Nearly 20hour standoff with the gunman who shot and killed a delaware state trooper has come to a dead lid end. Deadly end. The gunman was killed after coming out of the house and engaging police. The standoff came after Corporal Stephen ballard was shot and killed in bear, delaware. Chopper 6 hd was over the scene this morning. The house was heavily damaged during the police operation. For hours throughout the night and this morning, they heard gun shots and explosions and choppers overhead and loud bangs. It ended in the Fatal Shooting of the suspect. Theres a lot of going on 3 hours after the suspect was shot and killed. In the distance you can see the crime scene tape up now. There are dozens of officials here some in camouflaged clothing and heavily armed, as well. They are taking in evidence that was left behind in the 20hour barricade. We are in the neighborhood in the brick mills development.
