It is an extra long weekend for people soaking up the sun at the shore this fourth of july. Karen is off. We are joined by dave murphy and matt pelman and between the four of us we have red, white and blue. We do. Yes, we are patriotic people. We are absolutely. Circles on your tie there. So, as we take a look at the weather sent we got satellite. Theres a little bit of cloud cover over the region right now and a couple of light sprinkles and showers that are popping through areas to the north and west of us. That could come in through the poconos and maybe even affect the Lehigh Valley a little later this morning. Overall were dry and warm. 76 degrees currently in philadelphia. Up in allentown a little cooler at 68. 73 at the airport in ac, 73 in dover and 74 currently in wilmington. As we go through the day, it is going to be warm. Not quite as hot as yesterday. 75 degrees by 7 oclock. By noon, 85. And your high today at 3 oclock will be that 89degree reading and then by 5 oclock 86 and by 7 oclock 79. Notice how i am posting the possibility of at least an isolated shower or thunderstorm later this afternoon and this evening and as we take a look at the fireworks call, its more of the same. Most of you should be okay tonight. It will be warm certainly, 82 degrees by 6 oclock. 79 by 7 oclock. And by 9 oclock, 76 degrees. Mainly dry in most areas. A bit on the humid side. But there is that chance of a popup shower or thunderstorm in a couple of neighborhoods and as we keep our eyes on satellite and radar later on this evening, well be tracking some of that isolated stuff. Hopefully your fireworks display is okay. Matt pelman its going to be an important night to keep your eyes on the skies, though. Absolutely. And i know it would be better if the circles were stars but thats not in the collection. Good morning to you, david. But speaking of circles, heres one of our most important circles or ovals as the case may be, its eakins oval in front of the art museum and its blocked off this morning. Just a few minutes ago the trash truck moved up to block access to the ben franklin parkway. Both drives inner and outer shut down for the remainder of the fourth of july festivities. Ramps from the vine to 23rd street are blocked but you can see on the big picture on most of the highways were looking just fine this morning. Volume is going to be light. No issues at this point on 95, the schuylkill, boulevard or blue route unlike last evening. Lets check that vine street expressway. Of course there was no overnight construction. All the crews are off for the holiday most return tomorrow but traffic is moving fine on the vine. Just at the bottom of the screen you see restrictions along the parkway for the festivities and because of those festivities detours on six of the septa bus routes. For the most part on septa and the other mass transit agencies were on a weekend schedule. Matt. Thanks matt. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie signed the budget deal early this morning. The agreement ends a threeday Government Shutdown meaning state parks will be back opened today for the fourth of july holiday. This after legislature went back into session monday to try and break the deadlock and come to a compromise. The agreement includes legislation to overhaul the states Largest Health insurer horizon blue cross blue shield. Christie called for annual audits of the nonprofits reserve level. The compromise also sets a range for their reserve and requires excess to be spent on policy holders. Were getting something done that i think is good for everybody. The most important thing is we open the state of new jersey again. Just want to add one thing. I know im going to be asking the governor, i think the speaker feels the same way, the workers arent at fault at this we couldnt get this done and hopefully well pay the employees for monday. Reporter and the good news for state workers is that they will get back pay for yesterday and holiday pay as well so theyll be happy to hear that, too. Reporting live in the sat center, Jeanette Reyes channel6 action news. Matt. Thanks jeanette. There is still no deal in harrisburg to pay for pennsylvanias 32 billion budget with the clock ticking. Governor tom wolf has until midnight on monday to sign it or it becomes law without his approval. The spending plan was passed friday but there is no agreement on how to actually pay for at this time. Lawmakers need to figure out how to cover a 2 billion hole. We continue to follow a developing story out of north philadelphia. This is where police are investigating a disturbing discovery of what they say are organs found in a childs casket right on the sidewalk. Authorities were called to the 3,000 block of west clearfield street just after 9 00 last night. When they arrived, they found a closed but unlocked casket on the sidewalk. Police say inside there was no body but there was a bag containing what appears to be human organs from an infant or child. A witness tells action news he heard a man calling for an officer and he ran over and saw the casket with his own eyes. I didnt know if some unwas alive in there. It didnt have no smell to it. Whatever was that found in there i guess is kind of crazy. Police continue to search two nearby cemeteries for freshly dug up graves. Theyve also been contacting Funeral Homes in the area. Then were going to. Reporter the ocean, okay. Then well see charlie. Reporter the payoff. Yeah then get pizza and then go back home. Long list. The trenton budget impasse also left some campers who were hoping to stay at state run parks scrambling. Operators at this privately owned avalon campground say they took in 12 reservations by those who didnt have anywhere to go but today as we know, all the state run parks are going to be back opened. Just in time. I used to love going down to the shore when i was a kid and my mom hated the sand but i had a friend whose family loved it and they always took me along. Lucky you. Thanks to the fromme. Mr. Fromme if youre watching i appreciate it. We have no precipitation out there to the north and west. There is a shower and perhaps a burgeoning thunderstorm. That is out of the region although it could track down toward allentown over the next hour or so. So, well keep our eyes on that. Sky6 right now shows us a mix of clouds with some clearing over the Commodore Barry bridge and we expect this sort of cloud cover for much of your fourth of july. 76 degrees currently in philadelphia. 74 in wilmington. Upper 60s in allentown. 73 in trenton. 72 in millville. And down in cape may, 73 degrees. Up in allentown today, clouds and sun overall. There is that chance of a morning shower or maybe a rumble of thunder. It looks like by the afternoon and evening, though, youre dry for fireworks and for barbecues. Thats the other thing that happens on fourth of july. 86 degrees, maybe if theres a parade up in the Lehigh Valley, once you get into the afternoon you should mainly be okay. Down the shore sun and clouds and an on shore wind helping cool you down a little bit. Looks like well be in the mid to upper 70s up and down the beach with a low risk of rip currents although i still want you to swim near the lifeguards and it looks like as we get down toward rehoboth and Bethany Beach were up closer to 80. There is the chance of a popup shower or thunderstorm this afternoon especially along the southern beaches but anywhere down the beach you do that want to be careful of that and in philadelphia clouds and sun, a spotty shower or a storm cant be ruled out. And a warm high for your fourth of july of 89 degrees. Heres what your barbecue forecast looks like. If youre out early getting the grille set up, 75 degrees by 7 oclock. 83 by 11 oclock and by 1 oclock, 86 degrees. By 4 oclock, youre in full swing with 87 degrees and 79 by 7 oclock. Again, especially during the afternoon in philadelphia and early evening, there is a chance of a spotty shower or a thunderstorm. Speaking of which, lets go ahead and track that with future tracker. Early this morning that stuff that i just showed you on radar does look like it might sweep through at times as late as 10, 11 oclock there might be a lingering shower popping through areas like allentown and reading. Then we get into the afternoon and most of the area is dry with the next issue being down south. Dover down towards rehoboth you could see showers and maybe downpours. Then we get up to 6, 7 oclock and the model wants to keep something around philadelphia for the early evening so that will be something that well be watching tonight on action news. Cecily tynan will have the latest for you. By 9 oclock when the fireworks are starting most of the area looks dry. The model stubbornly wants to keep something in the vicinity of philadelphia. Well see whether or not that actually happens. Shortly after 9 00, 9 30 things should dry out in most spots. 69 is the overnight low then. An evening thunderstorm giving way to drying overnight and some lowering humidity for tomorrow. Your exclusive accuweather 7day, todays high 89, clouds and sun, a spotty isolated shower or thunderstorm cant be ruled out and youll want to take cover from that if youre at a barbecue or maybe just keep your eye on your phone on the way out to fireworks tonight to make sure nothing is popping and of course action news will have the latest radar at four, five and 6 oclock. Partly sunny less humid wednesday, 86. Nice day there and then 84 on thursday with a possibility of a little bit higher humidity and another spotty storm. Friday a little better chance of some showers and thunderstorms either late in the day or at night. As a front rolls through. But the latest model projections are suggesting that fronts gone in time for the weekend so we look for lots of sun on saturday and sunday. Now, if the front hangs up i might still allow for a are shower or thunderstorm on saturday. Right now its not looking that way. I like the optimism. Yeah.
