As we take a look at storm tracker6 live double scan we are looking at dry conditions obviously this morning and even though were starting out a little bit cool as we take a look outside, you can see that its going to be plenty bright out there with lots of sunshine and the winds really not much of a factor today. It was very breezy yesterday especially in the afternoon but not so today. 49 degrees currently in philadelphia. Were down to 43 in wilmington. 48 in trenton. Down to 39 degrees in both reading and millville and so some of these numbers a little bit on the low side but with light winds and that sun coming up and a quick turn around in store with these numbers, its really pretty easy to take this morning. Get a light jacket. You should be okay. Bring the shades if youre behind the wheel or just Walking Around as we have lots of sunshine getting ready to build in across the region. Yesterday we got well into the 70s across much of the region. Up in the Lehigh Valley today, only 69. But less wind and lots of sun. At the shore a little coolinger. Looks like well stop at about 60 or so in most shore communities today. Mostly sunny, less wind, though, so thats good. And in philadelphia, well see a high late this afternoon of about 70. Probably around 4 oclock or so well get that number. Mostly sunny, a bit cooler, but winds out of the north at only six to 12 Miles Per Hour. Not bad. If youre headed to the phillies tonight, its another one of those nights where you want to bring some layers to add as the game goes on because we are looking at a first pitch temperature of 66. A little on the cool side. And probably getting down to about 57 by the ninth inning. Not much wind at the ballpark tonight. Certainly not as much as last night. Overnight tonight mainly clear and cool, a couple of patchy clouds around. 47 is the low in philadelphia. And going all the way down to 42 effort in some outlying suburbs. Tomorrow things start to change. We get a warm front coming past us to the north. Area of High Pressure to the south changing that wind direction from the south. And thats going to bump our High Temperature up to 74. But we will start out with sun and then give way to clouds during the day with this frontal boundary combination heading in our way and then late tomorrow night in through friday there will be the chance of some showers. Your exclusive accuweather 7day, 70 is todays high, sunny and cooler than it was yesterday but still a very nice day ahead. Tomorrow sun giving way to increasing clouds during the day. A high of 74. And later at night or overnight a couple of scattered spotty sprinkles our showers possible. More clouds on friday with a few sunny breaks, mild, 77. At times well see he some showers. Some spotty showers possible and maybe a rumble of thunder. It does look like thats out of the way though in the evening and as we get into saturday, we get a quick return of sunshine and a high bouncing back up to 72. Looks like its really good weather for the union for that 6abc game at Talon Energy Stadium. Probably staying in the low 70s early next week, maybe some showers. Okay. Thanks, david. 6 12 just about. Yeah, and all afternoon yesterday, too. Thats when it started matt and tam. Theyre working on the suspension ropes which kind of sounds like an important thing to do at the delaware Memorial Bridge. So, its necessary work but it means that just one lane is getting by heading from Carneys Point into New Castle County. From chopper6 hd you can see the delays coming off of 295 southbound off of the new jersey turnpike, out of salem county headed into New Castle County because at the bottom of the screen you can see all but one lane, that far right lane is blocked because of this emergency construction. Theyre not giving us an end time on this yet. Theyre saying this could last for several days even. So, you really want to avoid this mess at the delaware Memorial Bridge not only this morning but perhaps for the next few days and i think the best way to do that is to head to the Commodore Barry bridge where right now traffic is fine. Yesterday afternoon we saw big delays there. I was sending people the whole way up to the walt whitman bridge but the bottom line is delaware memorial is definitely not where you want to be. And this is a continuing headache. Good morning, it is 6 30 here. Dave murphy has your accuweather but lets go over to matt pelman first and start with that breaking news for those poor commuters. Good morning, matt. Oh, yeah, you got to feel bad for them. Looks like a rough day on the delaware Memorial Bridge, guys. It was a rough day yesterday. Could be a couple more rough days. Theyre not giving an end time on this emergency work on the suspension cables along the bridge and the really bad news with this is at this point just the right lane is opened, just one single lane whereas it should be four, its just one lane available as you cross the span of the delaware Memorial Bridge into new castle this morning. This is the backlog that has resulted coming off of the new jersey turnpike off of 295 in salem county. Its just a long very very slow crawl across the delaware Memorial Bridge. Lets go to the maps and you can see the speeds that are resulting from this mess. Just 15 Miles Per Hour. 15 at best. If you can please stay up on the Commodore Barry bridge into chester Delaware County this morning. Then you can come south on 95 to 495 in you want but the delaware memorial not where you want to be all morning this morning and possibly for a couple of days. Well be keeping you posted. But the winds arent as strong as they were yesterday and were in for a nice bounce back this afternoon. Look at all that sunshine thats in store today. 11 oclock 62, 1 oclock 66 and by 3 oclock, 69 with that high of 70 probably clocking in around 4 oclock this afternoon. Less wind than yesterday. Lots of sun. Not quite as warm but still not bad. Unfortunately we still have a pretty bad pollen forecast for the next couple days. Friday for now is being forecast high but i think thats going to be in the morning. During the afternoon in particular well probably see some showers that will knock those pollen particles down a little bit. When i step inside well take a closer look at that rain on the way on friday. And your weekend call, its all coming up, tam. Thank you david. New this morning, a massive fire destroyed a bucks county home. A viewer sent us this video of the raging flames here on the 2200 block of palomino drive. The flames were through the roof. Winds are light, 6 Miles Per Hour so cool this morning but light winds, light jacket probably does the trick. And shades a good idea, too. Weve got lots of Sunshine Building in across the region with cloud cover really sinking down to the south behind a frontal boundary that has also pushed to the south. And of course were on the north side of that front which means its going to be a little cooler than it was yesterday when we were on the south side of it. But still a pretty nice day. First pitch 66 probably the upper 50s by the ninth inning. A couple of extra layers, at least one that you can throw on as the game goes on. Then tomorrow warm front is off to our north, cold front coming in from the west. High pressure to the south starts to if you think up more a southerly flow. Well see sunshine in the morning give way to increased cloud cover with that front coming in. By 6 oclock tomorrow it will be cloudier than it was in the morning. Same story at night, maybe a couple spritzes sprinkles and showers here or there. By friday morning probably still dry but as we get into friday afternoon and evening well starter to develop increased shower activity. The bad news here on the delaware Memorial Bridge it is a single right lane opened for all the traffic that usually uses the four lanes traveling from south jersey into delaware. Its been this way since yesterday afternoon. Were hearing it could be this way for a couple more days. It is a major mess already. The backlog is already huge coming off of 295 southbound in salem county, coming off of the new jersey turnpike, youre going to hit a wall of traffic and then its mostly a parking lot, at times a slow crawl up and over the delaware Memorial Bridge into New Castle County as chopper6 hd pans to the right youre seeing some of that backlog coming off of 295 and off of the new jersey turnpike. Local roads backed up approaching this as well. It is a major mess. You want no parts of this this morning or likely for the next couple of days. So, how did you get around it .
