But the big story is a man under arrest for hitting a Police Sergeant with his car. He was hit so hard he was knocked out of his shoes and the driver kept ongoing. Katherine scott is live with details on the crash. Reporter sara, police say that this sergeant is lucky to be alive with the force he was struck with. He remains in the hospital in Critical Condition. A broken collar bone and injuries. As for the 21yearold driver he was taken into police custody. The last of the debris from the crash was swept away from t in manayunk where a Police Sergeant was injured in a hit and run. E sergeant was stru such force he was ripped from his shoes and thrown 15 feet and it happened just before 1 00 a. M. He was standing with two officers by a Police Cruiser that had its lights on and were conducted a traffic stop when this 2008 toyota rav 4 came south. And the toyota hit the sergeant and sideswiped the Police Vehicle and took off. Was in the rescue squad with him and in a lot of pain and bleeding. A tow truck driver whowitnesd the toyota and called officers. They were able to stop him on the 400 block and the 21yearold driver was taken into custody. He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. And the driver was taken to Police Headquarters for a breathalyzer, accor police he faces a number of charges including aggravated assault of a Police Officer and leaving the scene of an cident. Thank you. Delaware state policeave identified the 59yearold woman that fell to her death at lums state park yesterday afternoon. She was on the go ape aerial rope adventure course and about 35 feet aboveground when she fell off a platform. Police are still investigating how exactly that happened. Camden police are calling the gunman responsible for the shooting of an innocent 8yearold girl nothing short of cowards.
