The 30s yesterday at this time so a little better. 44 in millville. And notice how the winds are more out of the westsouthwest this morning and thats drawing in some milder air for the next several hours. A 13 Miles Per Hour breeze though in philadelphia so youll want to dress appropriately for that. Heres where the numbers go. 43 degrees by 7 00 and its one of those weird days where instead of hitting your high at about 3 oclock were actually going to hit it closer to midday. 54 will be the high. Then during the afternoon those winds shift a little bit more out of the west maybe a bit out of the northwest went wind up drawing in cooler air. At the same time the breezes pick up and by later today it gets rather windy an and blustery. 45 by 5 oclock and 7 oclock down into the upper 30s and that trend continues overnight and in through the next several days. Karen were looking at a cold snap and friday morning we could see snow on the ground. Ill have details on all that of coming up in the seven day. You know what, any little bit of snow would do to the morning commute. Its dry right now. Look at the problem we have rider now. This is the schuylkill expressway. Were watching live as penndot tries to get in place with their arrow bird. Schuylkill expressway westbound accident just happened at the conshohocken curve its blocking the right lane. We see penndot in place. Looks like its involving this truck and another vehicle so traffic is really jammed on the schuylkill expressway westbound. This just happened here at the conshohocken curve. Watch for a new accident. Other than that on the schuylkill expressway elsewhere around the region looking pretty good on your main roads so far. Were traveling in the 50s. Its a little bit damp on the roads from yesterday but today is going to be a better day. We have a touch of fog in one or two spots. Not seeing any big impact on the roads. We have this Fire Department activity and Katherine Scott has been live on the scene telling us a lot of restrictions in and around the area. The fire itself is on spinners town road near plover lane. Use schoolhouse lane to avoid that but katherine is saying they have several restrictions in the area. Also on the pennsylvania turnpike westbound between Fort Washington and valley forge weve got construction crews out there blocking the right lane but at this early hour were still seeing the green traffic flow so traffic is moving all right through that area. An Early Morning accident popped up here and very quickly cleared. This is 295 southbound at route 42. Traffic moving better right now matt and tam. Thank you, karen. Breaking overnight a woman runs an errand and says she returns home to an unlocked door and her boyfriend dead inside a bedroom. Reporter matt a short time ago homicides detectives and also the crime scene unit did leave here after finishing up in the 8,000 block of erdrick street. It was here at a first floor apartment lined me where the discovery was made. Take a look at this video from a short time ago of a vehicle being towed from the scene here. Crime seen investigators left about an hour ago. This is other video of the scene from earlier. Police did respond to an apartment on the first floor around 10 oclock last night. The 37yearold victims girlfriend made the discovery. She told police she left the apartment that she shares with the victim and returned to find her boyfriend face down in the bedroom next to his bed suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say that he was shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Well, damage to the apartment prompted investigators to call this a homicide. In addition to the victims body, there was another bedroom in the apartment that appeared to have been ransacked. There were some dresser drawers that were pulled out. There was also some fresh damage to a closet door. So, at this time it appears to be a homicide. Reporter and a number of people appeared to be friends did arrive here at the scene a short time after learning that the victim was pronounced dead here. A number of those people were taken down to homicide for questioning along with the girlfriend. They have since returned. They did not want to speak to us. Mother nature is going to act like lucy with the football sort of like heres the warm weather, take it away. It looks like well get a high today in the mid 50 but thats going to be around midday and then well gradually get windier and chillier in the afternoon. Boy whats coming next. All right. Storm tracker6 live double scan shows you theres no precipitation this morning. As we look outside we have decent conditions out there camera bouncing a little bit because some of us are looking at winds in the teens but the temperatures arent that bad. Youll want a coat morning but right now in philadelphia 44 degrees which is still a few Degrees Higher than todays average high. So, not too bad for january certainly. Winds out of the westsouthwest at 14 Miles Per Hour currently in philadelphia. A lot of clouds out there early, maybe even some patchy fog but were expecting to develop some breaks in the clouds and overall we should wind up with partial sunshine later today and the fork high is pretty good for this time of year. 54 degrees but notice how we hit it as soon as noon so youll climb quickly from 44 at 8 oclock to 54 by noon. But then by 3 00 down to 50. That might not sound too bad but the winds will be picking up so that 50 will probably feel a little chillier, maybe feeling like the low 40s and then were down into the low 40s temperaturewise by 6 oclock. So, you hit the high early today and then the winds pick up and temperatures start to fall. High temperatures across the region then are probably a little bit earlier than average. 49 degrees in allentown, 50 in reading. Mid50s in the i95 corridor and down millville and youll get about 52 in cape may. Might actually hold onto that 52 down south up until about one or 2 oclock. And then tomorrow that colder air you feel coming in later tonight stays with us. Tomorrows high just 36 degrees. Lots of clouds. Wind chills in the 20s as the winds stay brisk. And then a wave of low pressure comes up the coast and overnight thursday into friday morning we are expecting some light snow to cover the area and it will be snow with that that continued cold a high of only 34 degrees on friday. Here comes the snow. Again it looks like most of it holds off until after midnight on friday. This model run pushes the bulk into about two or three in there morning. 5 30 well be tracking some of this light snow from new jersey up to the i95 corridor. Some of your northern and western suburbs probably not seeing as much of this and then by 10 oclock in the morning were probably still looking at snow. It does look like it pulls out of here after about midday for the most part. What are we looking at on the ground. By the time you wake up in the morning some of you around philadelphia could see a coating to an inch. I think below allentown is where most of this is going to be but the farther south you go the better chance of one to 2 inches maybe three in places like cape may and southern delaware. Not a debilitating snowfall but the timing durin during the friday morning commute is not ideal. 54 is todays high with temperatures tumbling in the afternoon breezes picking up. Brick and colder thursday a high of 36. By friday morning weve got that light snow on the ground maybe a coating to an inch around philadelphia the way things look now. Stick with us on that though cause these things can always change. Wouldnt be out of the question if that storm system gets a little closer and maybe we add an inch but i think a coating to an inch is a pretty good bet. For the weekend saturday brisk and cold a high of 32. A second wave goes by the coast. It looks like on most models its far enough away where it just misses us but we have to keep the possibility of additional show on saturday down by the shore as a mention. Nonetheless weve got some big problems and this is an accident here on the schuylkill expressway westbound at the conshohocken curve and you could see penndot is out here with their arrow board. Theyre blocking the right lane so traffic really jammed on the schuylkill as you head westbound at the conshohocken curve. Penndot is on there, its an accident involving a truck and another vehicle all blocking the right lane. Another accident coming in to us and thats on the blue route as well so now weve got an accident on the schuylkill westbound. Weve got an accident also on the blue route southbound. The ramp to i95 northbound and that accident has been causing big problems as well so looking at this one, this is the blue route right now southbound ramp to i95 northbound. This accident is blocking the right lane and thats causing big problems as youre headed out right now. We see the crews out there on the scene. Heres the different shot of that i think might be clearer and you can see more emergency workers coming to the scene. Weve got police and it looks like only the shoulder is getting by on the ramp so its really blocking the ramp and traffic is just kind of squeezing by and the blue route southbound. The ramp to i95 northbound were seeing an ambulance leave the scene right now. So weve got emergency workers out here, penndot out here. Mostly blocking the ramp. Theyre just allowing some traffic to kind of squeeze by and it looks like that plans not leaving but just getting in a better position right now. So, a big accident on the blue route southbound, the ramp to i95, also an accident on the schuylkill westbound ramp to conshohocken so a lot happening this morning. And also weve got another problem here in trenton. This accident blocking all lanes on route 29 northbound. Its shut down at 129.
