Earlier investigatorring depicted a ping from stevens cell phone in eerie pennsylvania. Then came those 911 calls reporting unconfirmed sightings on the belmont plateau where a softball game continues and visitors stopped by even as police fill the streets nearby. I think its crazy. Yeah, i dont i mean, the world is crazy right now so, you know, a lot of things happen and people just crazy. Reporter about an hour ago police in cleveland held a News Conference to give an update on the search. Were still employing steve to turn himself in. Definitely to contact a relative or a friend because there are a lot of folks out there that want to talk to him, want to get this resolved peacefully. Reporter now fthe lockdowns at those 30 philadelphia schools were listed in time for dismissal. Again, no indication that he was or is here in philadelphia but todays search here in Fairmount Park sure is indicative of the high level of alert in multiple states. Police made a gruesome discovery this afternoon in northeast philadelphia f they found a badly burned body inside a. M. Sushi restaurant that was shut on the 400 block of Franklin Mills circle. Construction work terse first saw the body and immediately called 911. We dont yet know the age of the victim or just how long he has been deceased. A Delaware County Church Congregation is shaken but determined to rebuild after a fire. Action news got a look in the scorched Memorial Presbyterian Church near boothwyn. The damage is extensive but the main frame of the church was saved. A viewer sent this video. The processional cross is among the valuable pass burned. The reverend says the church will be repaired. No word on a cause. Fire also tour through a south Philadelphia Row home this morning. Chopper6 overt 700 block of christian street at 9 00 a. M. Firefighters had ladders against the front and back of the home to assess the damage. Everyone inside was able to escape. That cause is still under investigation. As it stands now there were 27 shootings an more than a dozen different crime scenes since 2 00 a. M. Good friday morning. At least four people were killed and as you can see, from the map here, the carnage spans the city. The violence continued into the overnight and morning hours. A father and husband in his 30s is the latest victim in an incident that happened along the 600 block of clementine road in kensington. Around 5 45 this morning the victim and his brother were just outside of their home when two men ran up and shot the victim 15 times. Five times in the head alone. The numerous evidence markers show where each shell casing fell. His motherly is mother is devastated. Somebody really wanted to hurt my son for nothing. Whoever did that to my son i hope they come forward because im telling you karma do in the play. The victims brother is okay. Two other people were killed between saturday and sunday. Another was murdered in the overnight hours today. A dozen others were injured in gunfire that included a quadruple and triple shooting. The homicide count is up compared to this time last year at least 20 percent. Police commissioner richard ross tells us 92 people have been murdered since the start of the new year. In this latest wave of shootings so far no arrests have been made. Brian. All right, alicia, thank you. Two men whip handguns jumped over on the counter and demanded money from the registers. Once the employees complied the suspects started grabbing all the cash they could. The roof had to be covered up and you can see in the parking lot here some Church Members looking at everything. Theyre turned as youre about to hear theyre also resilient. They plan on rebuilding. It was a devastating fire. You can see the inside of the Memorial Presbyterian Church in boothwyn is torched. Extensive damage on every floor, cell phone video shows the flames. Just one day after the easter holiday, the 30 plus members who worship here have lost their home. For members like bill dougherty this truly is a home. Fire crews say structurally the church is still sound so it can be rebuilt. We spoke with the reverend to asked the firefighter to try and find something dear to his heart they d it was this cross. Given to me when i was ordained. This is a processional cross. Its made with brass and its covered with gold plate. Reporter other Church Members say though its burned like the church it will serve as a reminder of whats to come, thats rebuild. Another look here at the church and at the parking lot here with those Church Members much so sad for them but again, you hear they want to rebuild and the good news is no one was inside when this fire sparked, there were no injuries. More than 30 schools throughout West Philadelphia were locked down today as police tried to determine whether an ohio man wanted for murdering a stranger on video was in our area. Police fanned out across belmont plateau in Fairmount Park looking for Steve Stevens that after multiple 911 calls reported sightings of the wanted mans car in philadelphia on sunday stevens allegedly approached a 74yearold man asked him to say his exgirlfriends name then shot him at point blank range. Afterwards steven posted video that of murder on facebook. He has been on the run since with tips coming in from several states including our area. All the school lock downs were lifted by the end of the day after Police Found Nothing and this is what that scene looks like right now from drone6 a marked difference from just a few hours ago. Now that the allclear has been given there. Back here flames gutted part of a row home in wilmington delaware this afternoon. The action cam on the scene in the 600 block of west sixth street shortly after firefighters knocked down the blaze. When crews fst arrived heavy flames were coming from the third floor of this three story row home. They were able to get it under control in pow an hour. We are still waiting to hear what may have sparked that fire. The man accused of a deadly ambush on Pennsylvania State police spent more than a year planning that crime. Thats the argument prosecutors made today showing evidence that eric freins laptop was used to search for how to escape a manhunt. Frein avoided capture for 48 delays before u. S. Marshals found him hiding in the poconos. He is accused of killing one state trooper and injuring another back in 2014. A Court Hearing was held today in Chester County for gary lee fell len bomb the suspect in the torture killing of a little threeyearold boy. He allegedly beat Scotty Mcmillan to death in 2014 with help from the childs mother julian tate. The boy was found unresponsive in tates home and later was that pronounced dead. Tate is fellenbaums exboyfriend. Shes accept add plea deal and agreed to testify against fellenbaum. A memorial for a murdered south jersey toddler has been dismantled days before his fathers trial is set to begin. David creato jr. s attorney was concerned that seeing this shrine to the little threeyearold brendan might influence jurors when they visit cooper river park, thats where the child was that found dead in 2015. His 23yearold fathers accused of killing him because the toddler was getting in the way of a new relationship. Creato jr. Has pleaded not guilty to murder and child endangerment charges. Lawmakers in North Carolina are looking at a new crackdown on drivers who disobey the speed limit but this bill wont punish people who drive too fast. House bill 827 will target slow drivers who use the passing lanes. The bill sponsors say fining people who drive under the speed limit in the left lane 200 would cut down on accidents caused by drivers passing in the right lane. Now, the measure which does have quite a bit of support would go into that effect statewide as early as december if it is passed. Big talkers now we start with a. M. Story out of utah thats inciting some outrage and a lot of questions. A judge is under fire for praising a convicted rapist during sentencing. Whats worse, the victim was there in the courtroom. As judge thomas lowe sentenced keith malaho for up to 15 years behind bars for molesting two family members. The judge got emotional stopped and pretty much off and oned over that convicted rapist. He says the court has no doubt that hes an extraordinarily good man adding but great men sometimes do bad things. Now, all of this as one of the victims sat and watched. A Civil Rights Group called restore our humanity is filing a complaint against the judge nearing his comments will scare other victims from coming forward.
