Meet buttercup and sasha, these are only temporary names given to the two rottweilers rescued by marcus brown. He saw the two female dogs stuck along the Schuylkill River thursday and immediately knew he had to help. I think somebody abandoned them. I dont want to think that. I think they got really far and happened to fall in the water. Reporter these pictures show the dogs covered in algae in need of a helping hand. Brown is a rower and his boss called him about 6 00 a. M. Thursday when she saw the dogs stranded in the water not far from the Saint Josephs university boathouse. It was good seeing those dogs get up on the dock. Reporter brown says his friends call him rottweiler whisperer because he has a twoyearold named mocha. Mocha said he called police who called animal control. He left thinking those dogs would be okay but says he only returned to find the officers gone and those dogs still there. If theyre still there im going to save them some way, some how. Reporter animal care and control team of philadelphia says the initial report came in for loose dogs. She says by the time the crews made it to the scene the dogs had fallen into the water. She commends him for having a big heart and opening up his home to the dogs. Having a citizen that is this concerned for these animals and wants to help in the community allows us to focus on helping animals that are in more need. Reporter there is an official report with animal control and brown is working on taking the dogs somewhere to check to see if they have a microchip to help track down the owners. For now he says buttercup and sasha are in good hands. I can take them but it seems like the two want to go together. I would like to see the two go in the same home.
