If we zoom into the live commute map, we have a report of a minor crash from rock quarry road, also on glenwood from 54, but over all major routes looking good. To a developing story out of Harnett County where a College Freshman has died after falling from a dorm window. It happened last night at Campbell University. Thats where wrals Mikaya Thurmond is reporting from this morning. What can you tell us about this tragic story . Reporter the right now is determining whether that student jumped, fell, or was pushed out of a third story window of a dorm that is just behind me here at Campbell University. Authorities have identified that student as 18yearold Ezra Goldbach who died from that fall. He was a professional Golf Management major and freshman at campbell. Around 10 p. M. , investigators with the Harnett CountySheriffs Office began blocking the threestory building is an all boys dorm. The victims family has been notified. The Vice President of Student Affairs here at Campbell University says that they are traumatized by the tragedy and saddened, they will have counselors here for students and faculty members and will continue to have counselors through next week. Bill and lena . Mikaya thurmond, thank you. Authorities in are investigating after a car struck and killed an old girl. It happened on old us1. The girl was crossing the street when she was struck before 5 30 yesterday evening. The girl was just 3 years old and the father had just purchased toys for his daughter and two other children in the family. The friend says he was setting up a game that he bought and did not notice the girl was behind him in the yard when she no word on charges. Clayton police are responding to a call about a man beaten ended up arresting that man and two others. Deputies found a man beaten up at a gas station unfamiliar church road. He was carrying drugs including ecstasy. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Samuel Garcia and Samantha Weiss heimer, also on drug charges. Extra security will be on hand for tonights game in Pinecrest High School in moore county. Wrals renee chou newsroom with more. Reporter the Moore County School system sent an email saying students, parents and faculty will need to go through standup metal detectors. Also no bags will be allowed in the stadium area. Officials do not have any specific threats, they just want to make sure everyone is safe in light of recent violence. That includes the driveby shooting of a 12yearold girl in southern pines. Thanks Linda Campbell was shot one week ago today. A man was charged as an accessory after the fact. Police are looking for a gunman in a second driveby shooting. A man was shot in the leg in a yard on west illinois street where several people were gathered for a cookout. That and then that man is supposed to be okay. Not talking about standing water, not raining quite that hard this morning but slow down on 95 and i40 south of showers leaving behind wet conditions in parts of moore county and Chatham County as well. Heads up about a big ramp closure taking place starting tonight at 9 00. This is part of the fortify project. The on and off ramps at rock quarry road will be closed tonight until the morning of november 14. That is a monday morning so it will be reopened for the money morning commute. There will be assigned each were in place. Trial of a white former Police Officer accused of killing a black man in april. Michael slater is accused of shooting walter scott eight times after he fled a traffic stop. The shooting was captured by a bystander undramatic cell phone video. Some of scotts cell phone family members took the stand including his son and fiance. Slager faces between 30 years and life in prison if convicted. Charged in the deathof a suspect is off the job. A superior court judge ordered the state to revoke the Law Enforcement certification of the man until the case is resolved. He is charged with Involuntary Manslaughter in the death of alexander thompson. Thompson died after a march chase that spanned two counties. He was shot with a stun gun and died a month later. The grandson of a Prominent Duke University daughter is jeffrey yoh jr. Faces rape as well as assault by strangulation charges. According to documents obtained by wral, the assaults took place last year at an on campus apartment. The yoh name is a wellknown one on campus , spike yoh was a donor, longer enrolled. He is currently on a 500,000 bond and is due in court next week. His defense attorney tells us yoh like anyone else should be presumed innocent. A reward is offered after a series of threats targeting Wilson County schools. Superintendent lane neil sent a letter to parents asking for help in identifying the people responsible. The person linked to the threat monday is being disciplined. Other threats were made recently including two wednesday. Bedingfield high school. Hunt received funds bomb threats twice. Anyone with information should call police. The city of raleigh reversed its course in a recent zoning decision over the antiabortion group hand of hope residents pregnancy resource center. They wanted to restore a home next to an Abortion Clinic so that it could move its office into that space. The city refused and the group filed a federal lawsuit. Administrator decided the office can move. There is still a 30 day window for nearby Property Owners to appeal before the decision becomes final.
