lightning along route 50, out on the bay bring and that thunderstorm is headed out towards the mt. vernon section of fairfax county. storms are moving off to the east at 20 to 30 miles per hour and a larger line in southern pennsylvania we'll be keeping an eye on that would be arriving around 8:00. >> all right. thank you. now to a developing story in arlington. a jeweller murdered inside his shop and police think this man might be the killer. take a good look, if you can. the suspect wearing a neon traffic vest. darcy has more on the search for the man police are calling dangerous tonight. >> reporter: i want to set the scene for you first. we're live along columbia pike. this is the store why this incident happened yesterday afternoon. you can see a woman is walking up here i believe to place flowers here at the scene. a man was killed inside the establishment as it turns out yesterday afternoon. police are still here on the scene because business at this point is unsecured. because he had to break into the business to gain access, there's still jewelry inside, so police are making sure no one is able to get inside. you showed some of the pictures, very good surveillance photos and there's some lettering on that vest. police are hoping this will be a key to making an arrest. arlington county police want you to take a close look at these photos taken from surveillance video. they show a man in a bright colored traffic vest, wanted in connection with a robbery and murder here on columbia pike. police say a 52-year-old herndon man who works at the store was killed around 4:00 friday afternoon. his bodice covered around midnight last night. his relatives got concerned when he didn't return home or answer repeated phone calls. police had to get the fire department to break through the locked front door. that's when the victim was found. he was pronounced dead at the scene. while reviewing surveillance video, police saw the crime being committed. they're not saying exactly how the victim was killed or what weapon was used. police say they could see the attacker taking jewelry on the video. they're conducting an inventory to see what was stolen. they're hoping the fact that the suspect was wearing a brightly colored vest may lead to his arrest. >> i'm in shock that this happened. i just found out and i was back here earlier this morning and i saw the police here in force and i've never seen them here before. i'm just disturbed and whoever did this, i hope they're caught. whoever did this, i hope they turn themselves in. >> reporter: police at this point are not releasing the identity of the victim. they say they do need help with this case. again, with the surveillance video, there's some lettering on the back of that vest. they say they could not make out what the lettering was on the surveillance video. so if anybody recognizes that vest with the lettering, it may spell out a company or something like that. you are asking to call arlington police. the maryland man accused of threatening to shoot up his workplace is undergoing a psy psychiatric evaluation. police say he threatened a rampage. on thursday, police arrived at prescott's apartment on crofton and found an arsenal of two dozen weapons. prescott has. been arrested or charged at this oinlt. police are waiting until the evaluation is finished before deciding on charges. a police officer is recovering after being shot outside a nightclub around 1:00 this morning at the galaxy nightclub in langley part. three people were kicked out of the club, they got into a car and started shooting as they drove away. one of the officers -- one of the shots hit officer rachel jacob in the leg. she's a four-year veteran of the force. police caught one the car and arrested everyone a short time later. costco is coming to the district this fall. that means some jobs and this morning, an overflow crowd tried to attend a job fair. these long lines outside the church as down to 91 now with a north wind at 12, gusting to 18 miles per hour. you can see in the distance, the thunderheads out over annapolis. 88 in manassas. 94 down the road in fredericksburg. severe thunderstorm watch for everywhere east of the blue ridge mountains. the active warnings now until 6:30 in southern fairfax county, southern prince william county for this storm right here. we'll zoom in here. the storm out by annapolis was severe. the weather service has just taken that down. but an intense thunderhead going over the chesapeake bay bridge out towards the eastern shore. this storm still severe now, moving into downtown woodbridge, lorton, springfield area. in mt. vernon, be on the lookout. this may very well produce some small hail and wind gusts of 50 or perhaps 60 miles per hour. so be on the lookout. that strong to severe thunderstorm will be grazing into southern portions of prince george's county in the next 45 minutes to an hour. upstream from there, another band of thunderstorms about two to four hours away from the area. scattered storms around here for the remainder of this evening. temperatures back down to the low 80s by 11:00. the london forecast for tomorrow, clouds and rain showers moving in for the second half of sunday over in london. for us, evening thunderstorms will fade away. we may have to contend with a lit t bit more in the way of rain chances tomorrow. sunday, monday, tuesday looks pretty nice, a little chance for showers on tuesday. but better beach weather than not. tonight, passing clouds, overnight lows 70 to 76. for tomorrow,
