They are dead in an overnight fire and a firefighter is hurt. Lets get right on over to action News ReporterKatherine Scott live on the 9800 block of bridle road in the bustleton section of philadelphia. Good morning, katherineism good morning, tam, thats right, two people lost their lives in this fire. So far they have not been identified. Meanwhile the fire marshal remains on the scene investigating the cause of this fire. There is a lot of damage to this home here. Broken out windows, the roof has holes, the flames were fierce then moved quickly. The fire started shortly before midnight on the 9800 block of bridle road in bustleton and when firefighters arrived heavy smoke and flames were showing. Firefighters called this an aggressive interior fire fight. 40 fire personnel and 11 apparatus were on the scene. It took 35 minutes to bring the fire under control. The fire burned the gas meter off the wall and there was a minor gas leak and an emergency evacuation but that leak is plugged up now. Firefighters took out two people from the home. One was found in the foyer, the other in the living room but neither survived. Unfortunately, the bustleton section of philadelphia suffered a tragedy today and Companies Found two victims on the inside on the first floor. They brought them out and started cpr immediately. But im sad to announce that we lost both of them. My other neighbors thought it was my house and because the flames were were so high in the sky and they just ran around the corner and just heard a lot of screaming and everything, just trying to get get to them and unsuccessful. Reporter and back here live you can see the extensive damage to this home. One firefighter was taken to the hospital with a minor injury. When firefighters arrived, apparently they he did not hear any smoke alarms but whether there were any smoke detectors in the house remains part of this investigation. Hopeful that gets kicked out by these winds pretty quickly and we are expecting a transition from mostly cloudy skies in some neighborhoods this morning to partly sunny through most of the day. High temperatures this afternoon in the he low 70s from philadelphia up to allentown. Upper 60s south of philadelphia and then mid 60s down at the shore today. Hurricane matthew has now fallen to a category three after interacting with cuba and the high mountains there on the eastern edge of that land mass but it is expected to eventually grow back into a category four as it moves through the bahamas over the next couple of days. It should be in the northern bahamas by thursday afternoon. And we talked about how theyre bracing for a big impact in florida. Looks like that storm is going to be just off the coast as a strong category four up until about halfway up florida and then it will drop to a category two as it gets off the coast of georgia but this is real close for this storm and even though the strongest side of the storm is out to sea a category four right offer your coast even with the winds coming over the top of it at 110 Miles Per Hour and probably a little less than that by the time they get onto shore that can give you a real big problem with storm surge and of course flooding and Everything Else that you get from that. But heres the big change from the National Hurricane center and this just came out about 45 minutes ago. The latest track of this storm since last night its been trending farther and farther out to sea and to the south but this is the first time that the Hurricane Center in the last three days has issued a track where the cone of uncertainty with this storm does not include our area. It now looks like a trough is going to dig down over us, its going to force the storm to the south and kick it out to sea and if this scenario holds we will have minimal if any impact from the storm. Latest spaghetti not models most of them also doing the same that you know keeping this storm well to our south so thats a big change for us and hopefully its a change that holds over the next several days. Tropical storm nicole formed late yesterday but this one is going to get blocked by matthew and kind of just meander out here for awhile. Finally early next week it may start to take a run toward the northeast or northwest i should say and bermuda could get hit by that. After that well keep our eyes on nicole. And then on saturday mostly cloudy and there could be a period of rain but this isnt from matthew the way things looking now its from a cold front coming from the west. Police say two men in a dark colored vehicle drove past a home late last night and opened fire. The children were inside the home. The threeyearold was shot in the face and the nineyearold was shot in the back. Both are hospitalized and no arrests yet. Surveillance video here captured the moment a house exploded in patterson, new jersey. The blast yesterday was Strong Enough to flatten two homes and send debris flying across the street. Moments before the explosion Authorities Say they received a report of a gas odor at one of the homes. They were able to evacuate all of the nearby homes in time.
