomery county may have its first charter school. outgoing school superintendent jerry weast recommends the county board of education approve one of two charter school applications it's received for the 2012/2013 school year. that application is for the community montessori public charter school. the board of education will begin considering the applications next monday. this morning congress is looking at different ways to try to save the postal service. cnbc's brian schachman joins us live. >> good morning. republican congressman darrell issa has introduced a sweeping bill to overhaul the u.s. postal service. he says the action is needed to prevent another taxpayer bailout of the financially strapped agency. the bill would eliminate saturday delivery and give the postal service the ability to close some locations. the postal service has been hurt by the downturn in mail volume during the recession. e-mail and billions of dollars in pension obligations. here's a fascinating one. how about the vatican going green?
