The leader of the Highway Patrol was walking side by side with demonstrate sglers this is my community. A lot of people that i saw walking and marching are people i know so as the old saying i have a dog in this fight, ive got a big dog in the fight. Reporter a picture of the st. Louis metropolitan police chief taking a selfie with the protester. An entirely different mood after the governor took duties away from the local county and police and this scene, too much. Even the president condemning both the looting and the police action. Theres also no excuse for police to use Excessive Force against peaceful protests or to throw protesters in jail for lawfully exercising their First Amendment rights. Reporter those rights are being exercised across the nation, a moment of silence in d. C. , chicago and boston. Young people crowding times square, all asking for justice for Michael Brown and demanding Police Identify the officer who shot and killed the unarmed teen after what police say was a dispute in the street. You have to be concerned about the officers safety, about his familys safety and you have to take measures to protect them but there comes a point in time where that name should be released because its going to get out anyway. Reporter because of the unrest here, the start of school which was scheduled for this week has now been moved to monday. Robin. All right, steve, thank you very much and joining us now the governor of missouri, jay nixon and Ferguson Police chief thomas jackson. Thank you, gentlemen, both for joining us this morning. We certainly do appreciate it and want to begin with you, chief jackson. As you can understand and you just heard ray kelly there say that the name of the officer who killed Michael Brown should be released. That thats what a lot of this anger is about. Are you going to release the officers name . Yes, we are. Were going to have a discussion late they are morning, itll be Early Morning but after this well be having a conversation about how were going to go about doing that but, yes, thats going to happen. Do you believe itll be today that the name will be released today. Yes, yes. And governor nixon, how do you feel about this because you have been calling for the tame to be released. Is this quick enough for you, sir. I think its just one step in the process and an important step and appreciate the chief and the others getting that name out and be a step on the road to healing here and justice. Obviously weve had a tumultuous week, a lot of the chiefs and folks have been on the front lines of a difficult Law Enforcement situation. I think the shift we made yesterday to make calm folks down and one arrest should not underestimate how many bounces there are in the future and how deep these wounds are not just here but across the country. Everyone very relieved and much more thankful because it was more peaceful because of the shift you made to the missouri Highway Patrol. Why did you make that decision. I felt an operational shift would give us a little different tone, would open up a little bit folks ability to speak their voice and hopefully make a difference with no arrests last night certainly the first night we saw some progress and thats not underestimating what has and had been done by a number of folks before but allows them now to focus their initial decision on things like getting these investigations completed. I know you want the focus to be more on what happened last night and peace and the entire nation saw the images of a couple of nights ago and you, governor, said it was more like a war zone and saying that was unacceptable. Chief, is there anything looking back that you feel that you should have done differently, any regrets . This has been a fluid situation and the one thing that i do want to reflect on is through this whole possess not one protester, not one rioter has been injured during the whole thing and i think thats a credit to all Law Enforcement. All these changes were very effective. We saw that last night. So do you believe that you learned from the mistakes . Do you believe that there were mistakes that were made . Oh, yeah. Sure. But in the end, the tactics that were used, the perception throughout the country has been a little bit different than the actual reality on the ground. But a lot of times perception is reality. We learned a lot from that. Governor, how do you assure your residents there in missouri and around the country for that matter that there will be a fair investigation and everyone is just wanting to know that there will be justice. Everyone is calling for justice so how do you assure that . I think continuing to press both the Justice Department as well as the locals to move their investigation. I was pleased to hear the chief indicate that this would be a day in which finally that initial name would come out and well work to make sure his family and theres security around that but i think those kinds of concrete steps of transparency leading to justice are vitally important now to heal old wounds that have been made afresh by this difficult and horrific situation. Robins sobriety was intact and he was brave as he struggled with his own battles of depression, anxiety as well as early stages of parkinsons which he was not yet ready to share publicly. Joining us, dr. Jennifer ashton. This must have been so hard to carry this. Now that we know this you were telling us theres an established link between parkinsons and depression. Absolutely. No separate brain issues but there is an association. We know about 20 to 40 of parkinsons patients suffer major depression and not just as a reaction to this tough diagnosis. The theory there is similar brain chemical changes in parkinsons and depression. The dopamine. Exactly, that neurochemical. You were saying as soon as you see signs of this, there is Early Detection and new tests for this. Absolutely. Its very important to take a good history as it is with any medical condition and then brain imaging, brain scans, theres something called a d. A. T. Scan that looks for low levels of that neurotransmitter dopamine often used to diagnose it. We know he took his own life but want to give hope. Is there treatment out there is there absolutely theres treatment and you want to ideally incorporate the use of a neurologist with a psychiatrist and remain hopeful because there are effective treatments. Those two amish girls returning home a day after they were abducted from their familys roadside vegetable stand Police Searching for the suspect and abcs gio benitez has been on the scene live in upstate new york. This morning a manhunt is under way for the person or Persons Police believe abducted two amish girls before mysteriously letting them go overnight. Theres still an active criminal investigation here because somebody still took these children away from their home. Reporter 6yearold Delila Miller and her 12yearold sister fannie now back home with their family after a frantic daylong search around new york. Theyre cold. They were wet. They are talking to the fbi and the Sheriffs Department right now. Reporter it all started wednesday night. The two girls were working their familys vegetable stand when police say a red fourdoor sedan pulled up. By the time it drove off, the girls were gone. Their parents who do not have a phone running to a neighbors house to alert police. Investigators forced to work with only a sketch of the 12yearold because many amish shun modern technology. They did not allow police to draw a sketch of the 6yearold. Then late thursday after the small town gathered for a prayer vigil, a breakthrough. Rescuers rushing to the family home after learning the girls were alive. Authorities tell us the alleged kidnapper dropped them off in the small town of richville, about 30 miles from their home. The girls walked up to a strangers house. Thank goodness they had enough courage to be able to do that. Knocked on the door and that person took them home.
