United states, which essentially is killing our Steel Workers and our steel companies. We have to guard our Energy Companies. We have to make it possible. The epa is so restrictive that they are putting our Energy Companies out of business. All you have to do is go to a great place like West Virginia or places like ohio, which is phenomenal, or places like pennsylvania, and you see what theyre doing to the people, miners and others in the energy business, its a disgrace. Its an absolute disgrace. Secretary clinton, two minutes. That was very interesting. First of all, china is illegally dumping steel in the United States and donald trump is buying it to build his buildings, putting Steel Workers and American Steel plants out of business. Thats something that i fought against as a senator and that i would have a trade prosecutor to taken advantage of by china on steel or anything else. You know, because it sounds like youre in the business or youre aware of people in the business, you know that we are now for the First Time Ever energy independent. We are not dependent upon the middle east. But the middle east still controls a lot of prices. So the price of oil has been way down, and that has had a damaging effect on a lot of the oil companies, right . We are, however, producing a lot of natural gas which serves as a bridge to more renewable fuels. And i think thats an important transition. Weve got to remain energy independent. It gives us much more power and freedom than to be worried about what goes on in the middle east. We have enough worries over there without having to worry about that. So i have a comprehensive energy policy. But it really does include fighting climate change, because i think that is a serious problem. Clean Renewable Energy as quickly as we can, because i think we can be the 21st Century Clean Energy superpower and create millions of new jobs and businesses. But i also want to be sure that we dont leave people behind. Thats why im the only candidate from the very beginning of this campaign who had a plan to help us revitalize coal country, because those coal miners and their fathers and their grandfathers, they dug that lost their lives, they were injured, but they turned the lights on, they powered our factories. I dont want to walk away from them. We have to do something for them. But the price of coal is down worldwide. We have to look at this comprehensively. Thats what ive proposed. I hope youll but to hillaryclinton. Com and look at my entire policy. Weve sneaked in one more question, and it comes from carl my question to both of you is, regardless of current rhetoric, would either of you name one positive thing that you respect in one another. [ applause ] mr. Trump, would you like to go first . I certainly will, because i think thats a very fair look, i respect his children. His children are incredibly able and devoted, and i think that says a lot about donald. I dont agree with nearly anything else he says or does, but i do respect that. And i think that is something that as a mother and a grandmother is very important to me. Has become in part so so conflictoriented, so intense, because theres a lot at stake. This is not an ordinary time. And this is not an ordinary election. We are going to be choosing a president who will set policy for not just four or eight years, but because of some of the important decisions we have to make here at home and around the world, from the Supreme Court to energy and else, and so there is a lot at stake. Its one of the most consequential elections that weve had. And thats why ive tried to put forth specific policies and plans, try to get it off of the personal and put it on to what it is i want to do as president. Thats why i hope people will check on that for themselves, so they can see that yes, ive spent 30 years, actually maybe a little more, working to help kids and families. And do that every single day. Mr. Trump . Well, i consider her statement about my children to be a very nice compliment. I dont know if it was meant to be a compliment. But it is a great im very proud of my children. Theyve done a wonderful job, and theyve been wonderful, wonderful kids. So i consider that a compliment. I will say this about hillary. She doesnt quit. She doesnt give up. I respect that. Shes a fighter. I disagree with much of what shes fighting for. I do disagree with her judgment in many cases. But she does fight hard, and she doesnt quit, and she doesnt give up, and i consider that to be a very good trait. Thanks to both of you. I want to thank both the candidates, i want to thank the university here. Meeting. Thank you to the university and everybody who watched. Please tune in on october 19th for the final president ial debate that will take place at the university of nevada, las vegas. Good night, everyone. [ applause ] another hour and a half debate has come and gone. Tonight we learned secretary clinton said the Trump Campaign is being deserted as it explodes. Flood waters covered parking lots and fields across the county. And check homes looked like they were sitting in the middle of a lake. Good grief my goodness they look like lake houses, dont they . Boat houses just so devastating. The rain and the wind, it just wasnt stop. It just seemed like it would never stop no. And i want to go back. I havent done this yet. But maybe resurrect some of the observations during floyd to not only compare the amounts but compare the duration of time that that rain comparable amounts of rain occurred. You know, fayetteville and so forth, goldsboro, that was an incredible amount of rain that fell for the most part in a 12 hour period. Thats right. Solid 12 hours. And the radar was relentless. When we saw this system coming at us and coming at florida, there were bands, okay . And there were bands and breaks and bands and breaks. There werent no bands for this thing. It was just one solid sheet. It was unbelievable to watch. But things have then. Were thank. For that. Should be a fairly quiet week. Well start off with a summary of all the different river flood warnings in effect right now. Some of these will go on for a good part of the week. The river down atkinston may not crest for another four days or so. Lets move on now and look at current temperatures. Is this nice or what . Everybody in the 50s at this southern counties, fayetteville, the observation there may not be updates as frequently as the other ones are because theyre, you know, way warmer than everybody else. Erwin at 56. Southern pines at 57. Well check on that. So we look at the skycam here. And weve got good visibility. Its good, clean air thats come in. And it looks like well be in several pleasant days in a row. Well be on the cool side for a start. But then things will moderate by the midand end part of the week. No tropical storms in sight, storms in sight. Just a very, very quiet week. As far as the day goes, looking for clear skies and temperatures dropping into the midand low 40s. We havent had any nights with temperatures in the 40s since may. And when we look at the 7day here, youll notice that we have not only forecasts in the 40s for tomorrow morning but for the next three mornings. In the 40s since april. Been a long time since weve seen numbers like that. So high temperatures in the 60s the first two days of the week. And as we head on into wednesday, thursday, and friday, well see moderation in the temperature with the overnight lows moderating into the low 50s. But that is still very, very, very comfortable for this time of year. And, again, we could easily get through the next seven days without a single drop during that entire period which, again, thats what you would hope for on the heels of something weve gone through this weekend. If you look at the 7day before knowing what came before it, it looks fantastic. It does. It does. And its amazing how long its been, you know, since weve had this kind of an event. I think a lot of people thought once they got through floyd they wouldnt see anything comparable to that again in their lifetime. Yeah, yeah. And thats reasonable to think. Uhhuh. And the whole rainfall distribution with this event, system, places like Cape Hatteras wouldve gotten far more rain. Right so there was clearly an interaction going on with the frontal zone, temperature contrast and all that. Itll make for some good phd theses from nc state meteorologists. It makes it difficult for you all, too. Because you have these two weather elements. Right. Coming together so to speak. Right. And we almo natural front, you know, along the North Carolina coast because the water is always warm offshore. And especially in the winter time you know, its warm offshore. Its cold inland. And so youve got a natural breeding ground for storms to develop. Thats why everybody in baltimore, washington, philly and new york and boston hate us because were the breeding ground of their winter miseries up there. But theres a lot of things that go on along the southeast coasts of the United States that are unique and complex and
