Its our breaking story on action news. It knocked out service to a dozen customers in the fishtown neighborhood and detours as you know are in place around it for the morning rush. Action News Reporter Katherine Scott is live at franklin and thompson streets tracking the progress on those repairs. Katherine. Reporter matt, Water Department crews will be out here later on this morning to begin those repairs but in the meantime, this intersection is closed as well as some surrounding streets. A dozen properties are left without service and you can see where the road is buckled right in the middle of the intersection here in fishtown. So, this intersection remains closed. The Water Department was called here overnight for a water main break at frankford and thompson. Crews were able to shut off the 8inch main. Whout Water Service while repairs are made. Two of the properties have water in their basements. As for what this means for morning rush, expect closures in the area and those closures could last throughout the day. Frankford is closed frora to th. Shackamaxon is closed from girard to thompson and thompson is closed from leopard to frankford. The route five bus is detoured around here, too. You can get t girard. Girard is opened. Again, expect these closures this morning. The Water Department will provide updates later on today when more on when exactly we can expect these roads to open but again in the meantime 12 properties remain here without service and this intersection and surrounding streets remain closed. There is minor damage to the store front. And theres been long running tension and concerns over the security of the Schuylkill River trail and two recent robberies are raising the issues yet again. Philadelphia police say last week a group of teens muscled someone off of a bicycle and then stole it near race ted two teens jumped him and stole his iphone near 25th and weekend. This even after efforts in the last year to make the trail safer including the installation of and mile markers as well as the newly founded trail watch. New this morning, police in Delaware County released surveillance pictures of a man suspected of placing a skimming device on an atm. The device was placed on an atm at the Beneficial Bank on delmar drive in folcroft. It was on the atm july 1st and 2nd and then july 8th and 9th. The suspect made withdrawals throughout the area and they say he may have been driving a dark colored fourdoor vehicle. A search goes on for a person swept away in the brandywine river were in wilmington. Few other details have been released. Fast moving overnight storms led to several water rescues in the lehigh valley. Police blocked off part of lehigh street in salisbury township when flash floods caught drivers off guard.
