Lets take a look at that camera just south of garner station boulevard where an accident is getting cleared up and really slowing down that northbound side of 401 heading up toward garner and raleigh. Take a look at it on the sensor map this morning. Zoom into that area. You can see that the that red line there begins in advance of old between 1010 road and old stage road on 401. Not getting any bet every so you need to come up with alternate routes this morning. You might car using lake wheeler over, maybe old stage road out toward grovemont. From there, you can scoot over toward the timber drive intersection and head on up toward business 70 and come in that way. Couple of options to avoid those backups on 401. We are working in the news room right now to learn more about that crash. Well have updates as we get triangle, looking okay coming in from wake forest. No trouble on inbound. 540 westbound is delay free. Lets take a look at your ride on 40 westbound. 15 minutes through Garner Holding pretty steady with delays right around the clayton bypass. Through the fortify work zone and beyond, no big trouble there between 440 and wade and the ride from wade about five minutes. Johnston county authority investigating a crime scene. Which is a roourl area in northern johnston county, not too far from the wake koun tu line and mud cats stadium. New overnieshths Fayetteville Police are investigating a crash involving a pedestrian. It happened around 11 30 on ram drive intersection. The pedestrian is in the hospital in serious condition. The driver was not hurt. Identities have not yet been released and theres no word yet on whether there will be charges. Is this one in raleigh, this was on rock quarry road near walnut creek around 7 30 last night. Overnight, police tell us the victim was alives and being treated at wake med. No word on that persons exact condition. Also new overnight, police in goldsboro are investigating the deadly shooting. Morning on north aster court. Police tell us a male victim was shot in a wooded area behind the west haven community. Police are trying to identify the victim this hour. So far, no arrests yet on a motive. The state should get the first plan for a temporary breach of the Wood Lake Dam in moore county some time today. Engineers have been drawing down water in preparation for this breach to minimize the risk to downstream communities. Flooding from Hurricane Matthew damaged the Wood Lake Dam, and it must be repaired. Part of a spillway from the dam crumbled during the hurricane. The dam did not actually breach but the scare forced hundreds of people from their homes. Officials called for a temporary breach to prevent the risk of dam failure in case there is more heavy rain. This week, the lake was deliberately being drained at a rate of a foot per day. A dlan for the breach should be completed by next week. A construction timeline has been released. Last year, Wood Lake Dam was one of the largest highhazard dams in the state to receive a poor rating from regulators. Highhazard dams are those where loss of life is likely if the structure fails. As for who is paying for this, the department of Environmental Quality says the cost of emergency measures and repairs is the responsibility of the dams owner. Bill and lena. All right. You need to give yourself a few extra minutes, especially if heading westbound on buffalo road this morning. Lets head out to garner. We saw some big backups there early or bus of an accident at garner station boulevard. Right now at least it looks like traffic is free throwing freely through that area. And 60 in clinton and 61 degrees the fayetteville. Warmer than normal this morning and our High Temperatures stay above normal. Our lows do, too. Just a reference. 69 is the normal today. And it drops to 68 by tuesdayment and each day our temperature also be above normal, especially sunday at 83. Wednesday and thursday of next week we may be back into the 80s. Normal over the next five to seven days. So here is what is happening. Our cold front moves south of us. Behind it we just have mild air. Not really, really chilly. Really warm back to the west. And this warm front crosses the area overnight and tomorrow. It also wont bring us any rain, but it will bring the warm temperatures in. We do have the little important come through on sunday. It will drop our temperature for monday just a touch. The mid 70s. And then getting back much, much warmer than normal temperatures for wednesday and thursday of next week. So that is the theme of weather for the next few days. Warm, even in the mornings. Still getting an accident cleared up. And this is just south of that intersection. And on the north r northbound side heading up towards garner, were looking at big, biggedlies. As we zoom into that area, those backups again in advance of the road and they continue al road. Your best option this morning for an alternate route is likely going to be lake wheeler road.
