This afternoon as the school board tries to come up with some kind of solution here, vern. Reporter trouble in the class appear to be ahead brian at this point the School Districts solution appears to be to cut off funding and revoke the schools license. Its the only Charter School among more than 80 city wide that that currently faces revocation of its charter. This is the ninth and sedgley building the Charter School has been occupying for years but now the landlord wants to evict them as the charter created in 04 continues drowning drowning in hundreds of dollars of red ink owing money all over town. All classes k through eight were shut down a week early in june without warning or ceremony. Teachers tell me they have resigned en masse and found new teaching posts elsewhere. Were protecting their identities. Now were going on three paychecks we have not been paid. Reporter what have the officials told you so far. Theyve told us nothing. Reporter we were unable to contact anyone on the board of trustees or its Administration Today for comment t Charter Schools here are funded by taxpayer money but the Philadelphia School district has relatively little control over the management of them. But under way now public hearings to revoke the license to operate on grounds of a miserable classroom performance and failure to make payments to Employee Retirement and pension funds. It is the lowest score of all report types. Lowest score of any Charter School in the city. Yes. Most of the teachers have had to go to the Welfare Office to get unemployment, food stamps. Were no longer covered Health Insurancewise. They were supposed to cover our Health Insurance until the end of august. Weve had no Health Insurance since may first. Reporter monica, one other note here. Lets go outside to meteorologist adam joseph see if we can stream it along a little longer. Hey, adam. Maybe a few hours but then changes coming in tonight. Feeling the humidity, thats increasing and so is the chance of showers. As we look at storm tracker6 live double scan, you can see some rounds of rain skirting northern Lancaster Berks as well as Lehigh County heading up into the poconos. That is one round of rain along interstate 78. But as we widen out you can see there are more in the way of downpours and thunderstorms scattered anywhere from the ohio Tennessee Valley i was points to the east along a cold front and that is moving in our direction. So well be tracking these for the next 24 hours. But for this evening, again, most areas dry for the first couple hours between 7 oclock, 8 oclock with temperatures in the upper 70s. It is humid with downpours and scattered thunderstorms will be developing later this evening. So you may want to bring an umbrella just in case you get hit by one of them. As we head into the weekend its kind of a 5050 split here. Tropical humidity returns again for saturday with rounds of downpours, showers on thunderstorms the entire day on and off. Then on sunday, relief arrives. The sunshine comes back out on the humidity drops. So, we will salvage your sunday. We will take a look at future tracker6 to time some of these downpours and thunderstorms for you coming up in that full accuweather forecast in just a little bit. Brian. Adam thank you. Turning to major trade for the Philadelphia Eagles sending a fan favorite packing. Starting wide receiver Jordan Matthews is now heading to the buffalo bills. Jaime apody joins us now with the details and to explain what the birds are getting in return. Jamie. Reporter brian, its no secret the eagles needed a starting cornerback for awhile and to get one we had to give away something that another team would actually want. Somebody decent Jordan Matthews fit the bill. Darby has a ton of upside young only a year out of florida state. His rookie season he was named defensive rookie of the year by one publication. The birds give up matthews and a third round pick in next years draft. Jordan has been the eagles top receiver in the past two season but his role would have decreased this year. Hes entering the final year of his contract. What the team will probably miss the most is jordan was a class act and a locker room leader. Youre feeling like youre celebrating and doing a dance because youre getting a good pick. In this league youre not able to get something unless you give up something. The hardest part was talking to jordan about out. Thats hard thing to do. It never gets any easier in this business because however good he is as a player hes a better person but we got to do what we think is in the best interests of this Team Moving Forward and thats why i made the trade. More on the trade including the social media reaction from matthews teammates who are sad to see him go. I was pretty surprised when i heard about this. Yeah. But they had to give up somebody. Nelson aguilar wasnt going to work. We regain you to this team back from maternity leave. How about that. Love it. Great to have you back. Thrilled to be back. Time right now for a check of the action news traffic report. Gina gannon in for matt pelman in the action news traffic center. How we looking out there gina. Definitely a friday and the roads are showing. That looks like a lot of people are leaving town maybe taking advantage of the last weeks of summer while we can. Showing you on the big picture its a lot of red especially on the schuylkill expressway. Look at that westbound delay right at city avenue. 9 Miles Per Hour so definitely going to be slow on the schuylkill. I would say right now tur biggest delay is on the schuylkill expressway so plan ahead for that on 95 we have our typical slowdowns northbound from penns landing towards allegheny. Slow on the southbound side. The vine is crowded as well as that will blue route. Expecting a blue route delay and southbound from route 30 to 95. A fire location in parkside. Parkside avenue is closed between belmont avenue and girard. All lanes are blocked there. Maybe the vine is clearing up just a bit only on the westbound side. Good to go maybe a slight tapping approaching 76. That eastbound side is jammed the entire length 76 through 95 so give yourself extra time and the when we have jams on the vine it always affects us on the schuylkill expressway. Thats why we have this big eastbound delay on the schuylkill. About 33 minutes if youre traveling between the blue route to the vine. 30 westbound. Westbound things might be getting a little better here at the vine but approaching 76 theyre heavy. Monica and brian ill send it back over. Thank you gina. The weekend is right at our heels and meteorologist adam joseph has good news and bad news. Well get the bad news over with first and the second half we can salvage on sunday. A live look right now, some folks enjoying the zapped in cape may here. A pretty decent day down there with hazy sunshine, the humidity coming up a little bit and trying to kick a little bit of a sea breeze off the shore as well so a very nice way to round out the week in spots. As we take a look at storm tracker6 live double scan right now there you can see a batch of showers especially to the north and west. It is skirting areas of berks county as well as Lehigh County right along 78 between bethel hamburg lifting north of 309 west of allentown, moving to the north and west from the south and west but well continue to see these popping up across the region as we go through the evening overnight hours and again during the day tomorrow. Satellite and radar you can see that spin off to the north there in the central part of the great lakes. Its associated with a cold front with that low pressure working into the ohio valley so that its pulling up some humidity, some clouds and again, downpours and thunderstorms beginning to pop here and there. Gina gannon in for matt pelman. Hi, guys. The good news is that we just had an accident that just wrapped up. It was out there on 95 northbound just after broad street. You can see it is good to go. Now we saw some traffic, this delay has to run its course and on the northbound side youre delayed back to the girard point. The accident is down here. No issues really if youre traveling on the southbound side but lets talk about the fire location in crescentville we were talking about. Its on tabor avenue past devereaux. Watch yourself there. Dont forget about that Police Activity because of the shooting going on at target in northeast philadelphia. Thats out there on bustleton avenue shutting it down between cottman and bleigh. Speaking of northeast if youre traveling over the twin bridges on the roosevelt boulevard to get to the northeast that northbound side very slow. From this point at 76 all the way out to broad street so definitely going to be a slow go but it looks like southbound youre good to go approaching schuylkill expressway. Were getting word that all regional rails are seeing delays up to 45 minutes. All due to signal issues. That could be a setback for you. I want to take you to skippack area. Schwenksville excuse me on route 73 an accident on Skippack Pike at route 29.
