An ugly scene in the frankford section where police say they discovered a woman badly beaten and her teen daughter sexually assaulted. They say that theyre now after a Family Member. Action News Reporter Katherine Scott is live outside of Police Special victim with the latest. Good morning, katherine. Reporter good morning, tam. Thats right, this all happened at a home in frankford overnight and Police Continue to search for the man they believe is behind this sex assault of a 13yearold girl and the aggravated assault of a woman. The call came in just before 12 30 this morning and Police Responded to their 1900 block of pratt street a13yearold girl met police and told them she had been sexually assaulted in the basement by a Family Member and that the person who did it was inside the home. Police knocked on the door of the home. They got no response. The officers went to the next door neighbors and climbed over from the second floor landing. They looked through the window and saw a woman bleeding profusely from her head and face. She was missing teeth. The officers notified the swat team who made entry and were able to get that woman to the hospital. They searched the premises butter the suspect had already fled. The teenager was taken to saint christophers hospital. Police were able to talk to her a little bit about what happened. After the assault she was able to run out the front door of the property where she notified a neighbor and the neighbors called 911 and thats when police 15th District Police officers talked with her and they began their investigation. Reporter and as for there woman, she was taken to einstein in Critical Condition with Severe Blunt Force Trauma to her head. Were live in hunting park, Katherine Scott, channel6 action news. Katherine thanks. Developing overnight a Police Officer from Delaware County is recovering from injuries suffered while chasing a Home Invasion suspect into philadelphia. Action News Reporter annie mcdorm mick imccormick is live m township with the latest. Reporter matt were told that that Police Officer from Delaware County from tinicum township is okay and only suffered minor injuries. It began with a chase that ended in philadelphia but started after that Police Officer was responding to a call of a Home Invasion and saw one of the suspects jump into a car and that is when the tinicum township Police Officer then gave chase. Well, this was the scene in philadelphia after the chase ended. Philadelphia police searched a large area around Delaware Avenue and spring garden. The chase between the tinicum officer and the person he believed to be a suspect ended with a crash around girard avenue. Thats where the suspect then fled on foot. Now, this all unfolded around 10 oclock last night. A 911 call for a Home Invasion in Prospect Park brought police from several different townships to the 200 block of lafayette avenue. An officer saw one of several suspects jump into a vehicle. That sparked the chase which went down 95. There are at least two other suspects that fled, possibly on foot, from the Prospect Park scene. Now, back out here live, we are told at this hour that police are still searching for at least three suspects. Were still waiting for an update at this time. Tinicum Township Police wont say much about how many suspects that they are in fact looking for. Now, on the video we originally saw that there was one person in handcuffs at the scene in philadelphia but that person was cleared and were told that that person is not a suspect in this. Were still waiting of course to hear more information but that officer again had minor injuries and is okay. Happening today a hearing for one of the three 16yearold girls charged in the death of a Wilmington High School student. Amy joynerfrancis died after a fight in the girls bathroom at Howard High School in apri april 21st to be exact. The teen in court today is accused of repeatedly hitting the girl in the head and torso. She is charged with criminally negligent homicide. Two other girls are charged with conspiracy. Their trials are scheduled for june 15th. Firefighters have been checking for hot spots at the American Legion post that went up in flames yesterday afternoon. The four alarm blaze broke out on the 2300 block of orthodox street in the frankford section of the city. About 20 to 30 veterans and their families were wrapping up a memorial day banquet when someone noticed smoke. One firefighter suffered minor injuries during the battle.
