Well take you to their special ceremony. The big story on action news is the search for the gun plan who killed a 14yearold in chester last night and left two other people injured. Tonight a woman who was wounded during that shooting is speaking out to action news. This as the citys mayor is calling on anyone with any information to step forward. Reporter tremendous sadness and shock in chester that someone would just open fire on children and a woman just waiting outside a Convenience Store. The family has identified the victim who died as 14yearold nas powell. This is a photo of him taken before his middle School Formal this pageant friday. His 16yearold cousin seen on the left was also shot. He is in Critical Condition right now at crozerchester. The third victim jeanine slip man spoke with action news. She said she was in a car outside the Convenience Store talking to the boy when a suspicious car drove by. Gold car with back tinted windows went down the middle of the street. Im like just get home. We went to go to pull off. Wasnt no pulling off. Started shooting from everywhere. They shot, shot, shot, shot. It sounded like they even loaded back up or something. Shooting and shooting. Why would you shoot some kids and a mom for no reason . You know what, the bullet is coming out my back. They didnt have remorse. They didnt stop shooting. I got underneath the dashboard. Thats why im alive today. And shipley says she is not going to rest. She is going to find who shot her and the boys. Meanwhile mayor Thaddeus Kirkland issued a statement calling this a senseless act of violence that will not be tolerated and he urges anyone with information on this shooting to contact Chester Police. Were live outside Chester Police headquarters, jeff chirico, channel6 action news. A School Community came together to remember another teen whose life was cut short by violence. Nativity prep in wilmington held a Prayer Service to remember brandon wingo. Wingo who was just 15 was shot and killed on thursday afternoon as he was walking home from school. He was a ninth grader at Howard High School of technology and a graduate graduated from nativity just last year. This is i guess a safe place to feel all of the things and be with each other. Especially in the face of a city that isnt safe or doesnt feel safe at the moment. There have been no arrests in this case but sources tell action news they do know the name of the alleged gunman. The shooting came weeks after another howard student 16yearold amy joynerfrancis died after a fight in one of the schools bathrooms. A coroner found a penn state student who fell off a roof of home died of electrocution. Shannon mathers grind a high voltage wire in State College on friday. She then fell to the sidewalk. The death is being called accidental. A 17yearold Burlington CityHigh School Student was hit and child by an alleged drunk driver while walking with a friend late last night. It happened around midnight on route one flirt and east Federal Street in Burlington City. Antawn l. Timbers jr. Was walking off the road way when investigators say he was hit by a car driven by 42yearold Ricardo Patterson of willingboro. Patterson is charged with dui and reckless driving. Grief counselors will be at the school tomorrow. Underground explosion in the vicinity of Washington Square for several people from their homes today and even knocked out power across that area. According to peco the majority the of the power has been restored to residents. At left check all but six can customers are still in the dark. I heard this big kaboom. Reporter what peco says he heard was an underground cable malfunctioning at fifth and pine which residents say sounded like a and explosion. I came out to meet a friend for coffee and there was 15 peco trucks around here. Yeah. And glass all over the sidewalk. Literally went right in and damaged the brick right in front of my house and all of our windows shattered here. Reporter residents were evacuated. As peco crews work to restore electricity to a darkened block. When we got here the power was out. They said there was an explosion. Reporter anthony moved his son into the neighborhood this morning with no power. But for others. I just found out that i dont have power back in my house at the moment and im on the 500 block. Reporter spotty restoration may be a nuisance but it didnt slow the 500 plus people attending Society Hills historic home walking tour. Turns out that only three houses have lost power. We tried to divert people to the end of the tour first. I think it worked out but power did go on and it didnt it didnt stop you guys from having fun. Oh, no. Reporter now, fortunately no one was hurt during that incident. Apparently peco is supposed to be working throughout the night to repair that damaged cable and again hopefully restore power to those six customers. Reporting live in society hill, Christie Ileto, channel6 action news. Christie, thank you. Two Philadelphia Police officers were hurt in a crash this morning in south philadelphia. It happened just before 8 oclock. The officers were driving near the intersection of oregon avenue and 18th street when their cruiser collided with another vehicle. The officers suffered minor injuries and were taken to methodist hospital. A person in the other car also suffered minor injuries. No word yet on the cause of the crash. Police have arrested a man who they say was taking pictures up a womans skirt. They say the man in this Surveillance Video is 33yearold bobby hayden of chester township. This was taken inside the pretzel factory on 69th street. The woman confronted him inside the store but he ran off. Hes now facing several charges is that behind bars. Moving on to the accuweather forecast, it was another gray day today for the most part. Sadly its not over yet. The start of the work week will look much the same. The schools name is changing to cab greeny universit cabrini. It was also Graduation Day here at lasalle university. 1100 students received their undergraduate degrees at mccarthy stadium. On friday 700 students received their masters or doctoral degrees. It was also a day to remember for a very special couple from south philadelphia. Sometime he get a little frazzled but thats what im here for. Reporter hes receiving chemotherapy and has had to stop working but thanks to an Organization Called wish upon a wedding the couple said their vows in front of dozens of family and friends at the top of the tower in center city free of charge. From the venue to the deejay flowers Wedding Planning everybody has been making space this a special day for lonnie and karen. Reporter lonnie was diagnosed about a year after he and karen got engaged and the couple said without wish upon a wedding they never would have been table have a wedding like this. The Childrens Hospital of philadelphia hosted a reunion for patients with thoracic insufficiency a complex spinal condition that stifles normal lung growth. You can see this upper level low that is essentially cut off from the jet stream meaning theres nothing to kick it out of our region, so the showers will linger, not just for the rest of tonight but for that matter into monday and also into tuesday. The call from accuweather over the next 12 hours weve got some line early and with so much low level moisture there could be some patchy fog that develops during the overnight hours and even as you wake up tomorrow morning. Well drop down to 51 in the suburbs and 53 in philadelphia for the overnight low. Heres future tracker six. You could see 6 oclock in the morning its mostly cloudy, areas of patchy fog but no issues for the morning commute. Just give yourself extra time depending on if you pick up any of those areas of patchy fog.
