Scary moments for a group of Temple University students robbed at gunpoint in their off Campus Housing but theres some key questions here including why was the door that the intruders used left unlocked in the first place . Reporter good morning, tam, thats right and the students thought that their door was closed. I think from that perspective but at this point they are very shaken up and say they dont even feel safe inside their home anymore. This happened early this morning inside a north philadelphia home on the 1800 block of north bouvier street. The house is just a few blocks from temples campus. A number of students live around here. It was around 2 00 a. M. Police say three armed men walked through the unlocked front door. They were Wearing Masks and all black clothing. One of the victims told me he was hanging out with two of his friends. They had come back from the bar about a half hour, 45 minutes earlier. Two other roommates were upstairs in their rooms. Suddenly the door to the basement flung open. The men told them to get down. They kept asking the students where the money was. They held knives to their backs at one point a gun to this victims head we spoke to. The suspects ripped through the room taking iphones wallets cash keys laptop video came consoles debit cards and then they left. They said stay on the ground for 10 minutes. Otherwise well shoot you guys p when i heard the final door which im go off i ran and pulled the fire alarm and we dont have any phones or anything to call anybody so thats what we did. That student did ask that we not identify him. The fire company came and the students told him that they were robbed and then the Police Arrived. The two roommates that were upstairs didnt actually know anything had happened until that fire alarm rang. This all remains under investigation. At this point they dont have any detailed descriptions of the suspects. They were wearing all plaque clothing, wearing hoods, Wearing Masks. Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting in the citys West Oak Lane neighborhood. When Police Arrived to the scene and scene along the 7200 block of rodney street last night they found a jaguar smashed into a tree and the driver was suffering from a gunshot wound. A woman who was sitting in the passenger seat told police that a man suddenly jumped in front of the car and started shooting at left 12 times. The driver was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. A delaware judge says he will rule tomorrow in the amy joynerfrancis trial. Closing arguments wrapped up yesterday. The 16yearold died following a fight at Howard High School of technology in wilmington. Joynerfrancis had a rare and undiagnosed heart condition. At this point were all devastated. Its its almost like reliving it for the first time. The alleged 17yearold assailant is charged with criminally negligent homicide and conspiracy. The two other teens are charge d with conspiracy. Philadelphias top prosecutor could go to trial next month if a federal judge gets his way. District judge paul diamond rejected a routine bid by prosecutors who wanted more time to prepare. District attorney Seth Williams is facing several federal charges for bribery and extortion. The judge has tentatively ordered williams to be ready for trial may 31st. Atlantic citys mayor is proposing the first tax cut in a decade. Even though they are in the middle of severe Financial Hardship and a state takeover. The city will hold a public Budget Hearing next month on don guardians 206 million i dont and dollar budget. In addition to cutting municipal property taxes by 5 percent, the budget slashes Public Safety spending by 8 million and administrative costs by another 5 million. It comes just days before Current Police chief Bobby Cummings is set to retire. Hes served with the department for 32 years. A Florida School is accused of punishing special needs students by putting them behind a piece of try wall. The parents of a child with Cerebral Palsy is that suing the Duval School District in jacksonville over claims of abuse. Their threeyearold child was one of 120 students placed what was called a discipline box. Administration was aware of it. Teach terse used it.
