Taking a look outside we have a promise of sunshine coming up over the shore later this morning as there is nary a cloud in sight by the coast. A little bit of cloud cover farther up north and west of philadelphia but even those clouds will probably break up to a degree today. 37 degrees currently in philadelphia. The temperature has slipped a bit in the last half hour or so. 37 degrees by or current in wilmington, 39 in trenton and allentown and reading and lancaster. 30 in millville and 39 in cape may. Satellite shows you those clouds off to the north but nothing down in south jersey and delaware and even the i95 corridor looks sun glass appropriate as we go a little bit later into the morning. Up in the Lehigh Valley today well call for mostly sunny skies. This is one of the areas where you might be doing battle with clouds for parts of the day but it looks like were still going to be fairly bright. A high of 41 though a lot cooler than yesterday. At the shore were going for a cool high of 44 degrees, mostly sunny and chilly and in philadelphia after hitting 64 yesterday only 43 today. So mostly sunny, cooler, still not a bad day, though and winds running northwest around nine to 18 Miles Per Hour today. 32 is the overnight low with more clouds gathering and before dawn tomorrow we expect a rain and snowy mix. The snow will be to the north of philadelphia. Rain mainly in the city. 32 the overnight low but that will be picking up pretty quickly as we go past the sunrise hour and that rain does look like it will be rain and not a problem otherwise for us in philadelphia and near i95. 45 degrees is tomorrow afternoons high periods of rain through maybe early to midafternoon. Up in the poconos it will be snow and in some of our immediate northern and western suburbs theres the possibility of some brief snow before a clover to rain. By 7 oclock by the way this gets starter around 5 oclock or 6 oclock in the morning. By 7 oclock you have the chance of some slushy roads developing in the Lehigh Valley northern bucks and montgomery counties and maybe the northern part of berks county and then the whole thing changes over to rain probably well before 10 or 11 oclock and the rain starts to filter out after about two or 3 oclock with just a couple of sprinkles and showers after that. What are we expecting on the ground is again a slushy coating to an inch possible in these northern areas. Be careful of perhaps some slippery spots on roads. The poconos one to three but everybody else no accumulation and basically all rain. Your seven day, todays high, 43 lots of sunshine chilly. Tomorrow 45 with some of that rain through the first part of the day and maybe a little bit of mixing and some light snow up in the northern suburbs. And then friday blustery, 40 degrees the high and there could be another popup snow shower or snow squall. Thats one of those quick bursts of snow that could make roads a little bit slippery in a hurry. Then for new years eve clouds mixing with just a little bit of sun, probably more clouds also a the day goes on, a high of 41. At night we cant rule out a brief rain or snow shower. I dont think it has much of an impact on your festivities and then on new years day mostly cloudy and a little bit milder. Well start out in the probably mid 30s by sunrise but 48 in the afternoon and all Things Considered not a bad day for eagles fans or mummers fans. Okay. Good news. Thank you david. It is now 6 11. Especially here on 95 and inn what used to be our work zone at cottman avenue in case you were off last week maybe you didnt hear we have four lanes now opened in he both directions here along 95 at cottman and so since they opened that fourth lane each way, we havent seen delays during the rush hours along 95 at cottman had been has been great news. The bad news is we still have the work zone farther south at girard so we are still seeing some delays on 95. Just not back at cottman. In that same neck of the woods near girard along shackamaxon street in fishtown still watch out for some restrictions because of the overnight fire but you can squeeze by. In Queen Village on columbus boulevard just one lane gets by headed southbound because of that water main break from last week. Were hearing that could be out there for the rest of this week.
