baby will always know what an extraordinary man his or her father was. >> reporter: in vienna, news 4. two other d.e.a. agents died in the same chopper crash last month. we are following a developing story in northeast d.c. now. two firefighters were hurt. they were battling a fire. derrick ward is live with the latest on that. >> reporter: it was a close call for a couple living in this house after the two-alarm blaze drove them from the home and sent two firefighters to the hospital. it was about 3:00 p.m. when the occupants of this house made a hasty escape from the home. fire raged through the back of the house. they dialed 911. >> encountered heavy fire conditions. an attack was made. at which time, they received minor burn >> reporter: one firefighter received burns to his face and ears, the other to his wrist. they were taken to the burn unit to be observed. the house has been there as long as they can remember. firefighters say the house's age may have been a plus, if you can find one, in a situation like this, due to the construction. >> the older construction is better than the newer construction because you have a lot longer time you can stay inside and fight a fire. the only thing with the older homes, you must be aware, sometimes the electrical wiring frays. you need to update as time goes by. >> also, no indication as to the extent of the damage. the house is not inhabitable at this point. authorities believe it began at the back of the house. >> thank you. meanwhile, police in prince george's county say they have discovered a fifth person stabbed inside a house this morning. it happened on emmerson street. investigators believe a fight may have broken out at a party. police found four people at the scene, then later, one person showed up at the hospital. they are all expected to survive. a police officer doing a traffic stop was a robbery suspect. an officer tried to pull over an suv, but the driver took off. the driver was hit, then the vehicle went through a stop sign and hit another car. the suspect, 52-year-old david masters died at the hospital. that shooting is still under investigation tonight. virginia governor tim kaine visited flood ravaged areas today. hurricane ida stirred up hurricane winds that created a nor'easter that battered the virginia coast. e damage is put at $3 million. kaine said he will put in for emergency relief. 24,000 customers are still without power this afternoon. almost all of those outages are in the southeastern part of the commonwealth. the same nor'easter hammered the new jersey shore. the storm is out and clean up is beginning. powerful waves and wind gusts are still causing problems. they are dealing with flooded streets and structural damage. a man is dead after a gruesome accident in bethesda today. it happened outside a house on sell curve drive. the 35-year-old was on a ladder trimming a tree branch. he lost control of the chainsaw he was using. the man fell about 30 feet and died at the scene. they have not released his name, yet. president barack obama is in singapore, the second stop on his first asian tour since taking office. the president and secretary of
