By noon 88 and then your high is that 93 at 3 oclock and there is the chance of some popup showers and thunderstorms today that could produce drenching downpours and perhaps a little bit of gusty winds, too. 71 is your current dewpoint in philadelphia and as you look at these numbers, all of those 70s indicate oppressive humidity and that is what were going to be looking at the rest of the way today. And for the next three days weve got heat and humidity building in so get ready for this. Todays high 93. Tomorrow 92. 95 on thursday but look at the heat index values. Up close to 100 today and tomorrow and as high as 104 or so on thursday, so, karen, cool drinks all around the next several days and look out for the storms. At least 80 protesters were arrested. Police dragged some away as they chanted not to take away healthcare coverage. Time now to turn to dave murphy and accuweather. You really feel a change when you step outside really heavy air. You do, yeah. I mean, yesterday was pretty sticky down the shore but not in most of the region. Today we have a change. Storm tracker6 live double scan shows most of the area starting out dry. We have that one cell thats kind of falling apart north of honey brook heading to the east and more or less areas just to the north of the pennsylvania turnpike and western Chester County. Lets get you outside. You got sky6. Theres the airport. Kind of a pretty picture there. I dont know that weve had that shot all that often. And humid conditions there in case you were headed down to the airport or anywhere else. 69 degrees currently on the temperature dial, thermometer that would be up in allentown. 70 in reading. 77 currently in philadelphia so its warm and again those dewpoints as you look at these numbers are also in the 70s in most areas and that means oppressive humidity. Youll really feel it after the sun gets up over the horizon. In the Lehigh Valley today thot and humid, a spotty storm cant be ruled out and they could produce drenching downpours where they hit as well as some gusty winds today so take cover from any storms. 87 up there. Down the beach a better day as we have a much smaller chance of a thunderstorm or shower. Still want you to head in off the water if you or off the beach if you do hear thunder but it looks like low to mid 80s up and down the jersey shore and probably mid 80s down along the delaware bay. Moderate risk to small risk of rip currents today. Hot and humid in philadelphia. Spotty thunderstorm cant be ruled out and a high of 93 because of the high humidity it will feel like its about 98 this afternoon. And warm and humid overnight with maybe an evening thunderstorm. Otherwise just 76 and muggy overnight. Lets cover the rain story. Today maybe a little bit of something popping through later this morning particularly north of philadelphia but its really this afternoon that we expect some spotty stuff to begin to pop and again anything that does pop up could produce a drenching downpour. Theres obviously not a whole lot on Storm Tracker and future tracker as we look into the afternoon but anything that does hit could produce a drenching downpour or a strong gusty wind. Theres an isolated chance of a strong storm around the region today. By 11 00 were dry. Tomorrow morning probably dry but tomorrow afternoon we get into the same pattern where in spots in will be a drenching downpour producing thunderstorm. Its spotty stuff. Any storms that form well value high chance of producing frequent lightning strong gusty winds and a moderate chance of hail. Today theres a small chance of a strong storm that could bring you that sort of thing. The best chance this week is probably thursday. Your sevenday from accuweather hot and humid today. Some thunderstorms in some spots 93. Tomorrow humid way spotty storm 92 and then thursday weve got the red bar on there cause its going to be oppressively humid with heat index values up around 105 or close to that. And a better chance of some of strong storms. Then we ease that temperature way down on friday but its still muggy and theres still a chance of some isolated downpours and flash flooding possible then on friday. But we are settling down for the weekend so things are going to pretty quickly get better. All right. Thank you, david. It is now 5 11 and a sixers star makes a catch at the home run derby.
