the sunshine, you'll be all right. on the shady side of the stadium, an extra layer wouldn't be a bad thing. >> everybody who walks in from outside brings a cold bubble with them. >> do they really? they need to come to the weather office. i'm always warm inthere. >> thank you, chuck. we are following a developing story in calvert county, maryland, where they are searching for a missing boater. a passenger in a fishing boat yesterday. authorities say the boat had engine trouble and took on water. rescuers say two other men on that boat. doctors are now treating them for hypothermia. natural resources police along with the coast guard arerying to find that missing boater. this morng a new plea from the fbi in a string of recent shootings at military buildings in our area, they'resking for tips. if you kn someone who has suffered a recent crisis or out late at night when these shootings have happened. the latest target was a coast guard recruiting office in virginia. the fbi says someone fired several shots at that building with the very same gun used in all five shootings. no one has been hurt. the fbi is urging whver is responsible to turn himself in. >> i think the most probable right now is current, former service ma or someone trying to send a message. i think the challenge right now is to be able to understand that message. because the shots are fired at night, the fbi believes the shooter is not trying to hurt anyone. they have found noitnesses or useful surveillance video. metro escalator inspections may be a real headache over the next week. crews might have to stop some of them to check the brakes leading you to use the stairs. an escalator at l'ennt plaza sped up throwing people to the ground. six were hurt. there were problems at the gallery place station. metro plans to inspect all 5 88 over the next few days. ryan da vinny was a student at west virginia university with a bright future ahead of him. then the unthiable happened. last november ryan was the victim of a brutal attack, beaten so badly. today he remains in a partial coma. loved ones and strangers a rallying behind ryan. praying thatne day he might wake up. reporter: ryan was knocked into a coma during a vicious attack. authorities say he was punched and kicked outside a campus one year ago. this was ryan, a student with a future wide open. this is him now. in a vegetative state. his family is is caring for him inside their ashburn home.ñi >> i keep hoping every day one of these days he's going to open up his eyes and say, mom, i love you. talk to us again. >> let's vertebrae for the family. let's pray for this community, for ryan,hat he'll be healed. >> rorter: dozens people, many of them strangers to the family, attended a candlelight vigil. many learned of the event through a facebook page that has c constant updates. >> i felt like that could have been my son. could have been myaughter. and i think most of the people here feel that way. >> reporter: they're raising money and praying ryan will some day wake up. >> it's been a miracle ryan has made it this far. each one of us has been touched by the fact that what if this happed to us? result we'll have to watch thiscarefully. look at that plume of tropical moisture. this was hurricane tomas out here. not really going to be much of a factor. that plume of deep moisture goes up the eastern seaboard into the maritimes of canada and as a result of all of that moisture out there and a little ripple of low prsure going outnd interacting with it, what's going to happen it's going to spin up an ocean storm over the next 24 hours or so starting out well offshore but eventually inning its way back to the gulf of maine and then look at the forecast track for that low pressure back down the eastern seaboard. how strongt gets and how close it gets to the coastline of rehoboth and ocean city will play a big part in the forecast. tomorrow and tuesday, we'll have more clouds in the forecast. for now looks like it will stay far enough offsho to kep us sunny. today no problems at all. more sun than clouds today. a bit of a northeaster breeze. then tomorrow morning sunshine, i think iwill pick up some clouds tomorrow afternoon, becoming quite breezy to windy tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night especially out to the chesapeake bay where the winds will be the strongest. start with congress. we have a shift in power here. are we going to see an atmosphere where nothing gets done? >> there is gridlock that americans are concerned about. the big message from the election was you have to get together and get some things done. if it's on taxes, if it's on spending and i thinkhey're going to try to do that. both sides recognize this huge appetite. the president has to decide where he wants it to compromise and whe he wants to fight a little bit. presiden have to feel their way on this. bill clinton did a good job but it took him time after a big defeat in 1994 to triangulate a little bit and make some compromis compromises. that's the task for obama now. >> what about nancy pelosi? the first female speak of the house. some expected, well, maybe she'll step down. she shepherded this president's agenda through, now it's time for someone else to step forward. >> nancy pelosi is an incredibly effective speaker inerms of the inside game, in terms of controlling democrats, raising money, and getting legislation passed. the problem is she's really used as a target by republicans. that's going to continue. i think republicans will consider this a gift. and they're going to have to work that out. the house is going to be a more difficult place for president obama to have much impact because the republicans get sort of a freebie here. they can pass what they want, repealing heth care. it's the senate where nobody is in contr. you have a slimmer majority and if you don't have 60 votes in the senate, you don't have control anyway. so that's really going to be the proving -- >> john boehner says that is something that is top of the list for him. how quickly do you think we'll see some movement on that and what do you think will happen? oot house will move on it relatively quickly but senator jim de mint is on "meet the press" later this morning. you'll hearim say something very interesting. it really doesn't have a chance to pass now but it's going to be what republicans in 2012 are running on, trying to roll back health care. i thinit's a longer term enterprise. >> can we ask you john boehner, have you ever made him cry? >> no. no. i don't think so. an emotional guy, something very real and authentic about that moment. for him and his background too much the authority he has now. >> and come from where he came from it's a compelling story. >> i think that will be celebrated to some extent and breaking, too, a lot of people didn't expect that from the k country club republican look. >> right. >> the president is in india right now, a 10-day trip. he announced there would be a partnership with boeing over in india. 54,000 jobs they say likelto come out of that. what do you mke of that? >> they are nope for outsourcing. he does want to emphasize the aspects of it. business leaders along the trip with obama and this is an opportunity to make some ground up with the business community as well. so he'll makthe best of it. the object is to stay in politics. the messaging is not the best. >> we have to let you go because "meet the press" is coming up. you have an interview with ever colorful chris christie. he's going to run for president, right? >> well, i don't think so. maybe down the line. he's ruling it out for 2012 and you'll hear our exchange on that. i must say this was a very warmer days ahead, though, as we head to the middle of the week. we'll have to get through a fairly unsettled weather pattern the next 48 hours or so first. high pressure is in charge today. the midweek warming trend i coming but it will probably be wednesday before you really start to notice it. the big change in the forecast, the hiccup in the forecast the next couple of days, it that big plume of tropical moisture, will start to interact with a little area of low pressure off the carolina coastline and that area of low pressure will eventually do a loop up the coast of new england and back down the mid-atlantic coastline. i know it sounds complicated. here it is. forming off the carolina coastline heading up to the gulf of maine gradually making the turn as it intensifies and comes back down the coast. future cast at 6:00 tomorrow morning but during the course of the day tomorrow as that area of low pressure innsifies and slides down the eastern seaboard, the closer it gets to us and the stronger that it gets in intensity, the windier our monday and tuesday are going to be. if it gets far enough back to the west, another 50 or miles of where it looks like it's going to be, we may have to introduce light rain monday night or tuesday. we'll ke you posted. far enough off the coast where we stay on the dry side of things. for today, a beauty of a day outside. plenty of
