through the window of the dc9 club. at issue, the medical examiner's office has yet to determine where died as a result of a beating. the fi employees first faced murder charges, then assault charges, enough to kill. the former d.c. chief medical examiner says unlike those crime dramas on tv, such findings don't come quickly. >> one of the concerns you have in a case like the is that the injuries by themsees may very well not be fatal or potentially fatal. but in combination with drug effects, physical forces applied to him that may limit his breathing. those things can add up together and be forced jennifer hawk pettitte to withdraw ransom money to spare her family. what she returned from the bank, hayes and his accomplice sexually assaulted, then strangled her. beat dr. petit with a bat. then tied the daughters to bed posts, doused them with gasoline, and set the house on fire. >> therere just some people who do not deserve to live. in god's world. >> reporter: the jury reached agreement on the sentence after deliberating over four days. including the weekend. and during his thanks for tir service, judge john blue told they will, quote, you have been exposed to images of are being raised about the holes in the government's ann terrorism security net after dozens of illegal immigrants were arrested after getting flying lessons in massachusetts. last week 34 brazilian police described as a domestic dispute. e sense was held at the unit baptist church on r street northwest. morris was just 13 years old. she was shot to death two fridays ago in front of her home in the brightwood neighborhood of northwest. the suspect, 39-year-old robert carter, was charged on friday with first-degree murder. police say carter carjack two vehicles after the shooting. one was a metro access car. after a brief chase, he crashed in prince george's county and was taken into custody. >> neighbors are voicing their concerns about the mesleft behind in the house fire. even before that, residents were complaining theenormous house still under construction was an eyesore. now investigators are trying to figure out what started that fire. >> reporter: investigators worked inside the scorched foundation. it left an unfinished dream nome ruins. a canine looked for excel rants. it shows the ermous flames that awakened neighbors. >> saturday night we woke up at 2:00 a.m. because there was a big explosion like a bomb went off. >> reporter: this neighbor and others say long before the fire, the house was a source of neighborhood concern and controversy. because of its size, it
