But the big story this morning is the temperature. Its not nearly as uncomfortable and raw and bitter as it was the last couple of mornings. Were already up to 43 degrees in philadelphia. 37 in allentown, 35 still rather cool in reading, 42 in wilmington, 43 in trenton, 44 in cape may. And notice how the winds are coming up out of the southwest. Thats a good direction for us as its drawing in even milder air for the afternoon. And the winds have dropped off a little bit. That were blusterier about an hour ago. Now down to 12 miles per hour. I think overall you can consider today kind of a breezy day though. 41 degrees by 7 oclock. And its also going to be milder. 44 degrees by noon. And your high today 51 degrees at 3 oclock before we slide back down into the mid 40s by 7 oclock. Theres some rain tonight in the forecast. Overall on the big picture your main roads looking pretty good in kensington we remain with boston street shut down and you want to stick to york street as your alternate for that one. Lets go right now and check on an accident in the northeast extension. We had a couple of accidents out here that sounded pretty bad but this one cleared southbound between Lehigh Valley and quakertown. This accident where someone just drove right into a pole is cleared now also on main street and sixth street but we do have traffic lights that are a issue here on route 70 at penn avenue so watch for this one in cherry hill. Theyre malfunctioning at this point so street it as a stop sign, tam and matt. Thank you, karen. Breaking route now a man turned the tables on an attacker while walking in the olney section of the city. Police say the man punched him so police say the victim pulled out his own weapon. Action News ReporterAnnie Mccormick tells the rest live from northwest detectives. Annie. Reporter victim is licensed to carry. He told police that he was assaulted by that suspect after he was leaving a restaurant. Then the suspect chased him. Thats when he was afraid, pulled out his gun and shot that suspect in the leg. Well, take a look at this video. This is video from the scene. This all happened just after 11 oclock last night at fifth and west rockland in olney. Place say the man was leaving a chinese takeout with two friends when his alleged attacker punched him in the families as the victim ran, the suspect then chased him in fear the armed man pulled out his weapon and shot the suspect in the leg. Now, the suspect was taken to einstein hospital where he does remain in stable condition. Again, police say that the armed man is licensed to carry a weapon. Back out here live, police say that the shooter stayed on the scene and waited for police and he also told police he had never seen the suspect before. Two men he cant canned with a late night shooting are on the run. Gunfire erupted on north 60s street in west philadelphia. A bullet hit a 42yearold man in the hip. Police believe the victim was being robbed when that gunfire broke out. Now that victim is in stable condition. Police have not released a description of the alleged shooters. And also new on action news, wet weather may have caused a nasty crash on the roosevelt boulevard. The action cam was there as police investigated the crash in the feltonville section of the city. Police say the collision happened just after midnight in the southbound lanes of the boulevard near sixth street. Investigators say the driver lost control and ended up runing into a septa power pole knocking down the wires. You can see the damage to the car there. No word on the drivers current condition but that road has been reopened. A former teacher in the north Penn School District has been arrested and charged with having a sexual relationship with a female student. Mark miller was a military science instructor the north Penn High School jr rotc. Miller resigned on november 14th. Several students contacted authorities and they contacted the police. The student revealed she has been in an inappropriate relationship with miller for several months and that it was consentual. We went to millers listed address but no one answered the door. I was a former educator myself and its appalling. This is not something that you would expect to happen with a student and a teacher. Miller has waived his preliminary hearing. A trial date has not been set. From our new jersey news room as many as 900 children who received federally subsidized vaccines in ocean county may need new injections. The department of health says the vaccines may not have been properly refrigerated. They were distributed at Southern Ocean pediatrics and Family Medicine in manahawkin by the office of dr. Michael bleiman. The children who were affected participated in the vaccines for children program. The state has filed a complaint claiming gross negligence and professional misconduct by dr. There are some clouds around for now but you can see some clearing out to the west and i think its going to be one of those days where we get a period of sun early and then some more afternoon clouds likely dig in. 47 is your high up in the Lehigh Valley, a mix of sun and clouds, breezy up north. Another feature is going to come through later tonight though and bring in another round of showers every now and then there could be a little hit of steadier rain and then that that all clears out in the overnight hours and things should be drying out in time for your thursday morning. Traffic can get by on the shoulder but you want to expect some delays with an overturned vehicle here in ocean county so app handful of early accidents, roads are a little wet so slow it down just a bit.
