This deal has been four years in the making. Teachers voted overwhelmingly for it, teachers counselors and other staff. We got a lot of reaction but in one word, theyre saying finally. After more than four years of often tense negotiations, monday night Philadelphia Public School teachers voted to approve a tentative contract agreement with the School District. The three year deal approved by the Philadelphia Federation of teachers is worth 395 million and includes raises for the more than 11,000 teachers, counselors on other staff members. It also ends five years of impasse without a raise. Im very happy to report that the membership of the pft ratified the tentative agreement. Reporter music teacher colin sharp says its not an ideal contract but its something. Im really happy with it. I think its not perfect but i dont think it was ever going to be perfect. Investigators say the raid has nothing to do with the murder of kauffmans wife april 5 years ago. Philadelphia Police Continue to investigate a deadly shooting that happened this weekend. 29yearold ariken darden was shot. Darden was shot after an argument escalated outside the club. Police have not said anything yet about an arrest. Darden interned at 6abc back in 2009. His family plans to hold a memorial tonight at the scene of the shooting. Workers at a government building in trenton will work a shortened day today t2 water pipes broke. Crews had to shut off the water when the pipes broke which meant the air conditioning couldnt run. The 1,000 employees who work there dont have to report until noon today. The cleanup will go on in communities across the Delaware Valley after yesterdays strong storms. This video from a Security Camera shows that tree split in half and falling across the street. It happened as the storm hit South Whitehall township. Utility crews will be busy again today to try to restore electricity to areas that lost it. Action news found these crews working on the power lines along the 1000 block of knapp road in montgomeryville after the storms swept through. The most likely center of landfall if we see that would probably be to the west of new orleans and that would be in a couple of few days. Well keep our eyes on that, though. Otto warmbier returned to ohio last week but was in a coma. He was convicted of stealing a propaganda banner and was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor o the former university of virginia student was held for more than 17 months. The cause of death has not been released but doctors do know warmbier suffered severe brain damage after more than a year in a coma. Investigators in london released new details about the suspect in a terrorist attack that targeted muslims. Police identified him as Darren Osbourne a 47yearold white man from wales and the father of four. According to people who know him, osbournes hatred for muslims increased after the London Bridge attack a few weeks ago. Police say osbourne drove a van into a crowd of men leaving a mosque on sunday. One man died at the scene but may have suffered a medical issue beforehand. 10 others were injured.
