Coming onto north broad street here in north philadelphia, construction crews appear to be in the process of clearing out here from the northbound lanes. They have been tearing up north broad between city hall and this point at Spring Garden and they were doing that again last night so the ride might be a little bit bumpy. In North Coventry a crash along Chestnut Hill road at cherry lane. No issues on 422. Overnight construction on 422 at 23 is gone. So both lanes opened both ways on this wednesday morning. Matt. Thank you, matt. Developing overnight bullets blast through a packed house wounding a man but thankfully missing several Young Children who were inside. Action News Reporter Annie Mccormick is live at northwest detectives with the latest. Annie. Reporter and, matt, thats right, there were 12 people packed into that home when bullets ripped through the front door and the front window. Four children were inside including a baby that was just six months old. Well, this is video from the scene last night where police say a 24yearold man was hit twice in the arm. It all happened around 11 30 at tenth and wagner in the olney section of the city. Eight shell casings were found at the scene, two bullets went through the front of the home and into the living room area shattering a window and also going through the front door. 12 people were inside including the four Young Children. Luckily they were not injured. The 24yearold is stable. Upon Police Arrival they were told by family members that the 24yearold had just been shot and heed in the scene on foot. While investigating the southeastern we were notified by einstein hospital that a 24yearold shooting victim had just arrived shot twice in his right arm. Where this victim was shot is about three blocks from einstein hospital. It turns out that this 24yearold victim ran three blocks to einstein hospital after being shot. Reporter and at this hour police say that that victim is stable. Again, those children inside the home ranging in ages from just six months to six years old. Again, they were not injured. Police are still investigating this. Of course if you have any information, you are urged to contact northwest detectives. At this hour the shooter is still at large. And happening today, the tugofwar over plans to save Atlantic City goes on. Assembly speaker vin center prieto plans to introduce new legislation to help the cash strapped resort town. Its in direct opposition to a senate backed takeover bill can which has the full support of governor Chris Christie. Meanwhile city council will vote on converting city workers to a 28day pay period. They say that would keep the government afloat after it runs out of money on friday. 5 35 now and happening today, mayor jim kenney will join other philadelphia officials to break ground on a Memorial Park at the site of one of the citys deadliest building collapses. Six people were killed and 14 were injured when a building under demolition collapsed onto the Salvation Army below. It happened at 22nd and market streets on june 5th, 2013. The Memorial Park is expected to be completed before this years anniversary of the collapse. Princeton university has hired a dean for diversity and inclusion. The announcement came one day after princeton rejected calls to remove Woodrow Wilsons name from its Public Policy school. Wilson a former princeton and u. S. President had supported segregation. New on action news a tv crew in oklahoma helped a man escape a wildfire. Video shot from the news truck shows the man attempting to drive a road grader away from the flames and then that gets stuck. And new from the overnight San Francisco is about to become the first place in the country to require full paid leave for all new parents. Two Police Officers made a startling discovery behind pet shop in north jersey. They found 67 puppies and small dogs packed in crates inside the van in paramus early monday morning. The officers say they heard yelping coming inside the van an powerful smell. The temperature inside the vehicle was only 38 degrees. The puppies were taken to an Animal Hospital to be checked out. Police say the van is registered to the pet stores owner. The Bergen County Health Department revoked his business license last week. A driver in Washington State accidentally struck that bald eagle but did his best to save the bird. He even cradled the majestic creature in his lap.
