romney is predicting he'll come out in top. he told a crowd in wisconsin he will probably win the nomination. in the state-by-state battle to accumulate the more than 1,100 delegates needed to win the presidential nomination, romney has an estimated 565 delegates. that's according to real clear politics. wisconsin senator ron johnson is endorsing mitt romney. he made the announcement on "meet the press." johnson pointed to romney's experience in the private sector as a major reason for backing the candidate. in a statement, romney said he looked forward to working with the senator on the campaign trail. and presidential hopeful rick santorum says he will not drop out of the race for president if he loses tomorrow's primaries. the former pennsylvania senator vowed to stay in until it is clear that romney secured the delegates required for the nomination. santorum faces an uphill battle. so far romney has won 54% of the delegates at stake, putting him on track to reach the 1,144 delegates needed by the end of june. santorum has won 27% of the delegates at stake. that means he would need to win 74% of the remaining delegates to cinch the nomination. 4:35. a major donor to suspected gunman accused of fraud and impersonating a bank official. he contributed more than $50,000 to obama's re-election effort this year. according to the "washington post," the new yorker is accused of defrauding a florida businessman out of $657,000. he also faces a court order to pay more than $10,000 in back rent for her former new york apartment. supporters of bringing a casino to prince george's county trying to win over state delegates now. according to the "washington post," advocates are considering several amendments to support pending legislation. one would set a higher investment from developers than already required. another amendment could include road improvements. prince george's county is pushing for a casino at the national harbor. the maryland senate gave preliminary approval to a gaming expansion bill. that bill would allow for a sixth casino in maryland and would legalize table games. wind energy in maryland will get a circle of support in annapolis tonight. backers of offshore wind development will hold a rally at the maryland state house. supporters plan to gather in a circle around the building, and they'll hold a glow in the dark miniature wind turbine and wear electric blue t-shirts. a wind energy sibilia in the senate finance committee after the house approved its version last week. today, towson university will remember two students who died within 12 hours of each other over the weekend. a vigil will be held for 20-year-old ryan bailey and 27-year-old timothy coyer. bailey was hit by a car near washington avenue and york road early saturday in towson. coyer, a an iraq war veteran, was found dead in his apartment by roommate. his death does not appear to be suspicious. an autopsy is underway to determine how he died. breaking news now, a plane carrying 43 people crashed shortly after takeoff in siberia overnight. russia's emergencies ministry says 32 people were killed. 11 people have been taken to the hospital. at least five of the survivors are in critical condition. the atr-72 turbo crop aircraft just wlft it crashed and burst into flames. it's not sure what caused the crash. ahead students head back to class for the first time since a deadly tornado in henryville, indiana. last month's twister damaged henryville's junior and senior high schools. students will finish the school year in scottburg. drawing, but don't throw out the welcome back. 15 before the hour. this morning we're getting a look at new satellite image of a north korean rocket site. north korea says it's preparing for a space launch. some in washington are calling it a cover for a long-range missile test. the images show a mobile radar trailer and rows of what appear to be empty fuel and oxidizer tanks. north korean leaders say the launch will put a functional satellite into orbit sometime between april 12 and april 16. this is part of the celebration of the 100th birthday of the late leader, kim il-sung. the u.s., russia, south korea, and china have condemned the planned launch. an historic day in myanmar as former political prisoner is now part of the country's parliament. aung san suu kyi won her election yesterday as parts of the national league for democracy party. the nobel peace prize winner was under house arrest for close to 20 years before being released in 2010. she has pushed for democracy in myanmar. she hopes to work with the government to help bring real change to her country. secretary of state hillary clinton has a stern warning for syria's president -- put together a peace proposal or else. secretary clinton joined other world officials from the arab league and european union in turkey as part of the friends of syria conference. they discussed how best to defend rebel forces while brokering a peace deal between the president and president bashir assad. clinton urged assad to either accept a peace plan or step down. >> we called for an immediate end to the killing in syria, and we urged the joint special envoy, kofi annan, to set a timetable for next steps. the world will not waiver. assad must go. and the syrian people must be free to choose their own path forward. >> clinton added that syria fasds additional sanctions and that the u.s. government plans to help the rebel forces by supplying them with communications equipment. more problems for the new orleans saints as players involved in that bounty scandal could face krj charges. the players association told the players involved that they should hire legal help if criminal charges do come. legal experts say it would be a difficult case as players would have to prove that a specific tackle caused an injury. the nfl says more than 20 defensive players were part of the saints' bounty program which gave out cash rewards to players who injured certain opponents. a technical problem being blamed for keep something visa customers from using their credit and debit cards. a spokesperson for visa said customers were not able to use their cards for about 45 minutes yesterday because of an update to the system. the problem has since been fixed. the incident is not related to friday's security breach. someone hacked global payments, a company that processes credit transactions for stores. visa and machtercard say they've notified their cardholders about the breach. the wife of the jetblue pilot whose outburst forced an emergency landing says he was not being intentionally violent toward anyone. connie osmon said she's focused on her husband's recovery and will not be giving any more yufrs. last week clayton osbon became belligerent during a flight and had to be restrained by passengers as the flight made an emergency landing in texas. jetblue officials say the crew will not speak publicly about the incident. a new report set to be released today says airline performance is better now than last year. the report based on 2011 data submitted to the department of transportation by the nation's 15 largest airlines. here are some of the highlights -- hawaii airlines took the top award with 92% of their flights on time or early. jetblue had the worst on-time performance. airtran had the best baggage handling rate. american eagle airlines had the worst baggage handling rate. southwest had the lowest customer complaint rate. and united airlines had the most have generated millions for virginia schools. the virginia lottery says tickets bought between late january and last friday raised more than $21 million for education. virginia retailers that sold tickets earned more than $2.4 million in profits. mega millions hopefuls bought more than 14 million lottery tickets on friday in virginia alone. three tickets hit the $640 million jackpot. they were "jack and jill" made a clean sweep at the razzies for the year's worst movies. for the first time in the 32 dwro -year history, "jack and jill" won all categories including worst picture. adam sandler won for worst actor and actress for his dual roles. he plays a family man and his pesky sister. i still like adam sandler, though. >> some other movie, though. on april fools' day, hundreds march nfd support of the mustache act. the american mustache institute organized the so-called million mustache march on capitol hill. not quite that many people showed up for the march and rally. they urged congress to pass the act, providing a $250 annual tax deduction for people who have mustaches. supporters say there are extra expenses that go into keeping mustaches clean and trimmed. this morning, keith olbermann is looking for a new job. the network current tv fired him. apparently the move comes after several meetings between olberman and former vice president al gore who founded the network. olberman had his own show on msnbc. "the daily beast" reports that olberman complained that current tv did not live up to its promise to supporting a professional cable news show. also reports he missed several shows. this morning, mitt romney is learning to trust his campaign staff all over again after aides pulled off an april fool's joke on their gop candidate. >> yeah. take a look at what happened when romney thought he was about to give a speech in a room packed with supporters in milwaukee. >> the next president of the united states!
