Reporter the Jewelry Store own ever is out over a Million Dollars after an elaborate theft where they went to Great Lengths to get into the store including cutting a hole in the roof. Surveillance video captured the moment that two burglars broke foo the back of the store and their way in a small hole in the wall from the shop next door. Just past 12 30 monday morning you see the first suspect wearing all White Clothing and a halt and gloves and he shines the flashlight in and then hands a ladder to his partner coming down the wall. You see his accomplice climb down, the first suspect finds the surveillance camera wires and cuts them and then the shot goes black. The Business Owners next door arrived from vacation this morning to chunks of sheetrock on the floor and numerous holes on the walls and ceilings, employees wouldnt go on camera but the suspects used an unknown tool to break into the safe where the jewelry is stored at the end. Business day. Rolex watches and diamonds were taken totalling 1. 3 milli 1. 3 m. An employee tells me that the insurance will cover some of this but not all. We are now hearing from the parentses of a 21yearold man who was shot do death overnight just blocks from his home in philadelphia. The victim is identified as 23yearold rich lewis, he lived in this neighborhood a few blocks from here. There are candles and balloons sitting in the spot where this happened and his family and police are searching for answers. Rich lewis was just 23 years old and he was studying to be an auto mechanic on monday. His parents spoke to him yesterday about getting tokens for his job search. That was the last time. He lived here with us and we always prayed for him when he went out. Lewis was shot and killed at 4th and roseland in olney. Police were called for the report of gunshots and found him on his back. He was shot at least once in the torso and head. He dont have a motive for the shooting but based on blastic evidence, it appears that the shooter was very close proximity to the victim. I was always worried about him out here. I said son dont be out there too late. Officers placed leaflets around the area asking people to come forward with information. Rich was known as pop, and had a 5yearold son and loved football and was a drummer and very out coming. He doesnt understand the anger young people have toward each other today that leads to this deadly violence. It hits our home and other homes before this. We are people that believe and trust god.
