Work continues at this moment at the scene of that septa train collision in Delaware County. Action News ReporterKatherine Scott is lie at the 69th street station in upper darby with an update. Katherine. Reporter matt, crews have been here trying remove the cars from the tracks and you can see right now they have a huge light set up so they can even work in these overnight Early Morning hours as they try to move these enormous trains. Trucks are lined up here along victory avenue and the investigation continues. The injured in this include two septa operators and two passengers. Three of them were treater and d released but one septa operator remains in critical condition. The passengers should have gotten off the platform by the time this happened so its unclear why those two were still on board. Federal investigators from the National Transportation safety board were on the scene in upper darby last night after a collision at 69th street terminal tuesday morning. Three sixcar trains were involved. Seven cars in all derailed. Morning rush was under way when this happened around 8 10 a. M. Saw the second train pulling in and slowly stop. Then i saw three cars tip over. Reporter septa Officials Say a moving train on number two loop collided with the rear of a stopped train. The stopped train had been waiting to approach the terminal. The force of the impact pushed the lead car of the moving train outward into the path of a third train on the next track. The operator of the striking train is most seriously injured. Its unclear why that first train didnt stop. So, theres an automatic train control system its a signal system so the trains move under signal authority and the train the signal system will keep the trains separated. Theres no theres a manual override thats done from the control center if the need arises but the train control system should still keep the trains apart. Reporter so, as far as the service here this morning along the market frankford line at this point septa cant use this loop, so theyre going have to turn trains around at the terminal as opposed to the loop. Its no the quite as efficient but according to a septa spokesperson i spoke to this morning, he says that hopefully passengers shouldnt notice much of a difference so service should look pretty close to normal this morning. Were live in upper darby, Katherine Scott, channel6 action news. Okay, katherine, thank you for that. Some breaking news now. Two men were a wakened by app masked man with a gun who burst into their home on the 1400 block of north 17th street. Action News ReporterAnnie Mccormick is live there now with more details on the frightening ordeal. Good morning, annie. Reporter good morning, tamala. Luckily both of those victims are okay. Theyre with detectives right now with central detectives who are investigating this case. Over my shoulder you can see that police still remain here on the scene. Theyre actually waiting for the crime scene unit to come out here but over my other shoulder you can see the home with the door opened there. Now, we were told that this happened around 3 45 this morning, a masked man entered the basement unit of a house with a gun. Police think that he pride opened bars covering a window and that is how he gained access into the home. Now, once he was inside, we are told that he made off with two cell phones and a laptop. He was last seen running down 17th street. The victims, a 27yearold man and a 28yearold man did not report any injuries to police. Now, back out here live on this block theres another basement unit in one of these homes that also has a gate over the window of the basement unit and it looks like, police are not sure, but theyre investigating this, it looks like that someone may have tried to pull that off as well, so they think that this suspect may have tried to hit another home. Theyre not sure if he was scared off by somebody or just moved on to the next house. But again, both of those victims are not injured, they are with detectives right now trying to get more information. Theres not really a clear description because that suspect was wearing a mask but he was last seen running down north 17th street. If you have any information you are urged to contact police.
