At some showers and ill go in tighter on these. You can see that this is pushing out of delaware over into south jersey salem county, the southern western portion anyway and the northeastern corner of Cumberland County picking up some of this. Looks like these are falling apart a little bit but its possible you get a 10 minute real heavy downpour and thats because of the warm and muggy airs a nas place and the factor we have a frontal boundary that will be interacting with that warm unstable air as we go through the day. Satellite and radar shows you not a whole lot of cloud cover out to the west. Were going for a sun and clouds mix today and eventually well be looking at additional showers and thunderstorms popping up ahead of an approaching frontal boundary. 71 degrees current in philadelphia. 73 in allentown. All these numbers for the most part a little bit milder than yesterday at this time. And the muggies are definitely here. Yesterday we were talking about mid 60 dewpoints. Now in philadelphia its upper 60s and its an indication that more and more humid air is continuing to rise up out of the south and continuing to make things a little bit worse for us. If you are planning that Early Morning workout youll be sweating this morning but the temperature wont be too bad. 71 degrees by 7 oclock. Up closer to 80 as soon as 10 oclock and then that 83 by noon and a high this afternoon of 87 degrees and that will be right there at 3 oclock. Through the afternoon some spotty drenching showers and thunderstorms are possible. After that it is excessive heat returning to the region and excessive heat watches posted by the National Weather service. This kicks in tomorrow afternoon. Doesnt end until friday evening and in urban centers in particular in these Central Counties we could get heat index values over the next couple of afternoons up over a hundred, perhaps as high as 104 and thats a little worse than last weeks excessive heat warning and watch. Karen ill have more details on all of this and well Start Talking weekend stuff. All right, dave, if you take septa regional rails you have been probably waking up a little early to try to get to work. Weve had such problems in the height of the morning commute, want to 7 oclock and 8 oclock seems to be the worst of it. New schedules went into effect on monday adding Additional Trains that septa has been leasing. Ill help you through that. So if you want to head out right now thats a good bet for you. Right now things are looking okay. We have a couple of accidents. Even at this early hour causing problems. Heres werent on the boulevard northbound at hornig road. A car took down a pole. Stick to 95 instead. Here you can see the rain that david has been talking about as that storm moved from delaware into south jersey. Some of your roads are wet on the turnpike in salem county, on route 48, 40, 295 youll be dealing with that. One more you shall i just want to mention. Well look at i95. He was shot in the face monday night along 60th street at baltimore avenue. Police say the gunman was a member of a require value basketball team. He also shot barnes teammate as well. That player and barnes mother both spoke with action news. The first shot my man got hit. He died right in front of me. Like he just fell and im like who that, who that and i just start running. I got lit on the second one. Whoever did it they know thats why they had to do that cause they are cowards, punks, bums. Police tell us they have the name of the suspect and theyre extremely confident that theyll make an arrest soon. There is a big shakeup in the works attempt tel at temple university. Governor tom wolf led the 31 billion budget take effect yesterday without his signature and without a plan to fund it. Today we got issues, tomorrow even worse issue in terms of that heat and humidity. Storm tracker6 live double scan shows that you we are starting out with a little bit of a shower that appears to be diminishing a bit as it pushes in from the delaware bay and in toward parts of salem and cumberland counties. Nonetheless rain is on the way to places like deerfield by about 5 43 and olivet by about 5 58. Takes about a half hour for it to move the length of that red arrow so maybe 35, 40 minutes route 55 south of glassboro starts to pick up some of this as well. Every now and again theres a heavier cell. If youre in bridgetown you might get about a five minute dose of that heavy rain. As we take a look outside everybody else across the region is drive. Your dewpoint is up to 68. Now, thats higher than yesterday and any time you get close to 70 degrees you Start Talking about very noticeable humidity, so definitely sticky out there today in most neighborhoods including philadelphia. Winds are light at 5 miles per hour. Future tracker6 showing you that through the morning were mainly dry. But as we get up toward lunchtime there is the redevelopment of some showers and perhaps some thunderstorms on the model and note how these are really opening up some drenching downpours. Thats because we have such humid air. You get a front coming in from the west and its got that unstable humid air mass to deal with when it does pop up something it can produce a downpour. By 5 oclock were still seeing a little bit more of that. By 10 oclock after sundown when the convective instability starts to subside we wont see as much action. If you see a storm today it will be spotty. Not everybody sees it. Anything that does form can produce gusty winds so take cover. Our high will be 87 degrees. In the 70s in the morning but during the afternoon well into the 80s, very muggy and obviously some showers and thunderstorms possible at times. Then we get into tomorrow and thats when the excessive heat returns. So, todays high is 87. Very warm and sticky out there. Cool drinks if youre leaded to that union contest tonight. Then tomorrow 94 degrees but it will feel like its between 100 and 104 because of the high humidity. Ugh. Ugh is right tam an thunderstorm is possible in the afternoon on thursday that could be strong. Friday dry and oppressive with heat index values up around 100. Saturday partly sunny mainly dry, not as intensely hot 89 degrees still moderately humid. Sunday the same story, 91 moderate humidity. Its only one cell we have been tracking south the steam looking good in Fort Washington. Lets switch to the boulevard. The boulevard northbound at hornig road weve got this accident where a car crashed into a pole. It had been blocking all lanes on the boulevard northbound but all the outer drive lanes are blocked. You can just use the inner drive to get around it. Now those inner drive lanes are opened but it could be closed for awhile because theyll be dealing with that downed pole in the outer lane so that is kind of a big deal to have emergency workers come out.
