You look so amazing. Really . Me . I always and you smell good. You smell good. Oh thank you. Look at that body. Woo what . [music playing] welcome to the most amazing townhouse youve ever seen. [music playing] ok, so one of the many reasons you even want to buy a townhouse is kitchen. The kitchen no, no, no. And not and kind of kitchen. Like a mega full floor kitchen. I mean look at this thing. Yes. It just keeps on going and going. Like the energizer bunny. I love this. And this stove, you could really do some damage on. I love this. I want to cook on this. I want to sleep on it. Its so big. And also, very important with this house. Listen. Shh, shh, shh. Can you hear that . Quiet. Exactly. You cant hear anything. Thats the whole point. We have six more floors. We have five fireplaces. We have nine bathrooms, we have five bedrooms. So we have some things to see. Mmmhmm. Lets go see them. Lets go. [music playing] this house smells so good. Or maybe its you. Its me. Someone smells really good. [music playing] and then the formal dining. Emphasis on formal. Now since you have the elevator, you could have your cocktail. Butler, cocktail, kids, grandma, anyone invite here to eat with you. Yeah. You know what i love about this, too, is that theres so much light in here. It flows from the front to the back. And the floors are light. It just feels fresh. Its a good point. I realize wherever i am in the house, it doesnt really matter where i look. Im always looking out through a window. [music playing] townhouses are great because theres always notion of separation between floors. Yeah. So now you have the master upstairs. The fullfloor master. But this floor, look at all this flexibility. All this living. Is that a terrace . Yes, lets go. On the third floor . Its rare. But its like a garden. I bet youve never seen that before. Oh fredrik you can literally hear the birds sing. You can. Theyre chirping. Theyre talking to us. Theyre saying buy this townhouse. Ah, yes. Its really peaceful out here, though. [breathing deeply] living in new york city, you need more greenery. Youre very close to central park. And now weve talked a lot about loving a house. Yes. Now were going to talk about loving in the bedroom. Oh, ok. [music playing] its so beautiful. Oh, its so pretty. Its so peaceful. I love it. I want to take a nap. I feel like im getting beautiful when im in this room. You are. I was gonna say that. I noticed that right as we walked in. Its the light. It makes you look prettier. Its also the sleep. Because here youre gonna sleep 10 hours every night. Thats true. And i love the windows again. Its a whole wall of windows. Its bright, its airy, its light, its fresh. Go to bathroom. The bathroom. Oh, its like twinkling in here. I love this tile. Oh double sinks, a vanity, and tub right in the center. I love it. No, i get so happy because you get happy. That reaction you want from any buyer. I love this bathroom. Isnt it gorgeous . And look, this is a marriage saver. Ive only been married for two years. So i dont really know, but ive heard. Wait, go over there. I standing here. Separate sinks. Were brushing our teeth. Were looking at each other. We still feel the love, right . After all these years . In this house, im going to fell the love forever. Am i this handsome . Ok. The best place for last. Are you thirsty . I am. Because im getting thirsty for a deal. Im parched. [music playing] tada so garden. Then rooftop garden. Remember down there . And then this. So three pieces of outdoor space. I love this. You could really entertain out here. And its so peaceful. You could. I am. Both woo cheers, fredrik. Thank you so much for the tour. Love you. And for introducing me to my new life. Its fantastic. Theres only one thing, last thing missing, though. What . The 13. 5 million check. Oh, im going to work on that. Ill get back to you. [music playing] its always fun hanging out with fredrik. And now i see why hes one of the top realtors around. Theres so much more ahead on open house. Up next we are heading to an impressive entertaining space designed by robin baron. Well be right back. [music playing] next we join designer robin baron at her clients piedaterre on manhattans Upper East Side. She created a chic, modern apartment thats perfect for entertaining. It has an eclectic array of architectural details that add both glamour and style at every turn. Its the kind of place that makes you feel festive the moment you step inside. See for yourself. [music playing] hi. Im interior designer and lifestyle expert robin baron. And im here in a postwar construction building that i just finished for a client that live out of town. And my goal here was to glam up the apartment for entertaining. So where do you begin . The best place of all the entryway. So i started with the floor. I added an insert of stone and glass mosaic right into the wood floor, so that as soon as you walk in youre interested. Your eye is moving. When you look up, you can notice the tray ceilings that i put in. And of course for me, lighting is one of the keys. And i designed these beautiful lights in the foyer that extend all the way down the gallery for drama. And like all good foyers, it sets the tone for everything youre going to see and delivers you right into this living room. [music playing] there are few elements that create a welldesigned living room. One, you really want to have someone feel like theyre drawn in and want to be in this space. Here i chose a large, vintage lucite table because you can see through it. You see the beautiful silk rug, you see everything around it in proportion to each other. And on the marble wall, i put floating [inaudible] shelves. In a large scale room like this, its best to have more than one sitting area. This large sofa facing the fireplace serves as the division between the two seating areas. So follow me and lets see the rest of the home. [music playing] making a small, manhattan kitchen interesting . Near impossible. I used big, bold hardware on all the cabinetry. I also used a really interesting backslash to keep your eye moving through the space. And bold fabric on the banquette. Creating the tray ceiling allowed me to use more interesting lights going down the kitchen. [music playing] i hope you enjoyed taking a peek at this glamorous, eclectic apartment. As i always say, confidence begins at home. [music playing] still ahead, helping a family breathe easier. See how this basement space is transformed from the inside out. [music playing] sara voiceover open house is brought to you in part by Stanley Steemer, the first Carpet Cleaning service to be certified as asthma and allergy friendly. Their deep cleaning process removes 94 of common household allergens from the carpet. For cleaner and healthier home, visit stanleysteemer. Com welcome back to open house. Asthma and allergy sufferers cant do much to control pollen and other outdoor factors that can trigger a reaction. But there are some things you can do indoors to make some healthier choices. And it all starts with your carpet. George oliphant is teaming up and Stanley Steemer to help a family in the philadelphia area breathe a little bit easier. [music playing] my name is andrew siravo. This is lily siravo. We have two kids, madeline and drew. Madeline is four, and drew is two and a half. I have suffered from allergies pretty much most of my adult life. Andrew drew has allergies himself. Hes allergic to a dog that we had to give up, and hes had stays in and out of the hospital, and had a flareup last winter that was pretty bad. [music playing] lily when we realized that the basement was a big cause of my sinus headaches, and also of drews asthma attacks and time he spent in the hospital, it was really disheartening and really frustrating to feel like we couldnt spend time as a family down in our basement. Right now its not really useable for him, given that the carpet holds a lot of pet dander, and theres mold and dampness down there. So having that done and having that area to gather in and play in would be amazing. Andrew weve been living here seven years and have never had the carpets cleaned. I think its way overdue. [music playing] every family needs a great space to gather in. And with a few small improvements, were going to be able to turn the siravo familys basement into the space that Everyone Wants to hang out in. But were not just going to improve it, were going to make it healthier, too. But of course, we cant do this alone. Oh, nice. Just the team i was waiting for. Stanley steemer has arrived. [music playing] dave, im so glad that youre here. George, thanks for calling. Im looking forward to getting in there with the Stanley Steemer team and what do you say, you want to go meet the family . Were happy to help. Lets go. Ok. [music playing] hey andy, hows it going guys . Good to see you i brought my friend dave here from Stanley Steemer. Nice to meet you. George whats up guys . Hows it going . Well i understand you guys got some issues with your basement. So dave and i are here to tackle it. You want to lead the way . Absolutely. Come on guys, lets go. Its this way. George so you have this great basement but youre not really able to use it at all. Correct. Correct. I think we are definitely the solution for you. Stanley steemers the first Carpet Cleaning service that was certified asthma and allergy friendly. On average our cleaning process actually removes 94 of common household allergens. And in addition you mentioned the dog we actually our cleaning process was shown to remove 97. 8 of dog dander. Awesome. Awesome. I mean that should be good. And youre certainly not alone. I mean theres 65 Million People across the country that are dealing with these same issues related to asthma and allergy. George so basically in laymans terms, youre going to be able to clean this place so that its not just a dumping ground, but actually a usable space. Its going to be a healthier environment for everybody to come down here. Hopefully itll be a space you can enjoy. Well not only are we going to make it healthier, but i got a few tricks up my sleeve. I think well actually i think a little nicer to hang out in as well. Awesome. All right wed love that lets get to work. Lets do it. [music playing] george wow, it really just cleaned up that coffee stain or whatever that was, as if it was nothing. So this particular space is walltowall carpeting. In my house, i have Hardwood Floors and area rugs. Do you do houses like that, too . Yeah absolutely. We can clean area rugs, we can clean Hardwood Floors. And people think of us as just carpet cleaners, but we can really do some good things to tile and grout as well. We clean upholstery, we clean drapes. Like carpet, your furniture and your drapes, theyll act like a filter in the home. So all of the allergen triggers the dog dander, cat dander, dust mites, pollen comes in, it circulates around the room, and it gets trapped in not just the carpet, but also the furniture as well. So its important to clean that on a regular basis. George so pretty much anything under your roof, Stanley Steemer can clean. We got it covered. [music playing] wow, dave, this basement smells so fresh. Yeah, were finished cleaning the carpet. We cleaned the furniture. Perfect, so now i can bring down amanda and her team from sunflower creations to spruce this place up. [music playing] swing it. Swing it. [music playing] siravo family, are you guys ready to see what we did down here . Yeah, come on guys, lets check it out. All right. Come on down whoo wow. Wow oh my god [music playing] george of course, i couldnt have done this by myself. We had amazing help fro our Team Sunflower creations, and of course Stanley Steemer. Guys, thank you so much. It looks great. Were thrilled. Thank you so much. Were so happy. Thank you, guys. You did a great job. Now you have a beautiful space and you can breathe easy. Thats all for now. I hope you learned some inspiring tips and enjoyed our tour of exquisite homes. If you need more inspiration, head to openhousetv. Com. And if you have the decorating hack, share it with us on twitter, instagram, or facebook. Well be back next week. Thanks for watching. [music playing] im here asking for help it was like hearing a ghost. A voice from beyond the grave. Theres no way i can go back. Can she help solve her own murder . So surreal. This is something that happens to other people, not to you. She was a dancer who married a dashing photographer. They seemed a perfect family. Til the bonechilling night she went missing. You could see the body underneath the snow. Where was her husband that night . My attorney said, you dont know the tidal wave thats coming towards you, do you . Seems like its always the husband, right . Isnt that what police say . Except this time, they werent so sure. Its a whodunit. I had three viable suspects. Three possible suspects . Turns out, this victim also had a boyfriend. And he had a wife everyone starts getting questioned. Husband. Boyfriend. Jealous spouse. I said something like, i hope she rots in hell so what did happen that snowy night . See what you think. Because the most important clue of all may be the victims own voice. I knew there was a line to draw. Im lester holt and this is dateline. Tonight, secrets in the snow. Heres keith morrison. Reporter it was cold the night it happened. So very cold. A night to be inside by a fireplace, tucked under a quilt. Not outside in the frigid dark. Not way up here, nine thousand feet up, in the colorado mountains. Snow thick already that late november night, and with the wind chill, 24 below. I dont know enough to know exactly what happened. Im still trying to figure it out. Reporter what in gods name was his wife doing . Walking out into the brutal cold . And more to the point, what happened to her . This middle class married mother of three. Where did she go . Without a word to him or her friends. You cant imagine that this is happening to you and to your friend. She was just plain missing. Reporter but she was. Terrifying. Dreadful in the end. And as events were about to prove, a shocking lesson on what can dwell hidden beneath a persons public skin. So this was really a secret thing as far as you know . A lot of it, sure. Reporter everybody has secrets, of course. Stephanie roller bruners secrets lived, as she did, in a skiers paradise. Tall pines, heartpounding slopes, soaring peaks. Silverthorne, colorado. And the happy way she got here was the sort of thing you might expect to read in perhaps a romance novel. Instant instant attraction. Reporter they met at the top of a mountain. Dale bruner, a professional photographer, was taking and selling photographs of visiting skiers. A person has to make a living and for dale, skiers were it. I love taking wildlife. Photos and scenics. People say, well, why dont you sell more of your work that way . I said, well, buffalo dont carry credit cards. Reporter anyway, it was up there on the mountain, he spotted this young woman who seemed to be conducting some sort of Forestry Service survey. I skied up to her and i said, what are you doing . Writing parking tickets . She looked up and smiled. Reporter and then she took off her big ski goggles. I was stunned and im like, wow, shes beautiful. Reporter they moved in together right away, and when they got married a few years later, they eloped, they jetted off to fiji. It was so stephanie, said her friends. Yeah, they kinda just went off and did it. Reporter they made their home in silverthorne where dales photo business grew and grew. When things were really rolling, i had several operations in different states around the country. Around 25 photographers working. Reporter stephanie got a job in county government. Environmental planning department. Look, look at the camera. Reporter they raised their 3 young children. Awesome children. The best. How bout a smile . Reporter and life for the bruner family was it was fantastic. We traveled. We vacationed. Reporter but it was in her spare moments and hours that stephanie was truly transformed. A ballroom dancer. Dancing was probably to her what photography is to me. Our guest star, bill reporter it was her passion, said her old friend bill. He knows flamenco. Stephanie loved to dance. I mean, dance was her life. She was alive when she danced. Reporter hardly surprising then that stephanie and jennifer were very close, too. We started a Ballroom Dance Program together at my dance studio and pretty soon she had me doing back flips with men and partnering and just all kind of fun things. Reporter but it was dance that led off the whole cascade of trouble in the fall of 2010. Theres an annual fundraiser here in silverthorne called dancing with the mountain stars. Local worthies paired with ballroom pros. Did you go . I went to about three years of them. The last one, i did not go to the last one. Reporter had a wedding to shoot. So he missed the chance to watch stephanie teach those leadfooted businessmen the foxtrot and the tango and so on. Which means he also missed what happened that night. She coached a number of couples and in the process she met a man named ron. Reporter ron holthouse. A local, married, physical therapist. She started working with him and got to know him and saw how funny and animated he was and how that made her feel. She really did call it a true love moment. And he seemed to feel the same thing about her . Yeah, they really clicked together. Reporter so they did. Oh, boy, did they ever. And stephanie was dancing on air, her whole world, upended. She didnt realize that there could be love like that. Reporter a secret from her family, of course. But she told her friends that shed found her soul mate. It was almost odd how she told a number of us, that i just want you to know that im very happy. Reporter but joy and misery come in pairs sometimes. As thanksgiving approached, chaos took over what had been a well ordered life. It was a wednesday, middle of october, when things started piling up. A horrendous day for her. Because . Well, she went to work that day and the county laid off 20 people that very day. Reporter including stephanie. In fact, stephanies troubles, and her secrets, seemed to pile up like the snow. She was behaving a little bit strangely. A little unpredictable. A little bit, yeah. Reporter it was thanksgiving week. That cold, dark night. Not far away from peaceful silverthorne, someone robbed a bank. A very rare thing around here. Dale was in bed, he said, when stephanie announced she was going out to clear her head. And then didnt come back. Come morning, dale called the Silverthorne Police. I got a phone call from dale bruner and just said i wanted to make a report that my wife is missing. Reporter it was a records clerk named Veronica Nicholas who took the call. He said, i got the kids up, i got them ready for school, and i got them on the bus, and then i thought i should probably call you guys. Reporter stephanies car was in the driveway, said dale. And when he called her cell phone, it went to voicemail. Veronica called stephanies best friend, jennifer. I panicked. This is something that happens to other people, not to you. Reporter oh, but it had happened. As the Silverthorne Police checked local hotels and hospitals, stephanies friends scoured her neighborhood. It just seemed unbelievable that stephanie would not check in. Reporter a day became two. And then three. And some private secrets were about to become very public indeed. So where was stephanie . Police had a lot of questions for her husband, dale. They also wanted to talk to that other man in her life, her boyfriend, ron. And when we come back, they do. I just want to ask straight up again, not accusing you do you know where stephanie is right now . Reporter all night, the we are in the age of ageless. Age neutral. Age defiant. Age agnostic. This sunday, campaign 2016 and this burning question can anything stop donald trump . Even the truth . I watched in jersey city, new jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering. Well Ask Donald Trump about that and other claims. Also, ben carson travels to jordan to bone up on foreign policy. He joins me this morning with a report on his trip. Plus, there may be no bigger republican endorsement than the one from the New Hampshire union leader. And this mornings pick could be a game changer. And that
